I am trying to save a rgb tif file (file size is 31mb) with a single layer that was applied since opening, the only way I am being allowed to save it is if i flatten the image, which i do not want to do. When I try to save it I get "Could not save "leeo083.TIF" because of disk error.
I am on a Dual 2 GHz G5 with 3 gigs of ram OS 10.3.5 There is 40 gigs of open space on the harddrive. Photoshop CS the file is located on the desktop and I am attempting to save it in the same folder.
I have tried save, save as and get the same error.
Everytime I try to save a file in PS it tells me I can't because the disk is full.I have to save it to the desktop and then cut/paste it into the folder I want.So annoying and time consuming! been doing this for months. How can I correct this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll my MACINTOSH versions of Photoshop - S5, Elements 10, Elements 11 - display the opening start screen, but ABORT THE LAUNCH of the EDITOR with the error message:
"Could not open scratch file because of disk error."
"Could not initialize Photoshop Elements because the preferences file was invalid (it has been deleted)"
I have cleaned up my external disks so that they all have at least 100GB of free space
How can I correct this so that I can recover the Preferences, re-establish the Scratch Disk, and launch the Photoshop Editor?
Windows 7, had everything working fine. Added SSD and installed system from scratch on SSD. Old drive is now my second drive.
Trying to put the scratch disk on the second (old) drive to reduce wear on the SSD. But every time I do, I get the disk error message and it erases all my settings (so annoying!)
I figure it's a permissions thing since I've had to deal with that already to some degree, but I don't know how to fix it since I don't know where adobe is trying to save the scratch file.
If I create a file in Photoshop without coming from Lightroom or duplicate a file in Photoshop that I opened from Lightroom, is there a way to save the new file from Photoshop to the desired directory on my local hard drive and simultaneously have it added to my Lightroom catalog? Or do I need to save the file then import the file into the catalog? I'm working with CS6.

There were some messages posted earlier in regard to this error. Most suggested cleaning temp directory, having more RAM, more graphics memory, etc. I have done everything but I could not overcome this problem. My system specifications are
16GB RAM, Windows 7 (64-bit), More than 100GB free disk space, NVIDIA GEforce GT-120 (512 MB).

I am trying to import a tab from another drawing, and it does not matter which tab or what drawing, I am getting this issue.
With Photoshop CS6 Extended when i go to save image as jpeg it shows as file name.iff, if save as png it shows file name.pxe and save file as pdf it shows file name.pcx. All formats seem to show another format.I have done all the updates. On a mac as well.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm linking an excel file to an .ipt file with iLogic code determining if the Material type is a certian value it will find the correct material thickness. These file work great when working on them thru Vault but when I "Save As Template" and create this file where our other template files are located (not Vault) this fuction does not work. I have realized that I had to place the a copy of the excel file in the same file folder as the template ipt, but even this does not fix the issue.
I recieve this error:
Error in rule: Material, in document: Part6
'MWW Materials (Inventor).xlsx' could not be found. Check the spelling of the file name, and verify that the file location is correct.
If you are trying to open the file from your list of most recently used files, make sure that the file has not been renamed, moved, or deleted.
It seems completly countintutive that just saving the file as a template file would cause this not to work when all files that are required are located in the same file folder. Maybe I need a reference to the excel document within the iLogic code.
so i recently restored my computer back to factory settings .. so my computer doesnt even have any new downloaded app .. i download photoshop cs6 now im getting scratch disk errors ..which i dont see possible if my computer doesnt have anything on it (besides what it came with) my hard drive has 276 gb i only used 33 . i made an external hard drive and that has 8 gb ... also its moving very slow .. also its telling me i cant make an new canvas size 1920 x 1020 with an resloution of 300 .. im using windows 7 Toshiba
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis just started happening really recently and I'm not sure at all what the cause is, soWhen opening or saving files, Photoshop displays this error message and closes itself:
Runtime Error!Program: C:Program Files (x86)AdobePhotoshop 7.0Photoshop.exe
R6025- pure virtual function call
and here is a picture of the error message:[URL]...it pops up when saving and opening certain files, but not others. I can't figure out what causes it to happen for particular ones since they are not all in the same location, or the same file type.I am using Windows 7 64bit and this is Photoshop 7.0
When I try to save a drawing, the box to choose the location, how I want to save doesn't show.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have both 32- and 64-bit versions of Adobe Illustrator CS6 The error occurs only with the 64-bit version,The error occurs only when saving files containing text objects.Unchecking "Create PDF Compatible File" doesn't solve the problem. Resetting Illustrator's settings also doesn't work.
It's pretty much time taking switching between the two versions and I also have files pretty big enough that require opening in the 64 bit version.
I have a friend that is having a hard time saving files as .eps in InDesign, Illistrator and PhotoShop when using a Mac. She is able to create the file and save it so she should have full ownership and read/write rights to the file. Yet when she opens the file, edits it and saves it again, she gets a pop-up stating "Cannot save the illustration. You do not have enough access privileges - ID 5000". The user is the owner of the file. How would she not have access privileges? When she saves the file as an .ai, pdf, or jpg, there is no problem. She also has no problem saving the file on a Windows PC.

