Lightroom :: Open With / Open As - Links To Photoshop 5.1 Grayed Out
Dec 28, 2011
I am working with the latest versions of Photoshop, Lightroom & ACR. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the links to Photoshop from Lightroom were all grayed out. for example when I right click on an image and select "Open With," it and all of the rest of the links to Photoshop are grayed out and inaccessable. I have been using Photoshop since v2 ansd Lightroom since v1. My operating system in Win 7.
Uninstall and reinstall Photoshop to reestablish the links. I spent about two hours doing that yesterday. when I was done the links were back and functional. I left the compluter on all night to make sure everything was backed up. This morning I opened Lightroom (64bit) and attempted to open an image in Photoshop for editing. All of the links were grayed out again.
I have built a slider that includes three different links (one for each slide) that need to open in the parent window. When I apply the Action using Open URL and target the parent window they still open in a new window.
Is there a way to configure the window.open action to target the parent window when an Edge Animate object is placed into an index file?
I found that photoshop has onion-skinning for animation in photoshop. The problem is, is that I don't know how to open it up it's greyed out when I open the timeline panel and when I switch to frame-by-frame animation its gone. I don't know how to enable it.
I am running X6 on Win 8 Pro. I Externally Link a picture into a CD file using UNC naming. I also Externally link using a mapped network drive and a local drive. In none of these can i get the Edit Links option to not be grayed out.
I am using the FIle --> Import --> External Link option to insert the image. I have tried changing the linked image, closing the CD file and the reopening it and it does not update the graphic. I am stuck with the original which is what i do not want.
I have gotten this to work on older versions of CD and have not a clue what is going wrong now.
When press "open" the "open"-window dosn't open. Insted it open a comandpromt by the cursor that promt me to enter full search-way and name on the file I want to open.
I store my new photo files in my own file system (date and order of taking). It is this I want access to not to some new catalogue which Lightroom seems to require. Is there any way to open Lightroom and go to my files without having to create a new catalogue which I do not want or need? Also I have a separate partition for cache for Photoshop CS5 which I also use to finish off my work. Photoshop purges its files when I exit but Lightroom seems to leave files still in there which I then have to delete manually. Am I missing some prefernce which Lightroom will do on closing?
Windows Explorer set to open image files with PSE11, but when I double click on image in WE it launches PSE11, but I then need to click on Open tab in PSE11 to get it into work window. PSE10 did not have this problem
When I open the file.psd to edit or file.jpg (Any file type) The program will appear the dialog and then When I click "OK" to close this dialog. After that, it will appear the dialog to close program.
I could not continue to work.I must close and reopen the program. (Do not open the file.)
My CS6 open on blank screen only, cant open with image (at les it is hiding behind something on known to me ). Image open OK in Bridge Raw. I did reload CS6, from my CD, but same thing.
Using PS CS6 on Mac running Mt. Lion. When I am in Bridge and I choose OPEN, then the picture is opened in the PS application that shows in the dock or in PS that may already be opened. If, however, I choose OPEN WITH and choose either Adobe Photoshop CS6 (default) or Adobe Photoshop CS6, a second Photoshop application appears in the dock and then opens.
When designing brochures in X5, we quite often will save a file with no issues, but when we go to re-open it we end up with "encountered an improper arument" error message and the file is no longer able to be opened.
If you try to open the backup it comes up with a "runtime error" and won't open either. We are running Windows 7
if I open a drawing with DocumentManager.Open("drawing.dwg", false) and it is already open (or the user has no rights to write to it), the drawing is opened in READONLY mode without warning.
Is there way to check if DocumentManager.Open("drawing.dwg", false) will open the drawing normal or READONLY?
How do I get my Sheet Set Manager to open up each time I open a CAD drawing? I turned it off and can't remember how to turn it back on. I use command SSautoopen, set to 1 but doesn't alway work. Sometimes if I close AutoCad and reopen it I can got to drop down menu and click on .dst extension and it will open but if I close out of it it won't open again unless I restart AutoCAD. I thought I used a command from the Express Tool menu but can't find it.
About a month and a half ago, after a microsoft update, I cannot open .cdr files from the file/open list. When going to file/open, the programs hangs up, cannot even use "cancel", and have to go to Windows Task Manager to shut down the program. All is well until I try to open a file from file/open.
I can import .eps, and everything else seems fine.My work around is to open from My Documents --Which works fine. Just is a silly little aggravation.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired, etc....all the normal fixes.
Why am i forced to open up parts separately when trying to open my assembly. Once I open my assembly I get pop up windows asking me to either open, skip, or find the part it specifies.
I recently installed a student version of Maya 2012 on my home computer so I didn’t have to work from college for a project, but I have run into some issues.
Not sure what is going on with my Maya but it won't open files unless I actually go to it in the browser and double click on the file. Even once I have done that I can only save over it, save as doesn't work. I also can't create or set projects. There are probably more problems but these are the ones I noticed/really need.
This is what appears in my output window:
Could not find maya.utils._guiExceptHook. Invalid Python Environment: Python is unable to find Maya's Python modules Python Environment: PYTHONHOME = C:Program FilesAutodeskMaya2012in PYTHONPATH = C:Program FilesAutodeskMaya2012in;C:/Program Files/Autodesk/MayaPlugIn2012//scripts;C:/Program Files/NVIDIA Corporation/PhysX for Maya/Maya 2012/scripts [code]....
I'm working with both Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 on a mac. I'm creating a graphic. The background is a (cartoonish) mouth and I finished it a couple of days ago. (It's an Illustrator file.) I've been working on the letters to go inside of the mouth, (Once I'm finished it'll look as though they're being crushed.) I scanned and edited small wooden letters in Photoshop, and now I would like to work with them with the background in Illustrator. I understand how to open a Photoshop file in Illustrator, but I don't want to open the document as a separate Illustrator file. Is there a way to open a file from Photoshop as a second layer?
Some of the letters repeat as well. Will I have to create two files for this, or can I open the same file twice?
I'm using Gimp 2.8.6.Try as I might, I'm still trying to figure out how to effectively 'merge' 3 shots of the same scene taken at 3 different exposures (using the exposure bracketing feature on my camera). The idea is to end up with the equivalent of an HDR image.
I assume that I open the first image and then open the other two as layers . .
Once I have the dwg open how do I get to the database?
Dim AcadApp As Object = Nothing Dim AcadDoc As Object = Nothing Try AcadApp = GetObject(, "AutoCAD.Application.18") Catch ex As Exception AcadApp = CreateObject("AutoCAD.Application.18") End Try AcadApp.Visible = False Try AcadDoc = AcadApp.Documents.Open("C:UsersPAULDesktopB-03-J-H135.dwg", True) Catch ex As Exception Exit Sub End Try Dim MyDb As Database = AcadApp.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument.Database
I recently purchased/installed LR3 and Photoshop CS5. I do some editing in LR3, and then when I try to send the file to Photoshop, I can't. I'm using Windows, so I go to Photo - Edit in - and then Photoshop is greyed out. I've checked my preferences a million times, and it's set up correctly to open the files as PSD in Photoshop (I did it exactly as Scott Kelby's book tells me to), and it still doesn't work.
