Photoshop :: Trying To Duplicate Reflective Text Effect

how this type of text effect was made. notice the reflection on top of each letter? there also appears to be a slight gradient and stroke around each letter. (not concerned about wave overlay)
i'm guessing this is some sort of plug-in for photoshop or maybe illustrator? i can't imagine anybody taking the time to do this by hand... at first glance it seems like a bevel effect but i can not duplicate it without going through a long process of filters and adjustments. it seems to be some sort of gel effect...
does anybody recognize this effect?

Im trying to duplicate this photo with another and i cant seem to figure out how to duplicate the pink/purlpe dot effect that shows most through out the face portion of the photo.
I have tried most things but kinda closest was HARD MIX layer mode on a desatureted copy of the portrait photo with the bakground "pitched horizontal lines" bleeding through. But it didnt come close anyway..

I'm using CS5, not that it really matter much for this question. I've used the same watermark for probably 5 or 6 years now. All I remember about creating it was that I did it while either reading or watching a tutorial on the subject. The reason that I love it is because is shows up very well no matter whether it is over a light image or a dark image. I have long since lost the tutorial and have spent the last day and a half looking at other tutorials with no luck. None of the ones that I tried work on both light and dark images.
Unfortunately, although I've been editing images for years, I do VERY little text and or font and or font effects work. That's why I'm a total loss about this thing. I will be attaching a jpg of my watermark duplicated with one placed on a white background and the other on a black background. Take note that this is the exact same watermark on both backgrounds. It isn't one that is special for dark and one that is special for light.
Steps that I need to make in order to duplicate this effect so that it looks exactly like this on both white and black surfaces? The font is "IMPACT".

Is there a good way to either tone down or remove the reflective glare that frequently shows up in a photo subject's eyeglasses? I have a number of otherwise nice photos, but the viewer will always see these glare spots first.

Would it be possible to have the line as bold red p-line so that its easier to identify.

I have a problem with Inventor 11 Studio. The reflection on the ground made by "XZ Reflective Gp" works in a way that when rendered, it shows a partial or cut reflection of my assembly, see attached .jpg file. I have not found yet where this "reflection depth" is regulated.

I have an Illustrator document with one layer (named Layer 1).In that layer are lines, rectangles and text.Is it possible (in script) to: make 3 additional layers named NL, EN and GEselect and cut all the text in Layer 1paste that text in the same place in the layers NL, EN and GE
(Step 2: select all text items and Ctrl-X)
(Step 3: select proper layer and Paste in Place in that layer)
I know this can be done with an action (I did that allready) but the reason I want to script this is because I have to combine this with another script which takes care of colorizing stuff.

I am trying to use AutoCAD to render some small parts. I am used to using Inventor Studio, but AutoCad's rendering tools have taken some getting used. to. I have everything figured out, with the exception of the ground plane for shadows and/or reflections.
I originally wanted a ground plane for a shadow to be projected on. However, I had no luck with that, so I modeled a large box under the part. Using that, I am able to get a shadow, or reflection, BUT, the edges of the box are showing in the background. The easy fix is to make the box larger, however, I need the reflective surface and background to be white so that it can be printed on paper without seeing the rendered edges.
How can I set a ground plane, or model a plane, for shadows or reflections, AND made it true white so that the edges cannot be seen?

how to achieve a polished, reflective finish on these machined parts (see attachment)? I've tried all the default materials and even some of my own but can't get the results I want. One factor I can't solve is the location for "advanced" materials in the Create Material pulldown in Materials Browser, this selection is not listed.

How can I go back and edit text? I tried going back and editing the text I had, but the entire text disappeared.
I'm using a text effect, I need to edit the text itself while still maintaining the effect.
I don't want to start over and repeat the lengthy process of making the same effect again with new text.

i was going through the top ten pstech tips in the tech section, and the first one is coool, you can paint in effect just how it says.
but can you text in effect? i know it must be able to be done but it doesn`t work in the same way, i can`t write text on the layer mask.

I am trying to create text with an outer glow to contain an image or texture and then putting another text layer on top. A clipping layer does not include the outer glow however. I also tried using a text mask but with the same results, any suggestions?

The font for "once" is neutraface, and for "upon a time" it is Nanum Myeongjo (bold) If It is also possible (but that is optional), do you know how to make the same background or this kind of dark background...
