I recently update my Illustrator and now I cannot open the software. I have this message : Adobe Illustrator has stopped working. Please enable Versana font(s) and relaunch Illustrator.

The example would be that I have stuff made from way back that the colors/dimension sytles ect dont match the current standard and upon opening a file where they are not current, it would either prompt to update immediatly OR update automatically with no prompting (preferred method).
I am doing a massive amount of updates from old files recently and to save myself 1 - 3 clicks per drawing would be wonderful.
My photoshop CS6 did an auto update today and now it won't open, it doesnt show an error message - just doesnt load. It even has a different icon in its usual place.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm on the latest version of CS6 and since the last update (7.3) I've noticed that the JPG's won't open up without going through ACR first. I don't have the box checked in Preferences that states that JPG's can open up with a double click in ACR. If I want a JPG to open up in ACR, I right mouse click and choose ACR. The only way to get a photo to open up in PS without going through ACR first is to have it as a PSD. It doesn't matter where the photo comes from for this to happen.
I have been scanning in a lot of old snap shots and when I click on the scanned photo that needs to go through the Automate to separate and straighten, I have to go through ACR first, then open it in PS, do the automation and save as a PSD. Then I can do the rest of the restorations in PS.
These old photos don't need to be 30-100 mg and be saved as PSD's. JPG's are just fine. This didn't happen until the last update. I'm on an iMac with plenty of storage space and RAM memory.
Has the update changed video card requirements to 512mb for all cards? I have a HIS Radeon HD3850 256mb pci-e card that allowed gpu acceleration under photoshop 11.0 but with the upgrade it is now grayed out. Confusing since adobe's not so updated kb articles indicates 512mb is recommended but 256mb should still give some of the openGL functions.

View 8 Replies View RelatedThe right click context menu on the top level assembly (on the model tree in Inventor) has the option of 'Open Drawing'.
Is there a way to do that via iLogic? Unfortunately I can't figure it out if there is. I would like to open and update the relevant drawing.
Also have tried it the other way around, that is to run my rues in the assembly from the drawing since the drawing is the parent. But I am not sure how to reference the assembly.
How do I do this? Or its at an automatic update

I have version 17.0.2--I have gone to the creative cloud to update and it tells me that I am updated. When I look under "about illustrator" the version is 17.0.2. Step1: Created an multi-layered vector artwork with gradient fill and stroke.
Step 2: Saved as SVG file - Settings Profile: SVG 1.1
Step 3: SVG file is not saved properly hence unable to regenerate - Problem: Artwork Scale and Canvas size has minimised drastically.
Same art is saved perfectly in .ai format.Requirement is SVG format only. How can I revert the previous update.My MBP's Time machine is disabled from the beginning.

Uninstalling Illustrator 17.1 and reinstalling v17.0 works.If Illustrator is allowed to update as recommended it no longer launches.Is there something in the update that prevents my older spec mac from running it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working with both Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 on a mac. I'm creating a graphic. The background is a (cartoonish) mouth and I finished it a couple of days ago. (It's an Illustrator file.) I've been working on the letters to go inside of the mouth, (Once I'm finished it'll look as though they're being crushed.) I scanned and edited small wooden letters in Photoshop, and now I would like to work with them with the background in Illustrator. I understand how to open a Photoshop file in Illustrator, but I don't want to open the document as a separate Illustrator file. Is there a way to open a file from Photoshop as a second layer?
Some of the letters repeat as well. Will I have to create two files for this, or can I open the same file twice?
I'm using lynda.com "Essentials" to learn the product (CS6).
The tutorial shows you how to accurately line up guidelines by using the Info panel. However for me the info panel "locks" as soon as I select a guideline from the ruler and drag it onto the artboard. It only starts updating when I move my mouse off the guideline - which makes it useless.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug introduced since Adobe CS6 was first released? (I noticed there was an update this morning - 15th May 2012 - which I've applied)
When I drop a swatch color on a gradient, it doesn't link to the swatch color like in a solid fill.Nevermind the UI inconsistency with this behavior, since Adobe probably doesn't care, but how do I get around this?
Creating a Swatch from the gradient is not a solution for me, as I use the same base color in different gradients.
Is it possible to force Illustrator to actively update linked files as they are saved in Photoshop? I'd like to place a PSD into AI, for Live Trace, then edit the PSD and see the updated Live Trace without clicking in Illustrator.
