Photoshop :: Opening CC Completely Hangs?
Oct 11, 2013When I open ps cc it completely hangs. No menus will open. Cannot even close without using task manager. Should I just reload? How do I delete the old version?

Apr 19, 2009I've checked the forums and cant find anything quite like this...I've just installed (and updated) PS CS4 on a Vista x64 system - PS opens and seems to run just fine until I go to open an image (any image) - the image comes up but stays fuzzy and the program locks up and has to be terminated... this happens with both the 32bit and 64bit versions. I've tried turning off/on GPU acceleraton - ive tried changing parameters in the nvidia control panel - nothing seems to work... the workstation has two displays with oldish dual Quadro FX 3400 cards (no SLI) with the latest nvidia drivers and they seem to work very well for everything else... its a puzzle... short of trying different GPU's (which I dont have), what can be done?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Hot Fix - System Completely Shuts Down On Opening File
Jul 16, 2013Five minutes ago I installed the latest hot fix. Now, AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014 won't work at all. As soon as I open the program and then try to open a file the system completely shuts down. Everything was working fine until two days ago. Then it wouldn't open the files and said to type in the file name on the command line. When I would do this, it always said file could not be located. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, have an nVidea GTX 570 card, and an AMD Phenom II CPU. I'm hoping I don't have to uninstall and reinstall again.

Sep 18, 2013I posted another thread yesterday trying to figure this issue out. Illustrator does NOT actually crash, instead it hangs and simply becomes unresponsive when trying to open a handful of files. I have been reading other threads similar to this and have addressed all of the issues that seemed to have resolved the problem for other people, i.e. reset preferences, reinstalled illlustrator several times and removed preferences, etc. I do have a Wacom Bamboo tablet, but I have removed the driver and files from my Mac. But, it seems odd that the Wacom plugin would cause only a select handful of files to become unresponsive. I have a lot of work that needs to be done but I can't take a step further without Illustrator working properly!

Aug 18, 2013I recently upgraded to Studio X6 and downloaded service pack 1. I had this same problem with X4, and was in hopes X6 would eliminate it.
I open a project and I want to add a jpeg image, so I drill down to the folder where the file is located and it hangs there with the little blue circle going around, and no files appear and I get a message "Not Responding" I I must close the program or wait for it to respond, which it never does.
Illustrator :: Hangs Opening Existing Files
Jan 15, 2014We are having an issue with CS4 and CS6 with a couple of users who are using Windows 7 64bit. Previously the users were using CS4 on Windows XP 32 bit.
The program seems to open ok and the user is able to create, save and open new files, the issue seems to be when the users try to open files that they previously created. The behavior they see is that the files take between 5 and 10 mins to open (even if stored locally) and the programs hangs when they then try to do anything with the files.
The are using the same hardware, the only difference being that the OS has been migrated to Windows 7 64 bit. CS4 and CS6 were then installed cleanly onto the machines.The users have the same issue with both CS4 and CS6 with their existing files.
Lightroom :: Frequently Hangs On Opening Catalog
Mar 8, 2014About every other time I open Lightroom or switch the catalog, Lightroom will hang. Usually some thumbnails from the catalog will be visible; if it was after starting Lightroom, the splashscreen remains visible.
I am using Lightroom 5.3 64bit on Windows 7. (The problem was already there with Lightroom 3.6, but not quite as frequently)
My main catalog has about 14.000 pictures, a second catalog about 10.000. The problem exists with both catalogs.
Sometimes, deleting all previews works, sometimes the catalog remains unopenable.
I have rebuild my catalog from scratch several times (losing all virtual copies and edit histories).
The least-data-loss method seems to be to rename the catalog directory, so Lightroom will create a new empty one. Then import all photos from the old renamed catalog.
What I have tried so far, to no avail:
- Upgrading from LR 3.6 to 5.3.
- New hardware (Mainboard/CPU/RAM/Power supply; CPU: AMD->Intel, Graphics: nVidia->Intel).
- Reinstalling Lightroom
- Deleting Preferences file
- Moving pictures from network drive to a local harddisk.
- Moving pictures and catalog to a different hard disk (physical, not just other partition).
- Stopping all unneeded services and processes, down to a bare minimum.
There is not a whole lot of other software running on my machine: Dropbox, iTunes background services, Spyder3 monitor calibration, MS Security Essentias, Epson Print driver Icon. No toolbars, desktop-apps or what have you.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 :: Hangs While Opening Some Files?
Apr 12, 2011I have fully licensed X4 version. Last week i was receiving 4 different cdr files (cdr X4), created by other person (lets call him Jack). Files were ok, but there was some grammar mistakes, so I asked Jack to correct them and send files back to me. But! When he did that, I wasn't able to open theese files . My Corel hangs trying to open all of them. And it seems like files are opened and Corel is running, but i can not see anything, even panels...Only gray or white screen is visible.... Today, 12 of April, i received files (created also on version X4) from another person and story repeats. It only happans with some cdr X4 files, other works just fine.
Common thing is that all of them are created on X4 version. I tried several times to reinstall my corel, but it did work. I downloaded trial version of Corel X5 on other PC, there i was able to open them, save for version 14, only then i could open theese files on my pc. But i can not do that all the time. Jack is very active client and trial version is only for a month =). I need to understand is it my Corel problem, or Jacks. But todays events, shows it is my problem. I have a feeling, that it might be some corel updates, which prevent my Legal Corel X4 to open cdr files, created on Pirate Corel X4 version. Can it be true? Conflict between legal and illegal versions... If trully, such updates took place last week
AutoCAD Inventor :: 2012 Hangs When Opening IDW Files?
Jul 16, 2012I had a crash on exiting Inventor 2012 (fully up to date, service packs installed etc.) and since that crash I can't open any drawing (.idw) file in Inventor: it appears to hang, with no processor activity etc.
The same files open, view and print fine with Inventor View.

