Photoshop CS6 was working fine until about an hour ago...now the shortcut it is gone. Looks like the app is gone completely. Went into Creative Cloud and it said CS6 had updates but I am receiving an error code U44M1I210. I am current on payment.
View 2 RepliesSo my whites and grays and everything are PERFECT everywhere but in Photoshop. Granted I don't have a hardware calibration tool, only software, but I've used nVidia's tool as well as several others, and everything is fine, except when I go into CS5. For example, the whites on this page are perfectly fine. However, in CS5 the white is cream colored.
Is there something specific to CS5 that is independent of my monitor as well as every other application that I own that makes it cream? It didn't used to be like this, so I don't know what changed.
When I import photos via 'File / Get Photos and Videos / From Files and Folders ...' they appear as individual photos in the 'Getting Media' box but when the import is complete they all appear the same - a grey background with an hourglass figure. How do I get the completed import to display the individual photos?

My colors are completely off in photoshop from the real image. I've already checked to make sure it's not the monitor, the color is fine there. I've already read the forums that say to simply turn on "Proof Colors." That does changes the colors how they should be. HOWEVER, if I try and export the file out as a png or anything, they are exported with the messed up color rather than the "proof colors." BUT if I open the image up in microsoft paint, it appears to be right, but only with paint. If I open the image with anything else (reader, indesign, picaso, etc.), the color is always messed up. I even tried exporting the png to someone else thinking it was just my computer, no luck. For some reason, I can't export anything without it using crazy colors (just like if "proof colors" was unchecked). I've tried deleting preferance and playing around with the color settings. What can I do?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIts a large file, so i shut down photoshop and then started it back up, like i do all the time. However when photoshop started up again my file i had been working on all week was gone. It could be seen in the recent files, but when i clicked it it said it couldnt find it. So i go to the directory where it should be, and, yup, its gone.
Not in the recycle bin, not anywhere on the drive after many exhaustive searches, and i cant even find it using a disk recovery tool. I have tried recuvra, which took over 2 hours, and nothing. It is completely and absolutely gone, taking away a weeks worth of work with it. I actually need this for tomorrow, but dont have anywhere near enough time to create it from scratch again.
I have recently installed Photoshop CS3 Extended but there was a problem with the serial number on the box. Adobe have issued me a new serial number to use. I uninstalled it all but when i reinstalled it, the original serial number is still there.
How do i completely remove all traces of Photoshop CS3 Extended from my computer so that i can reinstall it with my new serial number? This is a full retail version used on a Windows XP system.
Using the square brush set in CS6 results in a sqaure that is, in fact, not really square...
Note how there are 3 90 degree corners, but the bottom right is rounded, and the bottom and right sides are faded.Am I doing something wrong? How can I fix this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo when I booted up this morning and logged into the CC desktop application it told me that there was a Photoshop update available. I installed the update, opened Photoshop, and my workspace no longer exists. All of my custom settings (scratchpad color, menus, docks... EVERYTHING) has been reset to the "Essentials" workspace. And when I tried to "sync settings" to hopefully pull back my custom workspace from the "cloud" it showed that I had never synced before and seemed to have no information to pull from the cloud. So that did absolutely nothing. I had also saved my custom workspace, but it isn't an option to select in the drop-down menu.
Now I have to spend time trying to remember all of my custom tweaks before I can even get started on my work. At this rate, I'm going to have to screenshot my setup just so I have a record of my workspace in preparation for the next update that wipes out everything. I thought the whole point of "sync settings" was that a backup was kept of everything so this wouldn't happen.My experience thus far with CC has been that every update breaks something in my workflow.
I want to take a map of a country and change the shape of it to fit exactly into another complex shape (e.g. a puddle of water, an animal outline, etc).
To be clear, in doing this I don't simply want to mask the original map image to "cut out" the chosen shape, I need to keep the entire map and distort its shape into the new shape. I'm also not talking about using displacement maps to "wrap" the map around a second object. I guess it's a "shape morph" I'm after, which leaves all the original content and just changes the boundaries.
I know I could use the warp tool, but this requires an incredible amount of time to manually change images to exactly fit a new complex shape. It also means every time I want a new shape it has to be manually done. Given that the warp grid only has 9 squares, this makes it even more difficult to get a good match to the new shape.
For example to choose a few points on the original to map to chosen points on the second shape, such that the software will then interpolate the points in between.
From time-to-time, I seem to have had a temporary printing issue with Photoshop Elements 8, whereby the photo I was trying to print would not be printed completely, but part of it would be cut off, as if the printer's print-head would not be receiving the data from Photoshop past a certain point in one particular plane.
Up to this morning, I had never encountered any printing issue with Photoshop CS6, which I have had, and printed with, for the past 6 months or so. This morning, however, I encountered the same issue, for the first time, using Photoshop CS6. It is now printing properly again, but why do I occasionally encounter this with either software?
When I normally print, I like to print photos to exact sizes, but which vary greatly, and so I prefer the technique of creating a new blank A4-sized document and dragging my photo into this document and, by using Free Transform, size the photo to my exact requirements, before printing onto good quality A4 glossy or sometimes matte paper.
What happened this morning was that, using the technique above, I was trying to print a very small passport-sized photo over to the right-hand side of a sheet of A4 paper, with the blank document in the portrait orientation. My photo was only partially printed, and cut off past a certain point in the horizontal plane. By dragging my photo further towards the centre of the blank A4-sized document and reprinting onto the same sheet of A4 worked fine. After experimenting a little by printing the photo in various places on the same sheet of A4, I discovered that the photo was not printing past a certain point, in the horizontal plane, towards the right-hand side of the sheet of A4.
This cut off point was consistent in every printing attempt. There was a certain point to the right-hand side of the sheet of A4, where, in the horizontal plane, it would simply not print past. By measuring this cut off point in the horizontal plane, it is 4.8cm from the right-hand edge of the sheet of A4, in its portrait orientation.After resetting all tools, turning the PC and printer off and then on again, launching Photoshop CS6 and retrying, it seems to be printing correctly again, and I am able to print my photo anywhere on the sheet of A4, without anything being cut off past a certain point.
Is there anyway to save out an Alpha Channel Separately from the color? I just want the alpha channel as an image file. How can I do this?

