Photoshop :: CS6 Randomly Crashes Using Intel HD Graphics 4000?

When using Photoshop CS6 on Windows 8 [Surface Pro], it randomly crashes. I normally can only use Photoshop for less than a minute, doing less than ten actions, before it crashes. I get an error message saying "Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working." If I debug it using Visual Studio, I get this message:

I looked up ig7icd32.dll and it seems to be published by Intel and related to my graphics hardware, so I assume the problem is related to my Intel HD Graphics 4000.how to fix this problem or as to what might be causing it?

Graphics hardware enhancements can be enabled in the performance panel of preferences.For more information, visit:[URL]...All my drivers are fully updated, and all Windows updates are installed. No other applications have any problems with my graphics hardware.

I bought a new laptop Asus k73SV-TY081V version. When i'm working with autoCAD 2012, my videocard crashes and i get a message: "Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows 7® stopped responding and has successfully recovered"
this with your installation of Photoshop CS6 or CC? I've seen this happen in both versions. Here's the issue: Â Typically, the problem occurs when creating or modifying a layer style in the layer styles dialog. After assigning some style (drop shadow, stroke,glow, etc.) I occasionally mis-click my mouse prior to selecting the OK button to approve the chosen settings. Photoshop Online Help will suddenly launch in my web browser. It will open a single window or multiple windows randomly, all with the same Photoshop Online Help page loaded (one time it opened more than ten instances in separate windows). Â At this point, Photoshop will typically stop responding, then crash and close altogether, BUT NOT ALWAYS. Sometimes I can continue working. Overall this activity seems to create instability in PS and I'll have to relaunch. Sometimes I'll go for several weeks without an occurrance. Other times it occurs several times in a week or even a day. I currently use PS CC. Â Accidental mouse clicks aren't exactly the easiest thing to troubleshoot, but I can't fathom why that would launch online help or create instability. As much as I have tried, I'm unable to duplicate it manually. Left click, right click, all over the screen while in the layer styles dialog, and I can't make it happen. Â It's not something new that just showed up when I installed CC either. This issue presents itself randomly on several different machines using PS CS6 and PS CC. and has been ongoing for several years now. Been using Master Collection for years and a Photoshop user since 1997. I have tons of memory, tons of scratch disk space, and employ contemporary and FAST processors on all my systems, NO OVERCLOCKING. Everything else is always very stable on all machines.
how the latest generation of Intel integrated video performs in Photoshop, Intel HD Graphics 4400 specifically? Does it support Photoshop acceleration, OpenCL etc?
How many graphic memory can it handle? Who is better performer, Intel HD Graphics 4400 or Radeon 6600M?
I am thinking of getting a new laptop that uses the Intel 4500hmd video processor. This uses shared memory, but the laptop would come with 4GB RAM and run with the Vista 64 bit OS. The latest Intel driver claims the 4500 has open GL 2.0. Has anyone on the forum used the Intel 4500HMD successfuly with Photoshop CS4.Â
i have photoshop cc and it will crash randomly when i like resize or use brush tool. My drivers are up to date and i fresh installed windows 7 64bit. My GPU is a AMD Radeon HD 6800 series and photoshop doesnt reconise my GPU URL....and i used event viewer and this is what i have Faulting application name:

I'm just wondering if it is normal I don't have the 3D feature in Photoshop CS6. I had it installed in my old laptop (an old one with a AMD Vision processor) and the 3D option was available, but after I moved all my old programs to my new one (a Windows 7, 64 bits, Intel Core i5, Intel HD 3000 Graphics video card) this option is not available. I dunno if it's due to the fact that OpenCL is not available in my laptop or if it's anything else.
I just finished 'updating' my VBA code developed over the last 10 years from 'VBA 6' to 'VBA 7'. Â When i view the code in the IDE of AutoCAD 2014, everything shows up fine -- no errors. Â All of the references i need do exist:

