I have a Canon 6D and recently purchased Lightroom 4.4 so that I could open my Canon RAW files. They do open in Lightroom, but when I move them to PHotoshop CS4 I can't open the files. I get a message telling me I can't open them.
View 6 RepliesI have my pictures on an external HD, formatted to Windows (XP). On my WIN7 computer, I've imported the pictures from the ext HD, into LR5. But I can't delete a bad picture, only remove from catalog. When I try to delete, I get this message : "the file could not be moved to resycle bin". If I go to the folder in Windows I have no problem deleting the file.I Should mention, that a Macbook Air have been reading files from this ext HDD.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm running LR2 (I know, first step, UPGRADE!), but in the meantime, I had to move my catalog because my drive got full. Under the Backup dialog box I chose the new location. But when I just click on the LR icon to open the program it opens with the default C: drive catalog location that it first installed with. Then I open the specific catalog from in the program and relaunch it. I have LR set to bring the dialog box everytime I start LR since I don't use it everyday. So I back it up when the dialog comes up and when it's done it goes right back to the default catalog with none of my library in there. Why do I have to keep opening the catalog manually?
View 7 Replies View RelatedLightrooms crashed, which is a common occurrance. But, this last time was different. After I restarted it my catalog was not linked and all my settings were gone. I tried opening the catalog through the file menu, but absolutely nothing happens. I tried going to the folder and clicking on it but this only opens lightroom with no catalog. After having scanned this forum I found that I need to delete the .lock file, but after doing that the same things happen. how to open my catalog? Will reinstalling Lightroom work?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI moved a folder in Lightroom in the file pane, in Library mode and now Lightroom thinks they are missing. I looked for them in Finder and they aren't were they were and they aren't where I moved them too. I can't figure out how they just disappeared into the ether. The pictures are on a network drive, but I've done this before and Lightroom had no problems whatsoever.

I am migrating from a Windows-based PC to an iMac. I successfully used Lightroom to move all my images and catalogs from the PC hard file to a USB attached hard file. I was able to go to the iMac and move the Lightroom Catalog from USB attached drive to the Apple Macintosh drive. I was able to bring up Lightroom with moved Lightroom Catalog and work with all of my images. Then using Lightroom I was unable to move the images to the Macintosh hard drive without getting the error code above.
I am unable to open files from the file "OPEN". I can open from Bridge or open recent document, but not from just File, Open.
My operating system is Mac OS X.
When I first installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 I was unable to run Photoshop or Bridge CS6. Photoshop would give me an error about "could not open a scratch file because the file is locked. If I ran either of these programs as an administrator they would run without issue, this led me to believe that there was a permission issue somewhere. After some digging I found out the both Bridge and Photoshop try to create a temp file (similiar to Photoshop Temp2777223910092) on the c: drive of the computer. In my case the user that I was logged in with did not have access to write to the root of the C: drive. Note that you run the program as the administrator and change the scratch disk location as that changes the preference for the administrator user and not the user that you are currently logged in as.
I first had to give the user that I was logged on with write permissions to the root of the C: drive. Next try and run Photoshop, you will get an error another error about the scratch disk and about and invalid or missing setting file. To correct this you need to have run Photoshop as an administrator, next you can go to Users AdminAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings and copy Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs and/or Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs to Users<your logged in username>AppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6.Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThere's a specific file I can't open. I've worked on it previously, but a week later, and it won't open. All of my other PS CS6 files are intact, and will open immediately. However, this one file takes so long to load (2+ hours) that I end up restarting my computer in order to work on all of my other things. The size isn't the issue, either; it's only 70 megabytes, as opposed to some of my more heavy-duty files that run upwards 200 megabytes.
I'm thinking about opening it on another computer to see what happens, but I'm concerned about the fact that I can't open this particular file. I'm not sure if it's corrupted, based on the fact that it just sits on my computer and just tells me that it's loading.
Is there something I can do to make it open, or modify the file? I've already tried defragging my computer and other things, and I'm at a loss here. I really don't want to start working on this from scratch .
I cannot open a .dng file in my ps elements 6.0. I am running win xp pro
I can see the RAW .dng files in the 'open' dialog box, but when I go to "open" one, I get the following error. Online help say I "should" be able to do this.

My camera is a Casio EX-FH100, shoot 10mp files in raw.
Everytime I try to open a CR2 file i get an error saying
"could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional info."
I am shooting with a Canon 6D and Canon 60D so I know the camera models are supported. I have already updated to the 7.1 version of Camera Raw.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed the trial version of Elements 12 as we are looking at purchase for a client who needs a simple and inexpensive program to look at EPS files and save them as JPGs. Elements 12 says that an EPS file can be 'imported' as a supported file type, however when I click on File -> Import, it comes up with WIA Support, then when I click on that and select the EPS file, it says "No WIA compatible devices were detected. Check that your device is plugged in to the computer and the power is turned on".
I have seen an article on how to import into Elements 11, but the options are not available in 12 (probably due to the fact that 12 is supposed to natively import the format). As I understand the trial is a fully-functioning package with no options turned off until purchase.
I just installed my Photoshop CS Version 8 into Windows 7 on a new PC. When the program is opened, the File Browser icon does not toggle, and I have to go to File menu to open Browse.
The browser window now cannot be moved, maximized, or closed. The same applies to any image that is opened. Notwithstanding, all the functions of Photoshop are working OK. Since Adobe no longer supports this version

View 9 Replies View RelatedI opened a previously saved project and all the AVI files have blank spaces. When I click properties it says the file is unreadable. When I try to open the file it says unable to open file, catastrophic failure.
These are the same files that I used to edit and render a video a few months ago, and I was able to successfully open the same file in Windows Media Player. I am using VSX4 on a Windows 7 laptop. I'm not sure what updates are installed.
The video file is DV AVI file (720 x 480, 28854 kbps data rate, 298788 kbps total bitrate, and 29 FPS).
At the moment, the only file format that I can import on the edit tab is *.wmv. There should be no issue importing *.avi or *.mp4 or any other format for that matter, but it fails to open the files. I keep getting the same "unable to open the file 17101:7:1" error for seemingly no reason. Everyone says this software's functionality is wonderful, but if it won't even let you bring in normal files it's looking less and less useful all the time.

Unable to open swap file. GIMP has run out of memory and cannot use the swap file. Some parts of your images may be corrupted. Try to save your work using different filenames, restart GIMP and check the location of the swap directory in your Preferences.
When I check preferences, the path to the swap file is not correct. My path is user to Application to Application Support to Library to Gimp.
Every time I try to render in AE I get this error message " after effects unable to open file 1610153459" I'm stuck until I find a solution. I've tried some of the solutions I've found on the web, such as using a different drive and changing permissions on drive. While the problem is the same, most of the solutions are for a PC. I have a Mac.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've started getting this error when attempting to open QT wrapped DVCPro HD in Premiere Pro CC (7.2.1) windows OS.
I have the latest version of QT installed and I can open and play the files successfully on the same machine in QT. The files are located on a network share but I have tried copying them locally and I get the same issue.
I've tried removing, reinstalling, updating QT, rebooting the machine, holding down shift when launching Premiere but none of these things have made a difference.
I can open the same files on a different machine using the same version of Premiere (without QT installed - different OS though, Windows 8) and up until fairly recently, I could open these files on the machine where it's not working too.
The really strange thing (as far as I am concerned at least) is that I can open up the project in AME and render it out to DVCPro HD on the same machine, without a problem but for some reason Premiere doesn't want to handle the files properly.
