View 3 RepliesI try to open a file from inside Photoshop CS2 on my new Windows Vista laptop, if I try to change directories by clicking on the directory list on the left side of the open window, I get an error: "Adobe Version Cue - The operation could not be completed. There was a problem with the selected file or folder. It might have been moved, renamed, or deleted. - Error Code -6640" I does this while saving too, which means I have to save files, then go back into Explorer and move them manually.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm going to describe this as best as I can: I have Design Premium CS3 installed for a couple of days now on my new Vista64 Home Premium, and it was working perfectly until today. I installed: Illustrator, Indesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop CS3, Acrobat 8 out of the complete package. Suddenlty today, Photoshop will hang when I try to open it.
Not even the intro screen appears, but the process can be seen in the task manager (processes tab), still open, but with a particular memory size: 4740 k (it doesn't change or nothing). CPU usage is at 00. It won't show in the application manager. The thing is, all the rest of the apps I installed work perfectly. Only PS is giving me this trouble. Code:
I've been using Photoshop Elements 5.0 for a few years now on my PC running Vista. Beginning just a few days ago (and unconnected to any updates of which I am aware), I started getting an error when I tried to delete or import files in the Organizer. The error says: ODBC data source [Microsoft] [ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot open database "I". It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt. The photos are there - I can see them in Windows Photo Gallery. I can delete photos from there as well. Just not in Organizer. Wondered if anyone might be able to point me in a good direction for a fix?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI run Autodesk Land Desktop 2004 on Vista, it works, kind of.
I get this error message when I open the program: "Error writing the acamap.sys file"
When I say OK to the message, the program starts working.
At the end when i close the program i get this message: " Autocad application has stopped working"
The next message after this is: " Download updates for 2004"
Any way to avoid these annoying messages?
I have a .psd open in cs2 that I am trying to save as a .jpegcbut every time I try I get an error message: "could not complete your request because of a program error". I have never encountered this before and need the jpeg version urgently.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using Photoshop to create multi page pdf documents, using psd files with layers so that the text is selectable. A few months ago, this worked fine. Having not used this function since, today I tried to design a new brochure only to find a block of text was not appearing in the pdf document. Or it was appearing but messed up - mostly missing but some is there, some is invisible. Single line text is fine. Through trial and error I discovered text box text is fine, as long as the text doesn't go over two lines.
I tried an old document, which I have already made a brochure with so I know it used to work, and it now has the same error. I also tried simply saving the file as a single pdf doc and it has the same problem, so its not only the multi page function. I've tried different fonts and different size fonts.
I have updated Photoshop, but that hasn't solved the problem.
So, I have a .PSD file I want to Re-save Over the existing one already on the hard-drive, but everytime I save the file it says the file is "Locked, unlock it in Properties, via Internet Explorer options".
Well, none of the layers in the file are locked. I tried the settings on my computer and didn't find any option that related to the error. The question is, What type of setting in Internet Explorer might have caused this, and How do I fix it?
After that, I tried saving a Different file I was working on, and it saved- with no Error-message.
Is it a security setting? But, if so- why does this problem only occur with This file and not others?
When I try and save a Photoshop file, I get the following error message:-
Could not save (filename). because the file is already in use or was left open
I have rebooted my computer, rebooted our server, un-installed & reinstalled Photoshop and also done a system restore, and I still have the problem. (The system restore actually caused huge problems I got the error message The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call customer support, except I wasnt able to reinstall or uninstall the product. The computer just would not run the installer. I had to undo the system restore.)
I can do Save For Web with no trouble and I can save files to the same location with every other Adobe product installed in the Web bundle, just not Photoshop.
We have 2 machines here with an identical set up (hardware and software) and the problem is only on one machine.
Even though Photoshop says it cant save the file, its actually saving the file in the following format:-
~psX.tmp where X is a random variable, either characters or numbers.
I have to manually open My Documents and rename the file to filename.psd so I can access it again.
Short of reformatting my computer (which Im not keen on doing because it will mean several wasted work hours and I will have to pay our IT people to come in and hook me back up to our network),
I am running Photoshop CS3 Extended on a Windows XP Pro, with SP2 installed. The computer has two hard drives installed. On all previous versions of Photoshop I've been able to save a file to my 2nd hard drive easily by typing "D:image.jpg"
When I try to do the same in Photoshop CS3 I get an error message that says "could not save as d:d:image.jpg because the file name was invalid"
So I have to hit SHIFT+CTRL+S then type "d:" and then type a file name, making it a 2 step procedure to save a file now. If I don't follow this procedure, and just type the filename it saves the file on drive C: in a subdirectory.
