Corel PHOTO-PAINT X4 :: When Click Mouse To Draw Cursor Moves Up And To Left Of Position Started
May 18, 2011
When i click my mouse to draw the cursor moves up and to the left of the position i started which makes any and all editing impossible. Imagine trying to draw a line but the starting point is a half to a full inch up and to the left of where you wanted the line to start. I've tried a clean install even changed my mouse. doesn't do it it drawx4 only photo-paint x4.
Photo-PAINT fails to correctly determine the mouse pointer position.
No matter what you do, no matter which magnification level you're working in... any rectangle drawn is never put exactly where the mouse button was clicked or lifted.Â
(1) Â I've selected the image's edges while drawing a cropping rectangle. See the resulting cropping rectangle miss my selection for more than 3 pixels:
(2)Â I have selected the lower edges of the gray horizontal rules while drawing a cropping rectangle. See the resulting cropping rectangle miss my selection for more than 3 pixels again:

how to turn off the mouse function when the mouse cursor moves over a feature, such as an edge, point, or surface, and highlights it. I don't want it highlighting the features automatically. I want it to highlight once I click over a feature. My colleagues and I are very distraught by this feature, and will be discontinuing our use of your products that do not allow us to turn this feature off. I'm not sure why you'd want to weed your customer base like this, assuming that I can't turn this option off from the research I've done pouring through the hundreds of complaints related to this issue. I haven't been able to find any posts recently, or regarding Inventor 2013 specificially on this issue, so I was hoping this version had the option of turning it off. Does any of Autodesk's software, such as AutoCAD, have the option of turning it off?
I am making a background image for a website in Draw. The main part is Black.
I export as a jpg and the image looks fine when I view it.
Then if I open it in photo-paint the black is not black, but rather has a grey color to it. The image is exported fine and looks great when viewing it with the normal windows photo viewer program.
Something is happening when it is opened up in photo paint I think.
I have used mostly Corel Draw or Photopaint for quite a while in combination with 3d applications to do architectural renderings etc. I do have a question here about the "simulate pressure with Mouse" button in the Pen Settings. I can get my stylus pressure to work but I can't get the "simulate pressure" for the mouse icon to do anything.   So my question is does this work and if so how do I get it to work.
I recently have developed a problem using Photo Paint. I have already tried to use F8 and restored factory settings, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program. I do not have this problem when logged in as the guest user on my computer, just under my normal profile. I want to correct the settings under my normal profile.
When editing the tool tip does not line up with the selector or cross hairs. For example if I have the paint tool selected and try to paint it actually begins painting about two inches from where I want to begin painting. See picture below: The small clear circle represents where I want to begin, but the red dot is where it paints.Â
I use cs2 and when in photoshop when i left click on any of the tools for instance the pen tool it brings up the menu to select pen tool, freeform pen tool, etc.. rather than just selecting it. I am use to having to right click on the the pen tool to get that menu, i was wondering how i would change it back. Same thing happens when i left click on all the tools on the tools menu, just used the pen tool as an example.
I've relaunched and tried re-installing Illustrator CC twice and didn't solve this unexpected crash problem. It has never happened since I paid for this software months ago. Â Illustrator won't crash when: - using the keyboard arrows to manually move any path or drawn shapes/ objects - using my wireless mouse to draw objects/ new paths from clipboards, colour boards etc. Â Illustrator CRASHES when: - using my wireless mouse and macbook's touchpad mouse to move any new or old drawn paths/ objects/ shapes/ lines etc. Â In my Opinion - ROOT OF PROBLEM: - Wirelss and macbook's touchpad mouse cursor causees it to hang then crash 1 minute later. Â Why would my mouse cursor suddenly be the cause of this crash problem when it was working fine all along?

I had Corel Photo Paint v.9, have used it for years in addition to DRAW, but recently my computer died and I had to replace it. I installed it on the new machine, which is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, but the line tool suddenly started acting nuts. I would move the cursor to where I wanted to start the line and start the line with a mouse click. The line would then dart half-way down the screen and would be nowhere near the cursor's cross hairs making it difficult to work on images.
So, I figured it was a compatibility issue so I bought Corel Technical Suite X6 and have installed it. The line tool does exactly the same thing. The position of the line is nowhere near the crosshairs of the cursor. Is this a new "feature" or is this a bug? If the former, how can I get it to work like I am accustomed to working (I have used DRAW and Photopaint since the mid 1990's, using version 5.0). If the latter, how can I fix it?
When trying to use the clone tool, my initial cursor locations (as picked by me) appears to be about 200 pixels off. I have updated video drivers and mouse drivers to no avail. There was a posting some time back about the same issue, but it seems to be unresolved. The solution was to remove code from the registry.
