View 1 RepliesI just installed the adobe cs6 creative suite yesterday or the day before, but today was the first time I tried to launch PS. Each successive time that I've tried, I have gotten these two messages immediately after the program finishes loading:
I can't go to the preferences panel to attempt to fix the problem addressed in the first dialogue because PS will not stay open long enough to allow me to do so. I also googled the issue and the majority of people seemed to say that holding down ctrl+alt+shift as the program loaded would present me with a dialogue that would fix the problem, but when I tried it nothing happened.
My GIMP 2.8. closes down immediately after exporting an image. When I overwrite it, it doesn't happen. How can I prevent GIMP from closing down after exporting images?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when you press the space key to end a line when you drawing with the bézier tool, it automatically takes you to the pick tool. So if you want to draw another line right away, you have to switch back to the bézier tool. It would be nicer to have a one-step means of doing this. Does any exist?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues with the 64-bit version of Photoshop CS6. Immediately after attempting to open an existing file or create a new one, Photoshop completely freezes, with no error messages/dialogues, and I end up having to force close it from Windows Task Manager. This happens every single time. I had this same issue with the beta, and it continues into the full release. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing it multiple times to no avail.
I haven't had this issue with previous versions of Photoshop (CS 5 & 5.5), and the 32-bit version of CS6 runs fine. However, for obvious reasons, I would prefer to use the 64-bit version of the software to take full advantage of what my machine is capable of.I'm running this on a HP Envy 17 laptop, with an Intel Core i7 processor (1st-gen), an AMD Radeon HD 5850M graphics card, and 8GB of RAM.
When I make a change to my image (paste, deletes, fills or make layer adjustments) the picture doesn't update until I zoom in or out or click on another tool.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter an apparent successful install of Photoshop CS4, both with a valid serial number and as a trial, PS crashes at the blue splash screen with "encountered error and needs to close", and just shuts down.
My system is a Core2Quad, 9550, running Vista Ultimate 64, 8 gb ram, with a ATI 4850 512 MB card. This is a virgin computer built for Lightroom 2 (which runs like hell on the machine) and PS, with NO other apps running except virus protection. (AVS? that came with the mother board.)
support files, all of the MB, Vista, and ATI drivers updated, talked to support for one hour, and still no resolution. I do know that it generates the GPUInitfail file, but does still not launch or get any further after it generates that file. I have cleared temp, prefetch, re-installed several times and still nothing.
I have an infuriating problem with Elements 4 crashing immediately after an install on mac OSX 10.4.11, I was given the computer, which still had Elements 4 on it although it always crashed on opening, i removed the program and bought a 2nd hand hard copy of Elements 4 from eBay.When i install the new copy it opens up with the "credits" but at the bottom right it still shows the past owners name as licensee briefly, then crashes before fully opening.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst Photoshop doesn't recognized my GPU which is Nvidia GTX 680M. I'm using a new Alienware R4 with Win8 pro.
Photoshop CS6 doesn't recognize my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M GPU?

After following the instruction now Photoshop CC is supposely using my NVIDIA GPU, but it immediately crashed after launching, for both 32 bits and 64 bits. My NVIDIA driver version is 320.49 600 series, the latested one I just updated. If I deselect the NVIDIA option in the control panel I no longer suffer the crash problem but as you know there is a reported problem with Intel HD4000 integrated GPU where screen flickering keeps happening if you use a toolbox. To avoid the problem the only thing I can do is to deselect the use GPU option in CC option (changing the mode advanced setting doesn't work). By deselcting the GPU option get rid of the problem but there is another problem with zooming: it cannot zoom in real time anymore, instead it's having a toolbox where you choose a reagion and it will jump to that region, and I can only zoom in by doing this, not zooming out.
So basically I had a problem with NVIDIA which crashes CC immediately and a problem with Intel HD4000 integrated GPU with flickering screen and another problem with no GPU selected where I cannot zoom in real time. Whatever I do always give me some sets of problem that I can't solve.BTW I haven't try CS6 yet, I may proceed to download a trial copy and I thought CC and CS6 are using the same core. Nevertheless, those problem should definately be looked into.
I'm attempting to use CS3 on a Dell laptop- 64 bit- Windows 7.
