In LR 4.1 i was able to open LR by rightclicking/ open with LR 4, directly from a file in my OLY ORF map. This is no longer possible after updating to 4.2. Windows 7-32 bit.

adobes says the final ACR 7.2 update is available through the CS6 update.well that is of no use when you have offline computers. This update will be released as manual update file too?! any infos?
I am wondering if it is possible to do a style update (or style update check) upon open of a drawing?
The example would be that I have stuff made from way back that the colors/dimension sytles ect dont match the current standard and upon opening a file where they are not current, it would either prompt to update immediatly OR update automatically with no prompting (preferred method).
I am doing a massive amount of updates from old files recently and to save myself 1 - 3 clicks per drawing would be wonderful.
I am installing LR4. I tried to update the catalog.I received the message that LR encountered problems when trying to update the format of the catalog file and cannot use this catalog in this version of Lightroom. When I click on the See Adobe Technote button, I received the message that that file is unavailable from the Adobe Website. I don't want to loose all my catalog information from my previous instralling of LR2.7.

I would like to send a raw file (CR2 or .ORF) from LR using the "Edit In" mode to CS6 and have it open in ACR, or be able to open it in ACR.
I have tried a number of approaches, none have worked. Lightroom support told me I needed to uninstall LR and reinstall.

Then, when they select their images, I go back and open the images in Photoshop for retouching. I wish I could open them from Lightroom WITHOUT applying the adjustments I've made. I don't want to undo the adjustments, but I want them to be applied to the file AFTER the PS edits are done, not before. Am I missing something?

When I click open in Photoshop through LR4 it just goes to the file I was working on and doesn't open new copy. How can I open same file twice in raw format? View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm on the latest version of CS6 and since the last update (7.3) I've noticed that the JPG's won't open up without going through ACR first. I don't have the box checked in Preferences that states that JPG's can open up with a double click in ACR. If I want a JPG to open up in ACR, I right mouse click and choose ACR. The only way to get a photo to open up in PS without going through ACR first is to have it as a PSD. It doesn't matter where the photo comes from for this to happen.
I have been scanning in a lot of old snap shots and when I click on the scanned photo that needs to go through the Automate to separate and straighten, I have to go through ACR first, then open it in PS, do the automation and save as a PSD. Then I can do the rest of the restorations in PS.
These old photos don't need to be 30-100 mg and be saved as PSD's. JPG's are just fine. This didn't happen until the last update. I'm on an iMac with plenty of storage space and RAM memory.
Has the update changed video card requirements to 512mb for all cards? I have a HIS Radeon HD3850 256mb pci-e card that allowed gpu acceleration under photoshop 11.0 but with the upgrade it is now grayed out. Confusing since adobe's not so updated kb articles indicates 512mb is recommended but 256mb should still give some of the openGL functions.

I tried opening the catalog through the file menu, but absolutely nothing happens. I tried going to the folder and clicking on it but this only opens lightroom with no catalog. After having scanned this forum I found that I need to delete the .lock file, but after doing that the same things happen. how to open my catalog? Will reinstalling Lightroom work?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the LR4.x -> LR 5 installer from this website, but I can't install it. Each time I try to extract the installer, it fails. I downloaded it 5 times, using 3 different browsers... It does not fail exactly at the same moment (12%, 32%, 23%) but il fails anyway.
I also tried to open the package with winzip, and extract the file manually. Same thing, files can't be extracted as they seem to be corrupted.
I uploaded some photos from my phone onto my laptop. These seem to have disappeared altogether. They are no longer on my phone, they are not in any of the folders on my laptop (I have checked several times) and they are not in my laptop recycling bin either. Since this happened, I have notcied the appearance of many LRPREV files on my laptop, which I cannot open and I have not seen before. Putting 2 and 2 together, I am inclined to believe that the lost uploaded photos from my phone are the LRPREV files, and that they were somehow, unintentionally converted.
What are LRPREV files, and how do I open them? Alternatively, is there a way to convert them into a file type which I can open? where my uploaded photos may be?
