Photoshop :: CS5.5 Won't Launch - Closes On Start?
Mar 25, 2012
We have photoshop version 5.5 on one PC (XP) and VS 7.0 on another and though they are old they worked happily for years till just lately, now both fail to launch, "Adobe Photoshop has encountered a problem and needs to close" ??? What could be wrong ?
I have PS CS3 operating on Windows Vista Home Basic (Dell laptop). I installed CS3 about a month ago and it has worked perfectly until now. (I am NOT running the trial version). All of a sudden when I attempt to launch the program it opens and then closes within a split second. (It is not running in the task manager.) I am a photography and NEED my PS to edit photos. I'm in a crunch b/c I have wedding invitations to design and get ordered.
I have been using Ps-CC for about 2 month now with no problems and now this starts to happen. I have tried rebooting my PC to no avail. Should I uninstall PS-cc and reinstall and are there special instructions for this?
I have a client that installed CS6 Productiom Premium with a volume license on multiple Mac Pros and is saying that Illustrator hangs upon launch, meaning, it will take 1-2 minutes to launch the program. Out of all the computers he has installed the software with, one does not have an issue with start-up and launches almost immediately. He is currently looking on his end what is different on that machine compared to the others.
I have walked him through the steps in deleting his Font cache and resetting his preferences and he still reports a hang-up on launch.
Just installed CS5.1 a couple of weeks ago. Runs no problem in 64 bit. But 32 bit is a different story..In Mac, Get info, and set CS5 to open in 32 bit, CS5 launches an instantly freezes with the spinning beach ball.I can't do anything expect force quit.Mac Pro, 8 core, 10 GB ram, OS 10.5x
I need to be able to run in 32 bit for plug-ins that are not 64 bit.
I can't seem to get my profile start and end station labels to appear even after I checked "Label start station" and "label end station" in the profile view properties.
4. chckdsk for error and fix.still error so I've gone through this.
5. I uninstall Autocad 2014 completely, uninstall it manually one by one, deleted left over folder of autodesk or similar software to it, deleted its registry keys.just like the instruction on how to remove autocad completely in autodesk, I just followed it all. [after Reboot]
I want to start AutoCAD LT without the empty drawing. Just AutoCAD and the welcome screen. How can i do that? I always close the first drawing and begin a new one by choosing out of several templates or start with an existing drawing, rename and modify it. For NEW or OPEN i like to use the welcome screen.
I just installed 3DS Max 2012 with a student license, but I encountered a problem that doesn't seem to go away. Whenever I open it, it gets to the "Starting 3DS Max 2012" screen and then freezes. The process freezes as well. Is there a way I can fix this? I have Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-Bit, and a Dual-Core Processor. My computer meets all the System Requirements except an insufficient video card.
I have a VB .NET Dll that add a new ribbon in AUTOCAD.When I load this dll from AUTOCAD, this new ribbon is well added.I'm trying to start this dll with AUTOCAD Start.
I've tried to load the DLL from the acad.lsp but the DLL is loaded before AUTOCAD load the ribbon, then the dll is well loaded but my new ribbon is not displayed !.
Whenever I try to run an action or use batch I get an error message that Photoshop CS 5 will now close. What if anything can I do? I am running XP. There are actions in the plugins/actions folder. The actions tab contains my actions and the original ones.
I have CS5 and Photoshop opens fine. However, when I try to open a file, photoshop closes immediately. I re-installed photoshop and the same thing happens. How do I fix this?
I am using Photoshop CS3 on a PowerPC Mac running OS X 10.4.11. Some days ago, I attempted to run photoshop by clicking the icon on the dock. The splash screen loads fine but immediately as the splash screen loads photoshop closes automatically. I have already tried the following:
1. Rename TWAIN file by adding the ~ in front of it
2. Deleting photoshop preferences by using Command+Shift+Option .
I’m getting the following error message when ever I try to use Move Tool and the program gets close. “Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available”Video card driver is updated.
I have recently downloaded elements 12. It runs just fine. However, after three saves it will no longer load/open. If I resart the computer it will load again one or two times and then I need to restart again.
Computer is new HP Envy w/2.4GHz chip, 8 Gb memory and 1 Tb drive and Nvidia graphics card. Running Windows 8 64 bit, AVG antivirus with windows firewall.
This happened last week when I first installed it. Tech support repaired the installation and it began to work again. Now it stopped again after I used it only twice?I click the icon, the opening window appears, I click Photo Editor, the program blinks and closes by itself. I am at a lost as to where to go from here. I order the magazine and support today and can't open the program!
After I push Move Tool button I cannot use any of the buttons bellow in that tool bar, when I try any button after it on closes the program with windows error ''adobe photoshop cs6 has stopped working''
Since I have a new laptop with Windows 8, I couldn't get Photoshop CS6 anymore, so I downloaded PS CC. It's working great the last days, but since yesterday PS freezes or closes every time I try to save a .gif in save for web and devices.
I just installed the adobe cs6 creative suite yesterday or the day before, but today was the first time I tried to launch PS. Each successive time that I've tried, I have gotten these two messages immediately after the program finishes loading:
I can't go to the preferences panel to attempt to fix the problem addressed in the first dialogue because PS will not stay open long enough to allow me to do so. I also googled the issue and the majority of people seemed to say that holding down ctrl+alt+shift as the program loaded would present me with a dialogue that would fix the problem, but when I tried it nothing happened.
I have downloaded the trial for PSCS6 extended and every time I try to warp text, it stops working and closes. It says it is a DEP issue however, you cannot turn off DEP for photoshop?
Also, is it worth me deleting the program and re-downloading it... and if I do that, will my trial continue from its current point?
I have Elements 10 and use a Windows 7 machine. When scrolling to select a file to open the program closes. This occurs when I scroll down to RAW files. It happens before I actually select a file. The program does not freeze but just closes.
I am using Elements 10 with Windows 8. When I select panoramic merge, the software closes down and I get an error message saying that its encountered a problem and closing dow.
Here’s the problem: Polygon Lasso decides to close the selection FOR NO REASON AT RANDOM.
Let me clarify that I am an advanced Photoshop user (certified expert by Adobe). I know all Photoshop tools inside and out and this is DEFINITELY not user error. Photoshop CC is glitching and it needs to be fixed. Thing is, this only started for me very recently; within the last few weeks. (Kinda close to when I updated to Mavericks on my mac but I’m not sure that has anything to do with it)
To re-iterate, this is NOT a double-clicking issue or anything done wrong by me. Making lots of small lassos joined by the shift key is also NOT a solution. Switching to the pen tool is also NOT a solution because my workflow depends on the speed of the lasso tool.
I just recently installed CS4 on my new computer running Windows 7. Everything I read says that there is no compatibilty issue but when I try to open a file (any file) the program stops working and just closes down... no explanation
I have a 64 bit quadcore with 8 gigs of ram. Ran the program on a 32 bit system using Vista previously with no issues
