Photoshop :: CS6 Won't Open After Update?
Mar 13, 2013My photoshop CS6 did an auto update today and now it won't open, it doesnt show an error message - just doesnt load. It even has a different icon in its usual place.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Style Update (or Style Update Check) Upon Open Of A Drawing?
Nov 21, 2013I am wondering if it is possible to do a style update (or style update check) upon open of a drawing?
The example would be that I have stuff made from way back that the colors/dimension sytles ect dont match the current standard and upon opening a file where they are not current, it would either prompt to update immediatly OR update automatically with no prompting (preferred method).
I am doing a massive amount of updates from old files recently and to save myself 1 - 3 clicks per drawing would be wonderful.
Photoshop :: Why Won't JPG Open Up In CS6 Since Last Update
Dec 24, 2012I'm on the latest version of CS6 and since the last update (7.3) I've noticed that the JPG's won't open up without going through ACR first. I don't have the box checked in Preferences that states that JPG's can open up with a double click in ACR. If I want a JPG to open up in ACR, I right mouse click and choose ACR. The only way to get a photo to open up in PS without going through ACR first is to have it as a PSD. It doesn't matter where the photo comes from for this to happen.
I have been scanning in a lot of old snap shots and when I click on the scanned photo that needs to go through the Automate to separate and straighten, I have to go through ACR first, then open it in PS, do the automation and save as a PSD. Then I can do the rest of the restorations in PS.
These old photos don't need to be 30-100 mg and be saved as PSD's. JPG's are just fine. This didn't happen until the last update. I'm on an iMac with plenty of storage space and RAM memory.

May 9, 2009Has the update changed video card requirements to 512mb for all cards? I have a HIS Radeon HD3850 256mb pci-e card that allowed gpu acceleration under photoshop 11.0 but with the upgrade it is now grayed out. Confusing since adobe's not so updated kb articles indicates 512mb is recommended but 256mb should still give some of the openGL functions.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Material Favorites Does Not Update When Update Materials
Dec 9, 2013I made a change to my materials library. I changed the color (from dark grey to light grey) of one material. I then saved this back to my library.
Now, when I start a new part, I get a warning that the material does not match the library. So, rather than using the material in the part, I opened the template and updated the material to match the library. (Manage >Update Styles).
This is where the problems come into play. In the update styles dialog, if I compare materials against my custom materials and then compare it to my Favorites, it just a continuious circle. It is like the favorites are stored inside the part and do not get updated to match the custom materials library. (I thought the whole idea behind using a library was to get the information out of the parts).

The only way I can get the favorites to match is to delete the favorite material, update the style and the add the favorite back in. That is a bunch of work. The problem I got with this is that there are thousands of parts that have been created that has this favorite in it. The only way to update these is to open each part (if I knew which one), delete the favorite, update the materials and then add the favorite back in.
I see the same thing in 2013 and 2014.

Lightroom :: Open With / Open As - Links To Photoshop 5.1 Grayed Out
Dec 28, 2011I am working with the latest versions of Photoshop, Lightroom & ACR. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the links to Photoshop from Lightroom were all grayed out. for example when I right click on an image and select "Open With," it and all of the rest of the links to Photoshop are grayed out and inaccessable. I have been using Photoshop since v2 ansd Lightroom since v1. My operating system in Win 7.
Uninstall and reinstall Photoshop to reestablish the links. I spent about two hours doing that yesterday. when I was done the links were back and functional. I left the compluter on all night to make sure everything was backed up. This morning I opened Lightroom (64bit) and attempted to open an image in Photoshop for editing. All of the links were grayed out again.
So today I uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom.
