I was wondering if there was a method to automate in real-time of the match zoom/location function. I have four images open (all the same size, taken with the same camera), and if I drag one image around, I would like the other windows to change their focus location in a similar manner.

I have been using CS6 for a while now and one problem that I keep encountering is the auto-selection of shape layers. Trying to auto-select a layer that's within 10 pixels of a shape layer is impossible without having to zoom in. This is a little hard to explain without images... Cue image...
If you try to recreate the above image, where the black 20x20px rectangle is a shape and the red 38x38px rounded rectangle is rasterized pixels, you will see that auto-selecting the red rounded rectangle is impossible at 100%.
Is this intentional and just an issue for me? Selecting pixel layers in CS5 was never this annoying. It seems that shape layers have an invisible 10px area around them stopping you from selecting anything below them. This is so frustrating with pixel UI work.

One feature I liked from Microstation is the ability to select and open an external DGN reference, and then match the view of the parent DGN, called the "EXCHANGE" command. In AutoCAD, you can also select and open an xref, but the DWG opens to the previous saved view, and not to the desired view that matches the layout.
My thought was to experiment with lisp or script and export the "Viewctr", "Viewtwist" and "Viewsize" variables to a text file, then importing the text file and using the "Viewtwist" as my "SNAPANG" value, then "Viewctr" as my "ZOOM, CENTER" value, and finally the "Viewsize" as the "Enter magnification or height:" value.
But, alas, I have no time, and not quite the knowledge to duplicate MicroStation's open-xref-and-zoom-to-view feature. I hesitate using the REFEDIT, which works fine for regular AutoCAD, but not so much for Civil 3D and the objects it creates (labels and other items with data shortcuts).

I just finished a project in Vx5 pro but was unable to save it. When I tried to save it I got a message "could not save data" and the program shut down. Usually after a computer crash etc when I open Video studio again I get a message "would I like to reload the previous project", however on this occasion it didn't give me that option.
I have it set to do auto backups every 5 minutes but can't find where they are stored. I can rebuild the project but would save heaps of time if I could find the backups.

I have become very attached to having the mouse scroll wheel 'auto center the view at the cursor point' when I scroll in and out...I am not too happy with the new 'hold the wheel down and move the screen position' feature on x6. Can the old wheel configuration/centering be activated in x6?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing a bit of an organization problem with Lightroom 3 which is probably rather easy to fix, but I just can't seen ti figure out how. When I import photos in Lightroom it automatically creates folders (2011-12-14 for example) and I would like to change the location on my computer for these folders, but I can't find where to do it. It now creates these folders in my regular Pictures folder which gets really messy due to this. How can I change this? And how do I relocate all the excisting folders on my laptop, without having to find all the missing photos afterwards.

why i can't not match properties (MP) multileader texts, as you can see on the pic, i want the Mleader text on the right to be the same size as on the left, they are in the same layer, same mleader style but when click MP to match with the one on the left, nothing happen?
I use Photoshop CS2 to create Designs for webpages. These designs have pixel-exact elements, e.g. a 1-pixel-line from top to bottom.
Now when I zoom in (>100, then I have sort of anti-alias, so that the 1-pixel-line isn't only one blue anymore, but it has different blue tones. I guess for photo manipulations etc. this anti-aliasing zoom is great, but for webdesign it sucks because I don't know if only the zoom make the line "corrupt" or if it really is corrupt.
Is there a way to change this zoom?

