I am trying to change this to win50k from Zip-P..I need to move the lightning bolt over..layer # 18..but I cannot grab and move the object with the hand tool..The help does not offer a simple answer to a very basic operation. Just want to move the lighting bolt to the right a bit..yes I think something this simple should be idot proof - and work like powerpoint...or the tool is too complex in my book...
there's an invisible 10px border around each object/shape. it's so frustrating when i'm working on small icons or whatnot.i'll try and give an example the best i can... say i have two squares overlapping and are offset from each other by a 5px or so. if i want to select the back square, i'd normally... click on the part of the square i can see. in cs6, if i just click on the visible part of said square, it would select the front square. i have to click at least 10px out from the back square to select it.
I am using the trial version of CS5 (probably going to upgrade at the end of the trial), and I've only found one thing about it that I don't like more than CS3. This is VERY VERY annoying, and I'm not sure if it's a glitch, or just a preference that needs to be reset: Â When using the move tool, I will move something and it will just snap back to where it originally was. When it snaps back, it might move a few pixels over in the direction I was dragging, but it is definitely not moving to where I want it to go. The only way to get things to move the way I want to is by Free Transform...but it's annoying, when you're trying to design a layout, to have to free transform every element you want to move, first. Â I'm guessing that this is a glitch because sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't...it's pretty random. I've tried turning Snap on and off, and nothing changes.
What happened to the option/enter command in the move object dialog that has been around since the early days of Illustrator??? Instead of having to mouse click the "copy" button in the move object window, one could just hold down option with Return or Enter and the Copy command would happen rather than a simple move. Immensely useful for prepress work!
In ps7 editor I can have 2 pictures cascaded and using the marquee tool and the move tool insert a section of one picture into the other. I cannot do this in ps11, what am I doing wrong?
I hit the zoom tool to zoom in on my document. Say I want to zoom in 5 times. After zooming in once (clicking on the document once), the magnifying glass switches to the move tool cursor If I click again, slowly, it goes back to zooming.
When I have a none vector tool active for example the brush tool and I press and hold the Ctrl key down I see the cursor change from the current tool to the move tool cursor. If I presses and hold the Alt key I see the cursor change from the current tool to the eyedropper tool. If I press and hold both the Ctrl+Alt keys a see a cursor icon change to an icon that has two up pointing Arrow heads one Black the other White. What tool is that cursor for? It seems to copy and move the current layer and move its position over the canvas.Â
I'm want to drag an objects anchor and have the position co-ordinates offset by opposite amounts so it doesn't appear to move postioin on screen. IS there a tool for that?
I started learning Photoshop CS4 about a month ago. One of the first things I learned was to add text. Simple, fun. I am now trying to learn about layer masks. One of the exercises in one of my books is to open an image and then add text to it. (The idea is to then add a mask and 'hide' portions of the text behind portions of the image.) A really strange thing is happening when I try to add text. I highlight the image in the layers column. (Prior to adding any mask layers.) I then click the text tool. But when I click on the image (in the area where I want the text), the text tool 'becomes' a move tool. A text layer pops up and the words I'm trying to type on the image come out in the title area for the layer (in the layers column). I've tried everything I can think of to 'get' the text on the image but can't solve it.Â
OS: Windows 7 64bit    Ps: Cs6  Is there a way I can move an object 1/2 pixel? Is there a modify key that I can use along with the arrow keys or something like that?
how do i move the object i selected with magic wand to another layer in a different page like i tried but when i tried it didn't let me instead it didn't even move the other layer look for yourself.
[URL]......... Â I tried doing the same thing this guy did in this video

Skip the video all the way to 1:25 where he moves the object.
If I drag an effect from the target circle of one object to anther in the layer's panel it replaces the effect along with all appearance. But I want just to add the effect. For example, a layer has a drop shadow and a path, round corners. I want to move the drop shadow from the layer to the path so that the path now has the round corners and the drop shadow. To do this I have to open the shadow effect of the layer wright down its parameters, then create a shadow effect for the path with the same parameters which is a lot of work.
In Transform controls I have write exact distance X: 1240.00 pixels (1. Picture)When I click ok, the object remains in its previous location by the guide .1240 .50 pixels (2. Picture). URL....