Feb 4, 2013On opening a C3D 2013 drawing, C3D hangs for about 5 minutes. At the bottom of the screen is the message: "Upgrading COGO points". This drawing is only 974KB.
The drawing is being opened from a network . I tried saving it on a local hard drive. That had no effect.

Nov 19, 2013Photoshop CS6 was working fine until about an hour ago...now the shortcut it is gone. Looks like the app is gone completely. Went into Creative Cloud and it said CS6 had updates but I am receiving an error code U44M1I210. I am current on payment.

Aug 12, 2012So my whites and grays and everything are PERFECT everywhere but in Photoshop. Granted I don't have a hardware calibration tool, only software, but I've used nVidia's tool as well as several others, and everything is fine, except when I go into CS5. For example, the whites on this page are perfectly fine. However, in CS5 the white is cream colored.
Is there something specific to CS5 that is independent of my monitor as well as every other application that I own that makes it cream? It didn't used to be like this, so I don't know what changed.

Photoshop :: Colors In CS6 Completely Messed Up
Jun 20, 2013My colors are completely off in photoshop from the real image. I've already checked to make sure it's not the monitor, the color is fine there. I've already read the forums that say to simply turn on "Proof Colors." That does changes the colors how they should be. HOWEVER, if I try and export the file out as a png or anything, they are exported with the messed up color rather than the "proof colors." BUT if I open the image up in microsoft paint, it appears to be right, but only with paint. If I open the image with anything else (reader, indesign, picaso, etc.), the color is always messed up. I even tried exporting the png to someone else thinking it was just my computer, no luck. For some reason, I can't export anything without it using crazy colors (just like if "proof colors" was unchecked). I've tried deleting preferance and playing around with the color settings. What can I do?

Feb 16, 2012Its a large file, so i shut down photoshop and then started it back up, like i do all the time. However when photoshop started up again my file i had been working on all week was gone. It could be seen in the recent files, but when i clicked it it said it couldnt find it. So i go to the directory where it should be, and, yup, its gone.
Not in the recycle bin, not anywhere on the drive after many exhaustive searches, and i cant even find it using a disk recovery tool. I have tried recuvra, which took over 2 hours, and nothing. It is completely and absolutely gone, taking away a weeks worth of work with it. I actually need this for tomorrow, but dont have anywhere near enough time to create it from scratch again.

Nov 6, 2008I have recently installed Photoshop CS3 Extended but there was a problem with the serial number on the box. Adobe have issued me a new serial number to use. I uninstalled it all but when i reinstalled it, the original serial number is still there.
How do i completely remove all traces of Photoshop CS3 Extended from my computer so that i can reinstall it with my new serial number? This is a full retail version used on a Windows XP system.

