i have a sony nex 6 camera. i would like to know if the latest photoshop of lightroom supports this camera and its RAW file - ARW?
If not, what do you recommend i do? i want to avoid having to compress the images, if that would reduce quality.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to open raw files from Sony NEX-5 instead of going to PhotoShop like all my NEF files, they go to another software suite that I have (On-One).
I am running MAC OS 10.7.5 with latest PS-CS6 and latest raw converter plug-in 7.1. On-One seems to hi-jack these Sony raw files and won't give me the opportunity for the adjustments that I get with the Adobe Raw File converter.
GPS meta data does not show up when importing from a Sony a99 camera.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOne of the great features of the Sony NEX-7 is that the NEX-7 makes automatic lens corrections for vignetting, chromatic aberration and distortion problems. These corrections are written to the file and the preview. However, when converting these images from ARW to DNG the correction data seems to be lost, and the images revert to their uncorrected state. This requires all images to then be re corrected with the Adobe lens profiles, which is both tedious, an extra step, and also seems to produce results that are somewhat less optimal than the original corrections made by the camera.
Should not the ACR Converter and Lightroom retain the lens corrections made by the camera?
I have Photoshop Elements 9 and just purchased the RX-100. Currently the .arw raw files the camera produces are not supported in Camera Raw. When will Adobe be supporting this format?

I have a Canon S100 which is one of the 6 new cameras added to LR. My existing LR would not open the CR2 file. This 3.6 RC opens it but does not list it as one of the canon cameras it profiles. How about the other 5 cameras? I don't have any of them so I can't comment. Only on the S100.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried to provide as much information in the subject line as possible. I have been keeping my VS installations up to date and so I have VS X6 installed on Windows 8.1. I just purchased a new Sony HDR-CX290 camcorder. I have transferred 3 or 4 video files from the camera to my computer using the Sony transfer software which saves it as a *.m2ts file. VS X6 can open the files, I can place it in my timeline. I can run the split by scene and other edit utilities. I even have gone through the process to test and create a disc without any issue. However, if I try to PLAY the clip in the project window, VS x6 crashes. I have uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled VS x6. I have tried reinstalling codecs. The files play without any issue in Nero and Windows Media player. Windows Movie Maker seems to open the files without issues as well. However, I have had my system to make discs via VS for a while now so I would prefer to not have to use a different program. Especially since I have invested in VS x6. I am outside my warranty window so from the sounds of it, I have no recourse to let Corel know if this is a bug or a known issue. I have installed VS X6 SP1 as well and it hasn't fixed the issue.

Adobe's refusal to support this well known and highly rated camera reveals something about a business model which ignores the needs of their customers. If I buy another camera next year why should I suppose that Adobe will deign to support it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen shooting RAW, the OM-D records 4:3 files no matter what the aspect ratio is set to. If you set it to 3:2 (for example), the camera records some sort of metadata to communicate this information to Lightroom, which honors the setting. So far, so good.
My question is, is there any way to override that setting? I have a photo shot at 3:2, but I can see from the in-camera preview that it'd be a better shot with the whole thing. But I can't figure out how to get LR 4.1rc2 to show me the whole thing!
