technique! My problem is, when coming to extract say a "model"
from a coloured/detailed background
you spend along time trying
to make the selection as neat as possible,but sometimes have a few
missed bits, what is the best way to make the edges a little neater?
I have tried techniques like duplicating the layer and using things
such as "inner glow" etc

Aug 1, 2011Im new to both coreldraw, and to the graphtec cutter, so my problem may have a very simple answer. Ive been playing around with it, learning how things work. Smaller images are no problem, but Im having trouble cutting larger images.
the plotter can cut up to a width of 610mm, and Im using 610mm vinyl. I need to cut some items that are 600mm wide. First time I tried, it left a gap on the left side of approx 50mm. It also stopped cutting approximately 20mm from the right side. next time, I loaded the vinyl into the machine 45mm further right and tried again. this time the left hand edge was positioned where I expected, but the right side still stopped in the same place as previously, leaving a gap of around 70mm on the right hand side. you would think I was trying to cut something bigger than the capacity of the cutter, but obviously this isnt the case.
if I have missed any necessary information etc, Im very new to all of this.

Aug 1, 2011I have downloaded an eps file, which I need to cut. I use a graphtec ce5000-60 cutter, and a plugin called cutting master 2 in order to use coreldraw.
when i select application launcher and choose cut / plot, it opens cutting master. when i do this, it only shows the 2 outer lines of the logo i need to cut. I have attached a screenshot so you can see exactly what I mean. I have tried lots of things to recitfy this, but as a complete beginner with this software, I really dont have a clue.

Aug 2, 2012Is there a way to cut a solid into two pieces using a non-planar cutting plane? I have been tasked with calculating the volume of concrete damage in a chute block. I have a sketch of the damage on the chute block. I created the chute block as a solid and then drew the damaged area extents using plines. This created non-planar plines. Is there a way to get this to work that will allow me to see the volume of the concrete damage? I need an easy way to do this, there are 50 chute blocks all the same size but with varying degrees of damage

Photoshop :: Crop Tool Only Allows Square Images
Mar 27, 2008When I try to crop an image using photoshop the crop tool will only allow a square image, it will not let me have one side longer than the other. I've tried to just use the tool once the box is highlighted to adjust the position of one or more sides but it will only allow me to do this at the corners, once again resulting in a square even though it is a rectangle I want.

Nov 2, 2005I'm trying to blend a couple of images together using the gradient tool.
I moved one image to the other using the move tool, I then added Layer Mask (in the layers palette), i then got my gradient tool and selected black,white.....I used the gradient tool on the left side of the image and it blended beautifully.
So, now that the left side is blended nicely, I attempt to blend the right side. The right side blends very nice.....but my left side went back to where it was originally.
How do I blend multiple sides of the image?

Photoshop :: Unable To Edit Images Drawn By Shape Tool
Aug 5, 2012For some reason after drawing shapes with the shape tool, whether it is one line or a custom shape, I just can't edit it after drawing it. I can't edit it at all and it doesn't appear on any layer. I can delete every single layer and the shape will still be there.
They are not paths, but just to double check I did look under paths but it is empty. It doesn't matter what else I've done, or whether it is a new blank page I can't do anything with any shape once I've drawn it.
I can't get it to select it when I click show transform controls, I can't select it with the marquee tool and delete it (because it isn't on any layer) and I can't place anything over it to cover it.
I have to keep saving before drawing any shape and close and reopen the file if the shape doesn't go quite as I wanted first time. Obviously if I want anything over the shape in any way I can't do it.

Sep 30, 2008I am going through our block library one block at a time (electrical, fire alarm, intercom, low voltage symbols). I have to scale most of them to be 1=1 rather than 10=1, change the default text style, and make sure I've got consistent sizes.
A problem I've noticed on our tool palette that I insert from is, some of the tool images are so small that you don't see what they are, you have to go by the name.
When / how is this image created? I've tried to zoom extents on the file it's self, save it, then use "update tool image" on the pallet.

May 2, 2012I have just updated a whole load of block symbols as some numpty didn't put them on layer 0. When i have created a tool palette of the symbols, 4 of approx 30 symbols have got such a tiny tool image, that its impossible to see them, but oddly the rest are fine.
I have checked the blocks are zoomed to extents, checked the drawing limits are the same ones that are okay, and checked that the size of the block is the same, effectively i can not see any difference between the blocks. Even when i increase the image size to max in the tool palette view options the symbol is to small to identify. Oddly in windows explorer and in ACAD design center there is no issue with the tool image size.
Whilst i could manually create a new image, and tell the tool palette to use it, if this happens with all the blocks, it could be time consuming, when there could be a very simple answer i have over looked.

Mar 6, 2008In LT2008. Dragging blocks (individual files) from ADC to tool palette. Some of the images are unreadable, just a dot or two. The drawing files are saved with the image filling the screen. Changing the size of the image in the tool palette does not work. I have tried plotting to .jpg and .png, the images are grayed. What is the best way to make a nice image for the tool palette to display at a medium size?

Jun 12, 2013I just loaded 2014 onto a new computer and poof every custom toolbar has a question mark. Yet the image displays on the preview in the cui.
All of my button images are in a folder on my C: drive and that path is in the support file search path.
I went to one of the buttons and click on the small and large image and browsed to the folder with the BMP files and clicked it for both small and large.. And when I clicked 'ok' everything started to display correctly.

Lightroom :: How To Remove Spot Removal Tool From Multiple Images
Sep 30, 2013I was shooting some timelapses recently and created thousands of images. I needed to "heal" one dust particle from all of those which I did by using "spot removal" tool but unfortunately it doesn't work well on all images. Now I am stuck with a problem where I have over 7K pics which has that tool applied but I can't remove it from the whole batch in one go.
I've tried syncing with an image that has no "spot removal" tool applied but it didn't work. I coppied settings and pasted them but it only works for one image. I had them all selected and just hit restart on a tool but again it only does that for currently visible pic. I really don't know how to deal with this and I don't want to do it manually with all of them. It's worth mentioning that I could reset all of the settings but I already applied many adjustements to many images so only spot tool is what I want to get rid off.
I am using a Lightroom 5.2

Apr 25, 2007I made a design last night that included me cutting out a model from one of my photoshoots, so I did that... and then after all was said and done, I'm thinking she looks a little choppy and "dropped" into the photo. is there some way to make her look a little more smooth?
I got most of the edges cleaned up and used a feather, and even burned around the edges a tad to make it blend but it still looks very cut out.

Xara :: Copy / Paste Original Images And Converting To Reflections By Using Transparency Tool?
Jan 26, 2011I am having problems trying to produce an image with reflections. I have been doing it in the past with Xara4. My procedure is to take a number of images, create copies of them, flip them then add transparency once they are in place as refelctions. These are all placed onto a dark background; reflections are stretching beyond the background at this stage. And in the past if I select all, then Arrange>Combine Shapes>Intersect Shapes then I can have the whole image without the transparent regions of the reflections. My plan is to have the background transparent and save all as a png to preserve the transparency on web. But it doesn't seem to happen in my latest attempts. Instead at the Intersect Shapes stage I get a tiny part of the background as my final image....