If I have an image with say, for example three layers, and it's 100x100 pixels then I'll usually put a picture in there or whatever. What I want to know, and I've seen this done by other people, is how I delete a part of this picture completely?
What I mean is that if I have a picture up and I want to delete it so that when I post it on the internet I can see the background in that area. I've tried doing this but still I see nothing but the white background. I want to delete that area COMPLETELY.

I want to manually completely remove PSE 12 in order to attemp to re-install it. Where can I find the complete steps to manually remove PSE 12?
I already know how to remove backgrounds from images, and create a transparent background. However, I need to be able to use the resulting image in another program called Scratch. And as far as I know, it does not accept .tiff, .pgn, .psd or gifs.
How do I completely remove that background so that it doesn't show up white in other programs when I save it as a .jpeg?
I have purchased CS6 and I am having problems with the 64-bit version. After I open it completely freezes and I have to force close it. This happens every time I open it. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it multiples times. I didn't have this issue with CS5. I am running this on a Mac 10.6.8, Processsor 2.8 with 8GB memory.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been using CS3. Without un-installing CS3, I installed CS6 actually both 64bit & 32bit. I had several problems when running. For example, images often were not completely visible after loading part of the image shown as transparent. I could duplicate the layer & all was ok, with both the new & original layers. This hasn't been a major problem, but is a nuisance & indicates that something is not right. Several features even cause "Photoshop CS6 has stopped working". I could always fall back to CS3 when a problem cropped up, altho' it was a pain having to save so often.
I deactivated CS6 and uninstalled (via Control Panel). I then re-installed, installed updates & re-activated . same problem when images load. I just re-installed, so I haven't had a chance to test other things.
I created some graphics with text using Arial Narrow Bold in PS CS before I reformatted the HD on the same machine with the same XP OS disk. When I reinstalled Arial Narrow didn't appear in the Fonts list but was in the Windows Fonts List and available to other Folders. I am running XP, not Vista.I have tried dragging Arial Narrow into Program FilesCommon FilesAdobeFonts etc to no avail. I have also tried removing and reinstalling the Arial Narrow fonts without success. I have not worked out how to edit the Adobe Fonts File to include Arial Narrow.I have reinstalled CS, trialled CS3, and even reinstalled an earlier version of PS 7 which used to support Arial Narrow as a dedicated font, but not any more.Granted, in PS CS3 you can select Arial, then select <Narrow> in the adjacent drop down menu, but you can't select Arial Narrow Bold which makes it impossible to edit or alter the text in the earlier graphic that I created, something that is essential for either letterheads or business cards.If anybody has a fix on how to be able to create / edit / alter Arial Narrow Bold in either PS CS or PS7 I would be very grateful.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just purchased a new HP P6-2469ea - uk desktop pc running Windows 8. There appears to be some compatibility problems with Elements 10. Other programs: iTunes. Office and the reinstalled apps etc are fine but when elements 10 is loaded the CPU usage rockets to sometimes over 90% and consistanty remains at 25% when just sat in organizer. This results in the cursor stuttering and on occasion the screen freezes and sometimes dropping out completely. HP believe it is a compatibility problem. Same program combinations work fine on Windows Vista (64bit) and a macbook pro with Apple's current operating system.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAdobe decided to remove the 'Print Size' button/option from the 'Zoom' tool in Photoshop 13.0.2..I use this heavily as I run a print lab and I often need to show people on screen what the size of their print will be (I have set the correct ppi for each display in preferences).
I am absolutely amazed they could remove a feature like this without any warning in a minor update. The irony is that for the first time ever retina displays have enough resolution to assess sharpness without going to 100% and the 'View Print Size' is more useful than ever before.
I will probably have to roll back to the last Photoshop version on all systems but before I do, any way to get the 'Print Size' option back?
When I press on the text button in cs5, windows says there's a problem and then photoshop closes. I've also noticed that any text editing options in the swatches have completely disappeared too!