View 5 Replies View RelatedStrangely, every time I click "save" in CS6 it opens up a 'Save As' window, (which shouldn't happen), then I click save witht the existing file name (it then tells me the doc already exists), I click OK, (and then OK to the next popup window) then get the message that "This file cannot be found". I'm forced to click "ok" and the doument isn't saved. I've tried saving it differently in previous versions and it still doesn't work. I recorded a video of this behavior. You can see it here - [URL]
Why would it be trying to find a file? It seems like an error message when trying to Open a doc, not Save a doc. I can't shutdown my station until I get the document to save.
I have recently bought a copy of CS6 Production Premium classroom in a book. I am going through it, and am currently busy with lesson 6. In this particular lesson, I need to open a PNG file that was supplied. The PNG file is 53kb. There are a few steps after that, including selecting the object, and using "Image Trace", "Make and Expand". After this step, a few layer deletes are called for. Once all this is completed, I am supposed to save the edited file as an "AI" file. when I select the "Save as" function, browse to the location I wish to save it, and then name it and select "OK", the program freezes for a few seconds, and then I get the dreaded "Adobe Illustrator has stopped working" message. The program then closes, and I have to start again.
I have tried the following solutions so far:
1) Open the file and without any editing at all, try to save - This has the same error
2) Opened the original file in Photoshop and saved it as a PSD file
2.1) Opened the new PSD file in Illustrator and tried to save - This had the same error
3) Created a new Illustrator document. Typed some random text. tried to save as an AI file - This saved with no problems.

We recently changed the location of our CAD Standards (such as Pipe Network Catalog). Can I simply copy the Pipe Network Catalog and paste it to the new location and have everything work the same or do I have to do something special?
This document has been damaged by a disk error. The most likely causes of this error are: a defective disk drive, a defective disk drive cable, or incorrect peripheral cable termination. Some of the pixels in this document may be invalid.

So I just purchased and installed my first copy of an Adobe Suite and now I can't print. Back story: I had CS4 on my machine from my last job and it printed fine. When I lost my job, I went the legit route and installed the demo for CS 6 until I was able to aquire my own copy. CS 6 also printed fine.
I found a version on eBay of CS 5.5 and was eager to install. Yes, it is a full legit version with original disc and packaging; the seller even went so far as to have the liscence transfered over to me. I used the "AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool" to remove all previous versions before doing a clean install of CS 5.5. Everything else in the suite seems to be running normally except printing.
I've looked on the forums and tried several of their suggestions to no avail:
1) I tried changing the "Color Handling" in the print options box.
2) I tired running it in 32 bit mode.
3) I tried fixing permissions.
4) I trashed my preferences and tried the Shift-Option-Command trick
5) I updated the Adobe software (no updates for Photoshop)
6) I reinstalled my printer drivers.
I just printed last night from CS 6 and now no luck today.

scratch disk files...
I have had Photoshop CS5 installed on my system for over a year, and it worked fine all this time under Snow Leopard. Now that I've upgraded to Lion, Photoshop will not open due to these messages:
-Could not open a scratch file because the disk is unavailable.
-Could not initialize Photoshop because the disk is unavailable.
The scratch disk in question is an 80gb partition of a 1tb internal hard drive. If I delete the preferences file (by holding down cmd-shift-opt when starting PS) then it starts up just fine. If I go into preferences and reset it to use the scratch disk, then next time I try to reopen the program I get the same 2 error messages and I have to ditch the preferences again.
There is nothing wrong with the disks, I verified them. And anyway, I've been using that scratch disk with Photoshop for the last year with no issues. It was only after I switched to Lion that this started happening.I need to be able to take advantage of the performance increase that a scratch disk offers.
