Lightroom :: Show In Explorer Does Not Work In 4.3?
Jan 19, 2013
If I'm right clicking on a file in LR and choose "Show in Explorer" an Explorer Window opens with the Libraries, but not with the folder containing the file I choosed in LR.
Why can't Windows Explorer show thumbnail previews of DNG's on my Windows 8.1 64bit Pc. I assume is has something to do with not having the DNG codec. However, on Adobe's website it says their DNG codec only works on Windows 7.
I am trying to import pictures into Lightroom 5.2 and I am not able to. When I open the import window I don't get any thumbnails (pic below), but when i click on the images, I can see them fine. After I choose the file location and press import, it hangs up and never finishes. The picture of the Copy and Import Photos is attached too.
I've been using Corel Draw and Photo-Paint for many years, on many versions of Windows, and as far as I remember, Windows Explorer has always shown a thumbnail for a .cpt file instead of the plain icon.
I've now got a Windows 7 machine (professional version 64 bit), and .cpt files show up as plain white icons, instead of thumbnails.
I have been deleting, or rather, REMOVING files as I edit a wedding, I assumed they would go to the recycle bin which I could empty at a later date, this is not the case and now when I start up LR it is telling me that I am running critically low on disc space on my c drive and that I need to delete the files.
Since upgrading to LR 3.6 I am unable to export .jpg photos from Windows Explorer directly into Lightroom 3. I always use to be able to right click on any photo and 'open with' Lightroom 3 (.exe) before this upgrade.
Also, in the library files I could do the same with my RAW photos - i.e. right click on one of them and 'open with' the LR3 icon in the list, but am unable to do this now.
I know I can open up LR3 and import the photos, but I simply prefer going into Windows Explorer to pick and choose the ones I want. My OS is Win 7.
In my Library View (Grid and FIlmstrip) and Developmend View (Filmstrip and Preview) the function "Open in Explorer" is always disabled: Right clickGrey entry "Open in Explorer"
The company I work for needs to manage and watermark many different types of photos (perfect for Lightroom.) The only problem is, when Im uploading photos to our website, the Lightroom watermarks dont show up in the thumbnail preview of Windows Explorer. When I right click the image thumbnail and select "preview" the full size image preview pops up with the watermark. I guess my question is, is there any way to get the Lightroom watermarks to show up when viewing files in Explorer in large thumbnail view?
After I have completed editing in LR I want to upload for printing but the colors have all changed to pinkish cast. Can the photo processor correct my colors? What if I submit to a microstock agency will my colors be correct according to my Lightroom image?
If I open my .rw2 files in Windows Explorer, the blue color is very saturated and also if I had import my .rw2 photos into Lightroom 4.2. This has occurred when I had upgrade Lightroom 4 to 4.2
I'm using Windows 7 Pro - 64 bit and photo's are taken with my Panasonic Lumix LX-5
I tried to create some keywords for photos, and save them into oringinal photo files by selecting photos in library then choose "Metadata>Save metadata to file" from right-click menu.
But, when I right-click original photo files in windows explorer and choose "Content>Details", these metadata set in lightroom doesn't appear.
is there any way to view it without any 3rd software but windows explorer?
I have Windows Vista, 4 megs RAM 2.4 gig quad core processor. I have been using CS3 and before that Photoshop 7 so I am fairly familiar with the navigator window. When you open a picture it also appears in the navigator window. As you perform an action(s) you see it copied in the navigator window. I opened a picture and opened the channels window. that is where you see RGB , red, blue and green channels. As you work with these such as removing a channel your picture changes appearance due to the absence of that color. The picture in the viewing window changes. The picture in the navigator window remains UNchanged. When I click save or save as the picture is saved WITHout the modifications performed with the channel selector. Example, i opened a pic, removed RGB, blue and red channels leaving only the green channel. I increased the contrast to 100%. This approximates an infrared image. I chose "save as" and named the picture. The picture was saved without any of the mods performed. Of course as stated they were never visible in the navigator. I take the same picture and paint a big red stripe on it and the red stripa also is shown in the navigator and I am able to save the red striped picture. Further, I did or at least thought that I saved one pic using the above channel scenario.
I am Using x3(with all patches installed) This problem has persisted throughout all patches. Often times when I combine 2 objects, the clipping hole does not show through. The objects are combined, but they appear as one solid object. It only happens occasionaly. I have tried virtually everything to make it combine properly, but to no avail.
Im working on a student version of Architectural CAD 2012 i drew a floor plan and used AEC Dimensions on my model space but when i switch over to work space they don't show up. I tried matching properties and switching between paper and model but so far no luck.
I just installed the trial of LR3 and I'm already having problems. When I try to "import" photos, my pictures don't show up. All that shows up in the preview thumbnails are grey boxes where my pictures should be. LR acts like it is loading my pictures, but when the pictures should be fully loaded, there are only grey boxes. If I hit "uncheck all" they will begin to re-load, but still the pictures will not show up. If I go to "Develop", the levels and such of the photo will show up and I can alter them, but it doesn't do anything because the photo I am editing is just a grey space! I tried altering the preferences for the file types to see if that may be it, but the pictures still did not show. I also tried using different folders of photos, but they all did this weird grey space thing.
If I ever decided to stop using LR and switch to some other program, what type of metadata would be included with all of my images? I really only use LR to add tags to each image. Would these tags show up for my images in other programs?
I have just upgraded to lightroom 4 and can not see the flags in the film strip. They are checked in the preferences as on, but they don't show. Also some folders say no photo selected in a folder, while there are photo's inside?
On both LR1.4 and LR2, the develop presets always showed along the left navigation bar (antique photo, etc.). I don't use them often, but I like to have them handy. A couple months ago they disappeared from LR2 navigation bar and I just downloaded LR3 and the develop presets are in a named folder but I can't figure out how to get them to show up on the left navigation bar again.