I currently use Mep 2012 although my question I believe is general in nature. As a sheet metal contractor I do drawings that have many different entities at various elevations. Many times I use change propeties to match the propeties of on entity like a linetype to change another. What I really need to do is have the ability to use a similiar button and match or change the "Z" elevation of a specific entity just like I do for linetype, color etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was using these tool on a lot of images, because they often seemed to vastly improve them, making the colors pop on otherwise somewhat dull ones, and getting rid of unwanted color casts..
Later though I noticed that it is often at the cost of burning out hightlights in some areas beyond salvation.I also find shadow /highlight sometimes does this also.
Then I tried to protect some small areas with a mask before proceeding, but it seems that I can't find information on just painting a mask, but only videos with much more complex adjustment such as the Russel Crow or Lynda ones with maintaing hair detail while superimposing images, which is way beyond what I need in these cases.
If I try the wand to select and inverse I get unnatural looking divisions. Is it a matter of feathering to the right extent?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just moved from 7.0 to CS3 (and PC to Mac) and am currently trying to get to grips with the new features! Once which I love is the auto-align and auto-blend feature(s). My question is, is there any way to control how these features work? I have seen on some web sites people talk about 'fuzziness' sliders where you can control that if an object (pixels) appear in X% of the photos they should/shouldn't be included in the final image but I cannot find these.
My intention is to use these features to take photos of monuments and have the people who are moving about removed from the final image (I guess it's the auto-align that would do this.) I tried a test and took a number of photos at home but I kept moving one object around (a pen.) The pen appears in all the images but in a different location so it always appears in the final image. When I tried auto-align with a stack that included one image without the pen, the pen was removed from the final image. Given the first scenario (i.e. the object is in all the images but in a different location) is there any way of automatically removing it using auto-align or would this have to be a manual process? In the real world, it would be possible to take a photo of a monument with people in different locations but it would be much harder (or take a long time) to take one where at least one person was not in all the photos (there's always someone loitering.)

I am working on getting some settings done, moving from 2008 to 2012. How do you set the Middle Mouse Button (wheel) to either Zoom All or Zoom Extents when you double click it? I thought it was set in the Main CUI file.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy keyboard has a zoom key with + and - selections. I use to use this key in drawings to zoom in and out when in the AutoCAD application when we had Windows XP. Now that I have Windows 7 I can't do this. I can't find out how to assign this key on the Microsoft Keyboard interactive software either. I have the other keys assigned as desired.
Can I still use my keyboard zoom key to zoom in and out in drawings? If so, how do I set this up in AutoCAD, or do I need to do this through a Microsoft keyboard application?
I am having problems with zoom, pan and rotate at high zoom level. The movements becoming jerky and delayed. But for whatever reason the problem exists in some assembly files and not in the others.

I can't find in new max (2013) settings for zoom. I want to set Zoom about mouse pointer and adjust a bit zoom speed (now it is too much for one mouse wheel step).
I can't find zoom settings in 3ds max 2013. Where they are? I think that in previous max it was in Customize -> Viewports tab. But now it is not there.
I've been working on a drawing that requires me to take .dwg files of 3D equipment and place them into my one drawing for general arrangement purposes. I used it once before but now I'm having a slight issue when I use the flatshot command. I seem to remember Flatshot making my new 2d block at the same coordinates as the existing model and that it would be at zero in the Zed axis (x,y,0). My block now appears and various locations, even when i specify coordinates or basepoint it can be off by a good amount. Is there an option that I'm forgetting or something, so I dont have to manaully move my block back to the desired coordinates?
This isn't a major problem since I can manually match the block back up with the coordinates my model is at and then move it to x,y,0 but I feel like theres a way to ensure I dont have to worry about doing that at all.
I tried searching the forums for this topic but the search thing didn't seem to work.
A friend of mine installed Photoshop CS for me (an upgrade from 7.0) and for some reason I can't use CTRL + and CTRL - to zoom in and out, I have to use the mouse with the zoom tool which slows me down quite a bit over the course of 20 or so photo edits.
Can anyone shed some light on this? I checked Keyboard shortcuts in the preferences menu and they were correct. I've made no other changes to the program.
Working in Photoshop 6, I have a .png file where I want to select a portion of the image and adjust the RGB values to particular numbers (in this case, R = 66, G = 79, and B = 87). Normally, I could use the Paint Bucket tool to fill in the selected area, but in this case, the selected area has fine lines in it that would be wiped out by the Paint Bucket tool.
I went to Image --> Adjust --> Color Balance, where I can fiddle with the RGB values. Is there a way, using this tool, to adjust the color levels to match the desired R, G, and B values? Or is it trial and error?
If not, is there another way, other than Paint Bucket or Color Balance, to achieve what I want?
