When trying to use the clone tool, my initial cursor locations (as picked by me) appears to be about 200 pixels off. I have updated video drivers and mouse drivers to no avail. There was a posting some time back about the same issue, but it seems to be unresolved. The solution was to remove code from the registry.
View 2 RepliesI've used the Clone Tool a lot over the years but I've never worked out how to reset the source point without having to go back to the clone tool. I know a right click resets but it defaults to the position of the clone (why?), so I usually have to right click at least twice.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently had a computer virus. The hard drive was scrubbed, and we had to reinstall all our programs.
Now, on my CorelDraw X3 graphics suite, the photo paint program is only partially functional. The clone and paint tools do not work anymore. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times, rebooted the computer, but no progress. We have Windows XP, the same as before.
I had Corel Photo Paint v.9, have used it for years in addition to DRAW, but recently my computer died and I had to replace it. I installed it on the new machine, which is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, but the line tool suddenly started acting nuts. I would move the cursor to where I wanted to start the line and start the line with a mouse click. The line would then dart half-way down the screen and would be nowhere near the cursor's cross hairs making it difficult to work on images.
So, I figured it was a compatibility issue so I bought Corel Technical Suite X6 and have installed it. The line tool does exactly the same thing. The position of the line is nowhere near the crosshairs of the cursor. Is this a new "feature" or is this a bug? If the former, how can I get it to work like I am accustomed to working (I have used DRAW and Photopaint since the mid 1990's, using version 5.0). If the latter, how can I fix it?
When i click my mouse to draw the cursor moves up and to the left of the position i started which makes any and all editing impossible. Imagine trying to draw a line but the starting point is a half to a full inch up and to the left of where you wanted the line to start. I've tried a clean install even changed my mouse. doesn't do it it drawx4 only photo-paint x4.

When I click on the image sprayer tool in photo paint it constantly crashes..... comes up with a box that says 'Debug' when I click this is closes down. I was trying to add an image earlier to the spray list......then it was working fine.

Running Windows 7 - 64 bit with X5. About 2 weeks ago PhotoPaint tools changed from a nice, easy to use circle, showing the size of the nib in use (paint brush, clone, mask brush, eraser, etc) to a representation of the tool with no indication of how large the nib is. I've tried working through this, being busy with work, but it's very frustrating and was so much easier with the nib circles - showing the size.
This is the same thing that used to happen in V.12, and previously the solution was to return to a checkpoint in the system, re-install and all was set back to normal. It's been almost a year since switching to X5 and have no memory on how or what the process was back for V.12.
I having trouble with my new PaintShop Pro X4. The smear tool is not working. I've gone thru all the blend modes and tried each one, to no avail.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently have developed a problem using Photo Paint. I have already tried to use F8 and restored factory settings, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program. I do not have this problem when logged in as the guest user on my computer, just under my normal profile. I want to correct the settings under my normal profile.
When editing the tool tip does not line up with the selector or cross hairs. For example if I have the paint tool selected and try to paint it actually begins painting about two inches from where I want to begin painting. See picture below: The small clear circle represents where I want to begin, but the red dot is where it paints.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI must have fat fingered something and I now when I click on the Eraser Tool or the Brush Mask Tool instead of getting a circle or square, I get and icon of the tool instead. They still work but they're harder to use without seeing the circle or square depending on what's selected. I've been using Corel for many years and never had this happen and I can't figure out how to switch back.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe issue is my Photo-Paint clone brush is messed up. It has been reset with F8 so I know it is back to the default. When you first click the Clone tool it shows the circle cursor, and when you right-click the 2nd circle turns into a paint brush icon.
I've never seen that in 6 years using Photo-Pain 12 and X4. Since a default reset doesn't work, I have no clue why this happens or what to do. It's nearly impossible to gauge where its going to paint with the clone because the cursor isn't a circle or square, just a picture of a paint brush .
when I try to use clone stamp tool, the entire image is dragged with my curser as I move it. I reset to defaults to no avail.

Not just change the color but change the color AND make it keep it's original shading, etc. I have some family photos we had made recently and they used a beige color draping for the background. The ones we had made before had a black draping. I was wondering how I could go about using some sort of additive coloring to transform the varying shades of beige to the same varying shades of black.
I have already used the masking tool to separate the background from the rest of the photo.

Is there an easy way to do color tints on a photo in PhotoPAINT? And by that I don't mean just correcting the tint, I mean converting a regular photo into one that has a single color tint (e.g., yellow, red, etc.). I've tried graying it out and then adding a transparent color layer over it, but I'm not getting the result I'm looking for.
Also, while I'm at it, are there any (current) books out that cover PhotoPAINT in depth? I know that the official DRAW book has a section on it, but it's pretty basic.

I need grungy photo edges to be transparent so her background shows through the grunge effect.
Thought I knew how to do this but it's not working.
I would like to use a photo frame from connect, and keep it in the Effects>Creative>Frame menu of frames. I have downloaded and clicked and dragged the frame to my image, but I would like to reuse this frame. Is it possible to add it to the menu? I can download it to the menu - but it is a temporary item in the list of views to the right, which can be replaced from any of the permanent members of the dropdown selection of frames on the left of the Frame menu. I would like a frame to become one of those "permanent frames."