In PS CS4, my cursor position often "jumps around" in a very random way, the instant the mousebutton is pressed. For example, when using the brush tool, it will start drawing on a completely different place than the cursor was positionen when I wanted to start painting... The same thing for the lasso tool, etc... I use Vista home 32-bit, CS 4 with latest patches (as of 2009-04-14) and a standard cordless Microsoft mouse - nothing fancy. Mouse works in all other programs 100% of the time.
I have a tablet and I am trying to change brush size and hardness with the pen but I keep creating new layers. Is there a way to turn this off because I would like it to flow better. With the mouse if I ctrl+alt +left mouse is gives me a new copy of my layer. With the pen I get the pressure/size to come up but it is fickle and mostly just resorts to creating a new layer copy which is what I want to disable so it just does the brush size/hardness option. It seems the left mouse click doesn't display in any keyboard shortcuts.
I want to write a plug-in that records all the mouse clicking position coordinates while using a polygon lasso tool. How can I get those? I have been reading through the API, but I see none of the functions that does so. Is there a way to record the x and y coordinates in an image. (Assumption: Only one layer).
When holding down the left mouse button in the scroll bar area for just a fraction of a second too long, the scroll bar moves several positions. In the past, it wasn't this touchy. It's so touchy that it's impossible to CONSISTENTLY click once and make the scroll thingy move just one position. In previous versions, it works like a charm. Is there a way to adjust this mouse issue? Â I use it on every image for cloning so that I can check one section at a time. For this reason, I've now gone back to CS5, but also because CS6 crashes on me and it sometimes gets stuck on Auto Saving files (possibly because they're big).
Can not click on multiple objects or lines for erase, trim or extend commands. Is there a mode that I have turned on by accident , driver warning also comes up in trim offset command.
I use iMac i7 with lion 10.7.5..After a "considerable" amount of editing, photoshop just stops responding. For example, the paint brush cursor will move but no paint can be applied. Have about 10-12 layers, guessing abour 70 history steps. Â Must exit the app and restart, at which time it will behave normally. I use latest, almost, OS and have 8GB ram.
I still want it to have its normal behavior while in a command, but when not in a command it still enters the selection mode, which does not work, but if it would enter a zoom window command, it might be a more useful command.
I once heard about a VBA macro existing that would allow you to copy an object to the clip board, then activate this macro, and then everywhere you clicked the mouse it would paste 'said' object.Â
I'm friends with an individual with disabilities, and it is difficult for him to hold down the left click and move the mouse (in his case, a joystick) at the same time. I was curious if there is a way so that when he presses left click, the brush will continue to "stroke" until he presses left click again.
If not, any software that could accomplish this task?
I am finding some inconsistencies when using tools provided in Paint.NET.
For 2 examples, I'll simply describe the behavior of the Escape key.
-----------
Exhibit A:
I would like to use Text to type in some letters with different colors. What I would do is press T (shortcut key for Text), select a color, type a letter, press ESC, nothing happened, click somewhere else, click back to the letter, select a different color, type a letter, ESC, nothing happened, repeat...
After I'm done, I press ESC again with nothing happening, and press a different shortcut key to continue editing, like O (shortcut key for Line/Curve).
Exhibit B:
I would like to draw a circle and a line. After finish typing, I press O four times to use the Ellipse tool, draw a circle, and then press ESC. Nothing happened. Next, I press O once to use the Line tool, start drawing a line, and then press ESC. At this point, my drawn line is canceled for good, and I need to either use Redo to recover it, or redraw the line again.
------------
Here I present to you these two exhibits. Notice that sometimes, pressing ESC does nothing other than jumping back to cursor, and sometimes cancelling the action that was done.
Would it be possible if the Escape key has a consistent action throughout all of the tools?
Similar to how Minecraft allows you to select the block your cursor is over via middle mouse click,
wouldn't it be intuitive to make the eye dropper/color selector bound to the middle mouse button?
As far as I can tell, a middle mouse click does nothing in PDN right now and when I tested to see if this feature was already implemented, it just felt right to me.
So I say follow in Notch's footsteps with the middle mouse button, afterall he himself advocated PDN on his blog for creating games
I cannot produce Curved Lines (read: Arcs). I'm wondering if the capability to do this in the PSP X5 program is glitchy--perhaps requires a fix? Normally, I formulate short-cuts or 'tricks'--nothing has worked here for my purposes however.
I want to know how to resize a photo without loosing quality....... in the image resize box the is a check box that says maintain file size ......what does that do .
I have tried to resize using it and the file stays the same as the original.
