Photoshop :: Trying To Duplicate Reflective Text Effect
Jun 8, 2007how this type of text effect was made. notice the reflection on top of each letter? there also appears to be a slight gradient and stroke around each letter. (not concerned about wave overlay)
i'm guessing this is some sort of plug-in for photoshop or maybe illustrator? i can't imagine anybody taking the time to do this by hand... at first glance it seems like a bevel effect but i can not duplicate it without going through a long process of filters and adjustments. it seems to be some sort of gel effect...
does anybody recognize this effect?
AutoCAD 2013 :: Render Ground Plane And Reflective Surface
Jul 24, 2013I am trying to use AutoCAD to render some small parts. I am used to using Inventor Studio, but AutoCad's rendering tools have taken some getting used. to. I have everything figured out, with the exception of the ground plane for shadows and/or reflections.
I originally wanted a ground plane for a shadow to be projected on. However, I had no luck with that, so I modeled a large box under the part. Using that, I am able to get a shadow, or reflection, BUT, the edges of the box are showing in the background. The easy fix is to make the box larger, however, I need the reflective surface and background to be white so that it can be printed on paper without seeing the rendered edges.
How can I set a ground plane, or model a plane, for shadows or reflections, AND made it true white so that the edges cannot be seen?

Oct 20, 2012I'm studying for reflective glass bead paint. Now my formulation didn't reflect enough with the light. I'm using 60% glass bead with alkyd resin. However, it's not the same reflected as our bench mark. Any reflective glass bead formula?

Mar 4, 2012I have a lava texture and a ground texture. I'd like to be able to make some cracks on the ground texture that would show through the lava texture below it. Something like a cracked mud look. I would be using this for a game I'm making form some terrain textures. Are there any plugins that would aid in making these transparent cracks and perhaps even add depth to the cracks?
I guess a spider web where the spider was on crack would be something I'm looking for. Similar to the following image:

Apr 19, 2012Some weeks ago I made this drawing for a costumer, which was like this:
When I opened the drawing today it was like this:
As you can see, there are some differences between the two screenshots:
- The texture of the grass changed, now it's les fine;
- The same for the road (you can't see it right now, but it's the same problem as the gras)
- The trees changed, now you can't look 'through' the blocks;
- The color of the cars (blocks) changed, first they had multiple colors, but now they are one (different) color.
3ds Max Modeling :: Applying Planet Surface Texture To Geosphere
Feb 10, 2014I am having a problem applying a planet surface texture to a geosphere.The problem occurs both with and without UVW mapping and it is the first time I have experienced it.(I'm assuming it is something that has been ticked somewhere that I cannot find)

The planet surface texture is a flat space view map. Usually when I apply images like these to spheres it perfectly wraps however this time it is confining the image to one "corner" of the sphere.

Apr 24, 2013How can I create a surface texture symbol (ACM 2011) on a dimension using VBA without interactively selecting the dimension?I have a point on the dimension and the entity name / handle of the dimension which I want to pass to the VBA function.
I am using the code from Introducing the AutoCAD® Mechanical API, Wayne Brill – Autodesk URL....While this code interactively selects the point and the line (dimension in my case), I don't want to use interaction. Instead I have lisp variable.
I have used the vlax.cls to convert the point to a variant and handle to an object. (I could use Users variables instead with more complex code). This works well but the code fails at the line:

This is because the method requires IMcadLine object I have IAcadLine2 object
AutoCAD Inventor :: Knurl Texture On Organic Curved Surface
Jul 20, 2012I need to apply a knurled texture to an organic curved surface. It cannot be a decal, this is to be rapid prototyped so the knurl must be real 3d. I have an imported Solidworks file that shows exactly what I need. I do not have access to the author of the Solidworks part so I don't know how they did it. Its part of a pistol grip handle. Â
Keep in mind that emboss does not support organic surfaces, only cylindrical or planar.
Photoshop :: Sand / Scratched Texture Effect
Apr 20, 2012I'm in a serious spot of bother, I'm trying to create a new background and i want to create a backdrop for the main image, the backdrop has a sand based theme, ok Im waffling.
I googled the internetz and came across this image, which is pretty much spot on for what I'm trying to create:
How to either create this from scratch, or know a texture similiar to it? I've searched but all i find is grunge textures, this has a bit more elegance in my opinion.
I'm not looking for a detailed tutorial or anything, just need pointing in the right direction, I havent really created it myself if I have used a tutorial right?. Did I mention there were cookies?

May 13, 2012I need to create a day night texture for use in FSX (Flight Simulator X). This is as far as I can get - lack of knowledge main reason!! In picture 1, I made a 64 x 64 pixel canvas. After putting the border around it, I used the magic wand on the inside and used the Alpha mask. Then I made a duplicate layer as seen in picture 2 and made a light brown tint.
Then I used the flatten. But now I need a light to shine thru the window pane for a night effect. How would I do this? Would I use the Effect\Photo\Glow? How would I save the completed image as a _LM image?

Jul 30, 2011I recently upgraded to Paintshop Photo Pro X3. On my old computer, I have Paintshop Pro 9.
I first downloaded the trial version of Pro X3, and then purchased the full version after the trial.
I've downloaded all the patches, but it does not work.
Every single time I try to use the option:
EFFECTS
TEXTURE EFFECTS
TEXTURE
the program crashes.
I've rebooted, restarted with ONLY Paintshop open, and it still crashes. I use the texture option quite frequently.