When i goto Debug-> Compile, it 'compiles' without errors. Â But when i go to run it, it will crash. Â If i put in a breakpoint, and step through it, i can identify a subroutine that it crashes on. Â But if i do it again and step INTO that sub, it runs fine. Â If i have the code just continue on, it will crash somewhere else. Â Basically for the most part, if i run a macro and have a breakpoint right away, i can put my stapler on the F8 key and just sit back and watch it run (although a 10 second process turns into about half an hour) -- it gets much further along but will still eventually crash.
By the way, the same basic code runs fine on 32bit AutoCAD 2012 (with the appropriate references changes as well as no 'PtrSafe' or LongLong or LongPtr usages)
I have run Revit 2012 on this computer without any issues, but recently switched to Revit LT 2013 and have been having a tremendous amount of problems with it crashing.  I am working on a quad core i7 laptop with 32 gb of ram and a Nvidia GeForce video card with 4gb of ram.  The operating system is Window & 64 bit.  When I initially installed 2013 it would randomly crash on close.  The file was always saved even if I didn't save before close and let it save through the closing process.  It would send a report to Autodesk, but this was an error that I could honestly live with since it didn't cause problems while I was working.   On rare occasions it would crash while I was working in the program.  No warnings, and no report to Autodesk, it would just close and not save what I had been working on.  Becoming a bigger fan of constantly saving.  It also crashed when I was working in the file manager either opening, doing a save as, etc.  I narrowed this arrow down to clicking on a folder with the right mouse button (hoping to rename the folder).  The easy fix was to stop doing that.However, recently it seems to have begun to crash far more often, many times at ten to fifteen minute intervals.  Some of the occasions it occurs at are:
-trying to change the end location or arc of a leader -editing the boundary of a fill region (when launching the trim command) -using the paste command to copy line work from one detail to another.
Each time it will crash it will come up with the window that the program has stopped working and windows is looking for a solution. Â Eventually windows closes the program. Â I have tried turning off the 3d acceleration in Revit and that had disasterous results. Â Revit would load but immediately when loading a file and trying to display the image/drawing.
When using CorelDraw x5 the program seems to just randomly close, with no error message or freezing. It just disappears from the screen and I have to re-open it. I cannot pin point when it is doing it, because it keeps closing upon random tasks, not like it closes every time I try the same thing like saving.
Is it possible to generate a group of shapes with different size randomly in corelDraw macro? For example I want to generate 100 squares with different size and distribute them into the sheet automatically.
I want to buy and Epson 4000 printer for my art photos - I've always done film but I'm switching to digital finally and got 2-3 years worth of stuff scanned. I want to make nice, high-quality, archival prints. Should I buy the regular 4000 printer or the Pro? There is something about Post RIP devices in the Pro - I don't use InDesign, at least not yet, but I have heard that the colors and color targets are better with the Pro. I am still learning the all about digital stuff so I am a little uncertain but I have been doing photography for a long time and I want to make excellent prints. Is it worth the extra $350 or so?
I have a 4000 images (spread across 5 folders) who's file names are all prefixed with 'Rex_'. I need to remove this prefix but would rather not do it manually. Is there an automated way to do this, where the existing file name remains the same, but the Rex_ is deleted? Â I have looked into the Batch Rename element of Bridge but that doesn't seem to cover the deletion of existing file name sections. I am working on a PC using CS6.
I just bought a new 4000 printer and the prints come out a little darker and with a little more magenta than what appears on my monitor.
The monitor has been calibrated using the spider software several times and each time it comes out the the same and I think that part of the process is good.
I have set my color workspace in Photoshop to US press defelts (Adobe 1998) and all seems well there.
The images have been scanned to 8000dpi using a High quality scanner from an outside source.
I open the image and convert to working space RGB, and do my correction to the image which includes more color saturation.
I go to print the image using Adobe1998 as source and the printer paper ICC as the output. I go to advanced options and make sure color correction are turned OFF and print. The images on my printer always come out darker and with more magenta that what I see on the screen no matter what Icc profile I use for every kind of paper.
The softproof does not look that way.
When I print using same as source as the output with color correction sliders set to 0 the print will be much closer but still not quite like whats on the screen.
When I do it the correct way(the first way I discribed) why is my print comming out too dark and too much magenta?
I have, at present, set Camera Raw to open files as ProPhoto RGB and as 360 dpi. I want to keep all options open for later use of the files (for albums or enlargements). How do I get the best results so that I do not diminish the quality obtained in the scanning process (where I try to use only ICE and to leave all other editing to PS later - I know that the changes made by ICE are permanent so that I already here do not have a real RAW - but it is my impression that the choice of RAW over TIFF in the scanning is still worth it).  I have also some older scans but these are TIFF's, also 4000 dpi but only 8 bit. I want to get the best result from both types of files.  I plan to perform all edits before I finally save files in various print sizes. I am still quite scared as to make mistakes when resizing so that I get an inferior quality in the new size. I, of course, keep a copy of the original scans safe and unedited. I am also in doubt as to whether I should go directly into PS or via Camera Raw with the scans.
I have never used an Apple Mac before so I would like to know, what is the difference between using Photoshop in a Mac and in a PC? Assuming that both platform utilizes similar hardware spec...
Mac Pro - When trying to print a file it quits instantly and you have to restart Photoshop... Now, this only happens AFTER you crop the image... if you print the unaltered photoshop file it prints fine.
I currently own a laptop which I use heavily for image editing. It is powered by a very fast Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz and a power-efficient yet perfectly capable Intel X3100 integrated graphics chip.
My chip supports all of the necessary Shader versions, OpenGL 2.0, etc. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA#GMA_X3100 ). However, when I visit the Preferences menu to enable the OpenGL acceleration, I am presented with a grayed-out option telling me I may need to upgrade my drivers or graphics card.
I have tried new driver versions. Certainly I should not have to purchase another card (impossible in a laptop in fact) seeing as my chip supports all of the requisite features.
I have bought my first mac, a brand new Mac Pro dual 2.6ghz.
I am a graphic artist, and so of course photoshop cs2 will be the main program I use. I am wondering how they will be running on the Intel chip that is shipping with the MacPro.
I know that the macbook and imac both run a different intel chip, does CS2 run pretty good on those? Or are the intel mac users at a serious disadvantage until adobe releases a universal version of photoshop?