When first installed it worked fine, then suddenly it was non-functional. It will open, but ANY request at all will cause it to freeze. I have to close it through Task Manager. I get no error messages, and when I went in to view the event viewer there is nothing there under Applications.
I've changed the default printer to a non-network but haven't done much else as I don't have administrative privileges on this (work) computer. We tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that did nothing.
I installed both PS CC and BR CC for a second time and received and installed the first updates for CR 8.1 but still I cannot open PS CC without it closing on me immediately again. And when I try to open any photo in PS CC from Bridge CC I get asked if I want to save that file before I close PS CC. With no alternative to do anything else.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working in AutoCad MEP 2013 and have some drawings where I have xref'd in a tif file for a background. When I initially open the drawing the tif has to be reloaded. If I do this right away after opening the drwing it says it cant be found. If I wait let's say 5-10 minutes and go back and try again then it will load. the tif is set to relative path. It's like the computer is taking a long time to find the file. This is not happening with every drawing in which I have an xref attached to a drawing. Sometimes all the background load immediately and sometimes they behave like this.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis behavior started in LR2. Thinking back it may be related to OSX upgrade to Snow Leopard. After I hit print, the print job is sent to the printer and almost immediately “disappears” like nothing was sent. I have also gotten an error message of “/Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpll.app/Con tents/MacOS/rastertoescpll failed”. This only occurs in Lightroom. My workaround is to take the image into Photoshop and print from there. This happens with both of my Epson printers and also with an HP LaserJet, so I think it is a LR problem and not an Epson problem. All drivers for all printers updated to latest available for Snow Leopard. The behavior continued with LR3. Fixed itself for awhile, then in the middle of printing a series of prints, started again. I cannot print from within LR at all. MacBook Pro 2.16 core 2 duo, OSX 10.6.4, LR3, Photoshop CS3.
Through google searches I found the “rastertoescpll failed” issues reported after Snow Leopard, but they were related to Epson printers, and not just LR related and fixed with driver updates. This has not worked for me.
I really like the LR print module.
When I run CS4, after about 5 minutes ( of non-use), it closes automatically.
It was working fine until last night.
I have Windows XP Home Edition.
Our company is using 2012Lt and has a couple (3) regular templates we use. The problem is I have to keep going back to the templates and clean them out (txt styles, layers, etc) and what I suspect is happening is that someone starts a new dwg does some work and the auto save kicks in before they "save as".
Question, is there a way to force someone to "Save As' immediately after they start a new dwg?
I started having this problem today: Whenever I try to insert a block (either from the command line or the pull-down menu), the dialog box appears for a fraction of a second and immediately vanishes. There are no options on the command line after this, and the main window loses focus. At first I thought it was somehow ending up behind the main window, but that's not the case. Hitting escape brings focus back and the program runs fine otherwise until I try and use the insert command again.
I installed the SP1 update earlier today, but this problem didn't start happening until hours after that. I then tried to do a fresh install, and the problem was still there before I reinstalled SP1, so I don't think that's the problem.
This first starting happening after creating a block, the same way I always do, but I don't see what I could've done. This problem isn't limited to a specific drawing of mine, it happens with all my files as well as new ones.
Probably a very simple problem, but I have just installed the program for the first time and do not yet know my way around it. But when I pull photos in from my digital camera directory, they immediately display a warmer orange hue. However, I have not touched any of the settings at all. If I immediately export the photo, it matches the original on my HD. So there seems to be some kind of calibration problem with the real jpeg colors and the colors on screen in Lightroom. What can I do about this?
FURTHER DETAILS:
When I hit IMPORT and have the photo selection window come up, all the colors are fine. When I select a photo and actually import it, the colors are orangey. Where the heck is this change of color coming from? All I have done is install the program! I haven't adjusted anything.
When trying to open, then immediately the error occurs.

Just upgraded to MAP 3D 2013 - when I click on the icon or type command qvlayout, the view of the layouts opens momentarily but then closes again instantly. Seems to do it randomly - I'll be using the command and it works as per usual but then it starts to act up. Doesn't seem to matter where I place the cursor, or what (if any) other drawings I have open. I've never had this issue with earlier versions..