Obviously it's a path error, but I've never had a problem with a straight out command "D:image.jpg" on previous versions and looking at the Preferences options or doing a search for this error didn't shed any light on this issue.
With Photoshop CS6 Extended when i go to save image as jpeg it shows as file name.iff, if save as png it shows file name.pxe and save file as pdf it shows file name.pcx. All formats seem to show another format.I have done all the updates. On a mac as well.

I'm using CS5 extended, version 12.1, 64 bit. My OS is windows 7. It doesn't matter whether it's a JPG file or a PSD, I get the same error message, and I am unable to find a solution so far.
Lately I get this error when trying to save a JPEG or TIFF.
As far as I know, other formats save just fine.
Anyone know whats going on?
I recently updated my adobe software and I am still getting issues with saving layered files. I keep gettting program error - only occasionally. Sometimes saving to my desktop works and other times it doesnt. Other coworkers are experiencing same thing ever since they updated.
It happens when working on a layered file for any length of time and need to save it out as a layered photoshop file. We are forced to flatten and save as a tif and loose our layers. I think it has something to do with background task but not sure...
I have been getting an error message: "Error Saving Project" when I try to save my PSE 10 slide show. I am unable to save any changes. I have closed out the project and opened it again and received the same error message.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis just started happening really recently and I'm not sure at all what the cause is, soWhen opening or saving files, Photoshop displays this error message and closes itself:
Runtime Error!Program: C:Program Files (x86)AdobePhotoshop 7.0Photoshop.exe
R6025- pure virtual function call
and here is a picture of the error message:[URL]...it pops up when saving and opening certain files, but not others. I can't figure out what causes it to happen for particular ones since they are not all in the same location, or the same file type.I am using Windows 7 64bit and this is Photoshop 7.0
Whilst trying to save an edited file in editor I get the following message.
Could not build a preview because of a program error. Im using imac
I'm just trying to update a CS3 illustrator file to 5.5. I continually get the error 'an unknown error has occurred' when saving it. I've copied and pasted each item individually into a new file and then saved to eliminate what the problem is. What i've found is any lines drawn/used are causing the error. How do I fix this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedA colleague of mine made the stupid mistake of using an unauthorized personal computer to save a work file, but she used an educational-licensed AutoCAD.
We do use legally purchsed and registered ACAD 2012 in the office. However, as expected, the file has been marked as being made by an educational version of ACAD and, therefore, cannot be sent back to our client.
A superficial search shows the solution as saving to dxf and back to dwg.
However -and herein lies my problem- when I save as dxf, the following error occurs:
"Error in LTYPE Table
Linetype name with vertical bar is not marked dependent on line 9540.
Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded.
Press ENTER to continue:"
And then nothing happens. I used both the "save as" features, as well as the "dxf out/in" and, since both seem to be the same, neither worked.
Over the past week or so we have had a error. When working in a AI file and trying to save as a PDF we get this error: "Cant save the illustrator file. File may be read only, or the file is in use, or you dont have the required permissions. ID=54". We have to go back to file and re-save every time.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe've been experiencing an issue with saving illustrator files (as .ai). The error message is "unknown error occurred" when attempting to save. Things tried already:
delete preferences file
uninstall/re-install CS6
standardize all fonts to arial
save in another location (desktop, network)
save as .eps
But still same.
This happens when copying components of one ai file to another and trying to save it. Found that removing one tiny piece from a drawing allows the save. There is no text in that piece, just lines and shading.
I am trying to export a 97 page book filled mostly with images to pdf. There are a several pages with solid text. Halfway through Lightroom's saving process, it pops up with "An error occurred while saving the book: an error occurred adding text and fonts to the book."
All the images are in one folder, I have made sure LR is locating the images correctly, and the font is the default myriad pro.
Very often, but no always, when I save metadata in the file, appear an "not known error system" message

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have both 32- and 64-bit versions of Adobe Illustrator CS6 The error occurs only with the 64-bit version,The error occurs only when saving files containing text objects.Unchecking "Create PDF Compatible File" doesn't solve the problem. Resetting Illustrator's settings also doesn't work.
It's pretty much time taking switching between the two versions and I also have files pretty big enough that require opening in the 64 bit version.