I have been experiencing constant crashes to the desktop using a fresh install of CS6 while attempting to use the text tool. Â My other problem is that photoshop does not seem to detect my graphics card, it says "Photoshop has detected an error in your display driver" and I cannot access any of the GPU options. Â I have updated to the latest version of Photoshop. I have the latest drivers for my graphics card. Â My setup: Â 3570k 7950 8gb 1680x1050 + 1024x768 Windows 7 64bit
I just downloaded Elements 11 Editor for mac OSX 10.9, and when I try to use any of the new filters (comic, Graphic Novel, etc), it crashes. What do I do?
I have installed several times fresh copies of ps9 and same results the imac intel duo computer WILL NO RESTART unless shut down from back button ,then computer will have to be started manually and thereafter the computer will re start every single time UNTIL I USE ps9 Why ? I have taken the computer to Apple (under apple care) these people don't find anything wrong with the computer,but PS9 software and they are correct, is there any "plist" that needs to be trashed or updates.
Bought Elements 4 in 2007 for my previous Power Mac and now just upgraded to a Macbook Pro and the program won't install . Get the message that this version no longer supported for new the Intel Chip Macs. I know the version is old but worked perfectly well for my purposes.  So do I just chuck that money away and fork out for another prologize? What is the next version?
I have Adobe Design Collection (before it became CS this and that...)   eg Photoshop 7 Illustrator 10 InDesign 2 Acrobat 5.   I've installed Illustrator 10. Fine. It recognised the lack of Classic environment and installed. It runs ok. But Photoshop 7. It installed as per above. But when it attempts to load it hangs with the error, "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a program error. Photoshop will now exit."  I have an iMac dual core Intel 3.O with 4 gigs of ram. SnowLeopard 10.6.8