Sep 9, 2013So when I booted up this morning and logged into the CC desktop application it told me that there was a Photoshop update available. I installed the update, opened Photoshop, and my workspace no longer exists. All of my custom settings (scratchpad color, menus, docks... EVERYTHING) has been reset to the "Essentials" workspace. And when I tried to "sync settings" to hopefully pull back my custom workspace from the "cloud" it showed that I had never synced before and seemed to have no information to pull from the cloud. So that did absolutely nothing. I had also saved my custom workspace, but it isn't an option to select in the drop-down menu.
Now I have to spend time trying to remember all of my custom tweaks before I can even get started on my work. At this rate, I'm going to have to screenshot my setup just so I have a record of my workspace in preparation for the next update that wipes out everything. I thought the whole point of "sync settings" was that a backup was kept of everything so this wouldn't happen.My experience thus far with CC has been that every update breaks something in my workflow.
Photoshop :: How To Map / Morph One Image Completely Into New Shape
Apr 16, 2011I want to take a map of a country and change the shape of it to fit exactly into another complex shape (e.g. a puddle of water, an animal outline, etc).
To be clear, in doing this I don't simply want to mask the original map image to "cut out" the chosen shape, I need to keep the entire map and distort its shape into the new shape. I'm also not talking about using displacement maps to "wrap" the map around a second object. I guess it's a "shape morph" I'm after, which leaves all the original content and just changes the boundaries.
I know I could use the warp tool, but this requires an incredible amount of time to manually change images to exactly fit a new complex shape. It also means every time I want a new shape it has to be manually done. Given that the warp grid only has 9 squares, this makes it even more difficult to get a good match to the new shape.
For example to choose a few points on the original to map to chosen points on the second shape, such that the software will then interpolate the points in between.
Photoshop :: CS6 - Elements 8 - Print Not Printing Completely?
Jan 24, 2013From time-to-time, I seem to have had a temporary printing issue with Photoshop Elements 8, whereby the photo I was trying to print would not be printed completely, but part of it would be cut off, as if the printer's print-head would not be receiving the data from Photoshop past a certain point in one particular plane.
Up to this morning, I had never encountered any printing issue with Photoshop CS6, which I have had, and printed with, for the past 6 months or so. This morning, however, I encountered the same issue, for the first time, using Photoshop CS6. It is now printing properly again, but why do I occasionally encounter this with either software?
When I normally print, I like to print photos to exact sizes, but which vary greatly, and so I prefer the technique of creating a new blank A4-sized document and dragging my photo into this document and, by using Free Transform, size the photo to my exact requirements, before printing onto good quality A4 glossy or sometimes matte paper.
What happened this morning was that, using the technique above, I was trying to print a very small passport-sized photo over to the right-hand side of a sheet of A4 paper, with the blank document in the portrait orientation. My photo was only partially printed, and cut off past a certain point in the horizontal plane. By dragging my photo further towards the centre of the blank A4-sized document and reprinting onto the same sheet of A4 worked fine. After experimenting a little by printing the photo in various places on the same sheet of A4, I discovered that the photo was not printing past a certain point, in the horizontal plane, towards the right-hand side of the sheet of A4.
This cut off point was consistent in every printing attempt. There was a certain point to the right-hand side of the sheet of A4, where, in the horizontal plane, it would simply not print past. By measuring this cut off point in the horizontal plane, it is 4.8cm from the right-hand edge of the sheet of A4, in its portrait orientation.After resetting all tools, turning the PC and printer off and then on again, launching Photoshop CS6 and retrying, it seems to be printing correctly again, and I am able to print my photo anywhere on the sheet of A4, without anything being cut off past a certain point.

If I have an image with say, for example three layers, and it's 100x100 pixels then I'll usually put a picture in there or whatever. What I want to know, and I've seen this done by other people, is how I delete a part of this picture completely?
What I mean is that if I have a picture up and I want to delete it so that when I post it on the internet I can see the background in that area. I've tried doing this but still I see nothing but the white background. I want to delete that area COMPLETELY.
Is anyone able to help me?
