After I push Move Tool button I cannot use any of the buttons bellow in that tool bar, when I try any button after it on closes the program with windows error ''adobe photoshop cs6 has stopped working''

I’m getting the following error message when ever I try to use Move Tool and the program gets close. “Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available”Video card driver is updated.

Let me clarify that I am an advanced Photoshop user (certified expert by Adobe). I know all Photoshop tools inside and out and this is DEFINITELY not user error. Photoshop CC is glitching and it needs to be fixed. Thing is, this only started for me very recently; within the last few weeks. (Kinda close to when I updated to Mavericks on my mac but I’m not sure that has anything to do with it)
To re-iterate, this is NOT a double-clicking issue or anything done wrong by me. Making lots of small lassos joined by the shift key is also NOT a solution. Switching to the pen tool is also NOT a solution because my workflow depends on the speed of the lasso tool.
I've been using Photoshop for more than 10 years now, more extensively in the last couple of years. I am a perfectionist, efficient and work very fast.
I don't understand why Photoshop programmers are not listening to their users and considering requested features to perfect Photoshop...but concentrating more on, like adding yet another set of filters or more polygon shapes we don't need !
One of the most important tools in Photoshop, for me at least, is the LASSO SELECTION tool. I generally have at least 15 layers for a project, you can probably guess that the SELECTION tool is my best friend.
The most frustrating thing using Photoshop is : the mouse double-click to close the SELECTION. You have no idea how many hundreds of times for the last 10 years I've cursed the Mother-F out of Photoshop...and time wasted on re-selecting again...
Don't advise me to modify my mouse double-click speed, or using the pen tool to select and reconverting to work path...those are not THE SOLUTION and you know it ! I've hoped for years now, for a new feature in every new version of PS preferences to disable the selection double-click.
I try to select and move a layer using the Move Tool, another layer is immediately selected and moved instead.
Also, if I have layers inside a folder and try to move one of those layers, the entire folder is selected and all layers within that folder move.
I have not grouped any layers together.
I'm using Mac OS 10.4.8 with PS 9.0.1
I am using the trial version of CS5 (probably going to upgrade at the end of the trial), and I've only found one thing about it that I don't like more than CS3. This is VERY VERY annoying, and I'm not sure if it's a glitch, or just a preference that needs to be reset:
When using the move tool, I will move something and it will just snap back to where it originally was. When it snaps back, it might move a few pixels over in the direction I was dragging, but it is definitely not moving to where I want it to go. The only way to get things to move the way I want to is by Free Transform...but it's annoying, when you're trying to design a layout, to have to free transform every element you want to move, first.
I'm guessing that this is a glitch because sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't...it's pretty random. I've tried turning Snap on and off, and nothing changes.
have the problem of the Tool Palette not staying docked when you shut down ACA 2012? I have to reload it every time.

If I presses and hold the Alt key I see the cursor change from the current tool to the eyedropper tool. View 1 Replies View RelatedI started learning Photoshop CS4 about a month ago. One of the first things I learned was to add text. Simple, fun. I am now trying to learn about layer masks. One of the exercises in one of my books is to open an image and then add text to it. (The idea is to then add a mask and 'hide' portions of the text behind portions of the image.) A really strange thing is happening when I try to add text. I highlight the image in the layers column. (Prior to adding any mask layers.) I then click the text tool. But when I click on the image (in the area where I want the text), the text tool 'becomes' a move tool. A text layer pops up and the words I'm trying to type on the image come out in the title area for the layer (in the layers column). I've tried everything I can think of to 'get' the text on the image but can't solve it.

I'll be painting and I'll bump the middle button on my wacom pen and I'll get the circle of circles that spins forever... until I force quit. It's so cumbersome. I have my middle button mapped to the middle mouse click.
I use a mac and currently on CC. I have an intuos 5 but It used to happen to my three too. It's been less of a problem lately because of the crash recovery feature but it's still a huge problem...Like if there was an auto save feature or something then I'd be less frustrated.
I seem to have trouble articulating what's going on as well because all I get back is... did you update the drivers? it must be a wacom issue. try an update... etc.
The wheel spins but the pen still draws... like... FML
I try to use photoshop CC and it crashed EVERY single time I click the move tool, no matter what document I have open. I haven't been able to do much else with it to see if it crashes in other places or not. It crashes on both the 64 bit and 32 bit version.
I have windows 7, 64 bit. I have an AMDHD 7700 graphics card and I also use the integrated Intel 2500 graphics for more monitors.
I have 16gb of ram. I have just updated both of my video card drivers to try and correct the problem, but it has not fixed the problem.
I also get the "Photoshop has detected an error in your display driver" when I go into the performance tab in preferences.
downloaded cs5.1 and can not use my move tool.

After loading JPEG into CS6 I select move tool. I use to just grab bounding box and pull outwards to resize and now when I pull outwards it basically zooms inside frame. How do I fix this?

View 8 Replies View Relatedwhen I go to choose the move tool and I'm on a specific layer that I want to move, I left click like I've always done for years to move it on the canvas and and instead of having that one layer move (on the canvas, not on layers window) it picks up the root group and moves everything. The highlighted (selected) layer also turns to the outer (root) group folder, instead of staying on that layer.