When using adaptive wide angle on a smart object, the smart object mask does not change while the image does.
This results in a double image where the mask doesn't fit the new image. How do we get the mask to change with the image?
Masking after AWA is no better. This is equivalent problem with lens correction.  I've tried AWA on the mask, no luck. Sure I can dupe the layer & rasterize and mask, etc., but I dont want a bunch of extra layers and MB.
I try to use photoshop CC and it crashed EVERY single time I click the move tool, no matter what document I have open. I haven't been able to do much else with it to see if it crashes in other places or not. It crashes on both the 64 bit and 32 bit version.   I have windows 7, 64 bit. I have an AMDHD 7700 graphics card and I also use the integrated Intel 2500 graphics for more monitors.  I have 16gb of ram. I have just updated both of my video card drivers to try and correct the problem, but it has not fixed the problem.  I also get the "Photoshop has detected an error in your display driver" when I go into the performance tab in preferences.
I'm having a weird problem in Photoshop CS6. I just installed it and I've been getting strange "artifacts" when I use the move tool. Also, when I work with text it displays poorly. It looks rough and not anti-aliased. I'm running Windows 7 64bit and have AMD 6850 GPU. Â [URL]...........
After loading JPEG into CS6 I select move tool. I use to just grab bounding box and pull outwards to resize and now when I pull outwards it basically zooms inside frame. How do I fix this?
when I go to choose the move tool and I'm on a specific layer that I want to move, I left click like I've always done for years to move it on the canvas and and instead of having that one layer move (on the canvas, not on layers window) it picks up the root group and moves everything. The highlighted (selected) layer also turns to the outer (root) group folder, instead of staying on that layer.
where I can't use the move tool with the mouse properly. I'll go and select a single item on a layer and then try to move it with the mouse (move tool). I've done this before and still do it all the time on Photoshop on my other machines. However, on my laptop it won't work. I grab the single object I want to move and the second I move it, it defaults to moving every single layer in my file.
My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit & Radeon graphics card. I have been having trouble with my space bar. This is what I've been doing... Â New Layer > Ellipse tool > Draw a cirlce > Duplicate Layer > (reselect) Ellipse tool > select the Subtract Front Shape < this is where I need to use the space bar so that I can center the new circle (inside) so that I have a nice border that's evenly spaced around the entire circumference. Â However, when I go to hold down the space bar so that I can use my mouse pad to move the circle around it will not move and the hand icon does not appear. The box that contains the H/height & W/width gains the X & Y information. However, intermittently the hand icon will appear but even when it is present I still cannot move anything. When the hand icon does intermittently appear I have not changed anything. Â I have checked to make certain that my mouse pad doesn't have any sort of setting(s) that would prevent the mouse pad action when a key is being pressed ~ at least to the best of my rather newbie experience. Â I have read that some have had problems with CS5 regarding this same matter but their issue was resolved simply by closing whatever browser they had open concurrently (with Ps). I tried this but it did not resolve my problem. Â I had used the Beta of CS6 and it worked just fine which I find rather odd. I reset the preferences by hitting Shift+Alt+Ctrl and that also did not work. Also, if you don't know how I could go about resolving this issue do you know of an other way in which I would be able to move the circle when the Subtract Front Shape is in use? I have tried making the new circle and then just using the Move tool at the top of the tools bar.
Move tool was always snapping objects I'm moving before... What I meant by snap is, for example, I'll move an object right beside the left end of the document, it'll snap. And if ever I want to add a tiny bit of space between those two, I'll hold ctrl so it'll get rid of that 'snap' function. Â Since the time I upgraded to CS6 Extended, It was working fine for a while. Until days ago, the problem started occuring. It won't snap anymore.
Photoshop CS6 shuts downs when using the move tool. It seem as to run fine until i try and use the move tool. PS worked fine just a few weeks ago and now it has this issue. What can i do to resole this issue? Â -- System Specs Windows XP Home SP3 AMD Atholon 64 X2 Dual 2GB RAM Video Cards Radeon 7200 NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS
All of a sudden the Move Tool no longer works. When I try to move an layer on the screen with the Move Tool it moves slightly then jumps back to its original position. The only way I can move a layer at the moment is to use Free Transform, which is not ideal.
