View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been wondering... Since resolution is such an important factor to whether a pic is sharp and clear, how is photoshop able to increase the resolution of the pic? From what I heard, the picture is broken down into more pixels when the resolution is increased. If so, how can it distort the pic?
I also have this senario which I'm facing now... Since it's rather confusing, I have broken it down into Steps...
Steps:
1) Open picture A in photoshop
2) Transformed picture A smaller so that it is easier to work with (less lag)
3) I created some layers and merged all the layers together
4) Copy the merged layer into another Art piece in Photoshop
5) In the new Art piece, I transformed the merged layer back to the original size
As I transformed the merged layer back to the original size, will it become distorted? Or will the resolution remain around the same?
How can I change low resolution into high one?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo i write some text on to a picture and it never look sas sharp as i want it too, so if i zoom in a bit you can see that the DPI are not very good, very blurred, what can i do to increase this, so that even in a highly zoomed state, it looks very clear and sharp?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I work on the texture in one window and have the 3d window showing there is a huge discrepency in the preview resolution in the 3d window. It only gets crisp when I interact with the 3d model, move, rotate etc, but when I stop, it gets all pixelated again. I have it set to Best AA but that made little difference and I'm not finding any options anywhere.
Is there any way of setting the redraw resolution of the 3d preview to match the crispness of the 2d canvas?
Trying to model from an image. I can load the picture for the background, lock the pan and zoom, and match the bitmap in the aspect ratio.... but how to increase the resolution of the background so I can get a more detailed model?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI know those are almost opposites, but is there a way to allow VSPro to somehow pre process the video such that my preview runs more smoothly and with high resolution (or at least more smoothly).
I have a decent box and am trying to process 1080p clips. It seems to run smoothly after I create a file (in the preview window), but is there a way to have it do that without going to step 3 ("Share")?
I need a render with good Quality, so i define the " standard render" on "presentation", and "render quality" on "5", and image size on 2500*2500, BUT the image Weight gets so low, like 500KB..
How can it be? How can i increase the quality?
Illustrator Question regarding the texturization window. For some reason, every texture included (as well as one that I made in Photoshop), shows up in the Texturization window with a resolution of about 20 x 20 pixels. Even the simple sandy texture I made with Photoshop is displayed with poor resolution.
When I try File >> Place >> sand_texture.psd and drag it into the Swatches window, the texture isnt added no matter what I try.
I have included an image of what I see when opening the Texturization window.
Oh: Windows 7 64 Bit, Illustrator CC
In AutoCAD 2013 model documentation, how do you increase the resolution of shading so it more closely follows the linework? See example.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy goal is to:
1) Take an existing picture.
2) Make two more copies of it.
3) Alter the exposure compensation of the copies by either exactly 1 or 2 stops up or down as needed.
4) Merge those shots to form a quasi-HDR composite image.
When I open the master/source picture in Lightroom, how do I change the exposure by exactly one or two stops leaving all of the other settings untouched?
Yes, I know the master exposure slider goes up to 5.00, but what exactly do those values mean if anything in direct correlation to f-stop's? Is it accurate? how changing the exposure is executed.
This is so incredibly cumbersome for clients to have to sift through hundreds of images, with dozens of pages, when they should be able to view one page (even if I have 80+ rows) or a couple in a gallery.
I reallllly hate to keep using Legacy Bridge scripts for web gallery, since LR is lightyears ahead of it in so many aspects. But I don't have a choice since I can only get 40 images on a page with.
I can't find any custom presets that offer more than 5 rows!
PS - I only use HTML to keep it iPhone friendly and nimble...
This after I restarted lightroom 4. I do not want to lower the resolution of my screen to use Lightroom. I have a new 27' Imac. I do not want to get an even larger screen. Is there a solution or should I just use another program ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn previous versions this was unlimited. It allowed me a quick way to view catalogs I have worked on even months ago. There are no options inside Lightroom 5 to adjust this that I can find.
So is there a file I can modify in the Lightroom system folder or in the registry that will remove the limited number or increase the number allowed in the list?
I'm trying to create a high resolution version of a low resolution texture used in a game. I've found a pattern that I think is acceptable, from a real image. Now the question is this: how can I colorize the large image to that it is as resemblant as possible to the original one? I've tryed a simple colorize, but the result is not so good...
Original texture:

The image to be colorized:

I realize the nature of my question maybe asking the impossible, but I have a low res image I downloaded from the internet, placed in an InDesign page, blew it up and printed it out. I was going for the distressed look that it has, it looks ok when I print it out considering it's low res and I blew it up fairly large. However, it's a little too pixelated to look professional when printed. Are they any tricks or things I can do to make it look higher res for print. I've attached the image as well as a screenshot of the InDesign file so you can see it in context.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working with the editor to ascertain exactly what format he wants these images in. The film is being shot with HD video, and the editor keeps telling me he wants the images in the "absolute native Pixel dimensions of the RAW image".
I shot raw images with a canon 5D Mark II, so technically, I believe this would be approximately 5,616 x 3,744 (of course, this would vary for each image, but this is the data I have read about the camera sensor).
I shot about 1,000 images, so to deliver 1,000 images, output as TIFF's, at something like 4,000 pixels.
For the print module it seems as if Lightroom assumes a screen resolution of 96 ppi. My screen is 94 ppi, so the ruler and the prints are shown slightly smaller on the screen than reality. I would like to see the actual print size on the screen. Can the screen resolution be set, like the Unit & Rulers -> Screen Resolution setting in PS?
I am using LR 3.6.
I am a Photoshop newbie and I have a series of graphics (all 72dpi from a website) that I would like to print in 300dpi. Is it possible to take a 72dpi .jpeg or .gif file and easily convert it to a higher resolution printable graphic? If Photoshop can't do it, is there any type of program that can?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI installed LR5 as a commercial upgrade to LR4.3 on Win8 Pro 64bit, latest versions. All catalog previews has been rebuild. I have a really annoying issue where previews, when zoomed in to 1:1 on a second monitor is not at 1:1 resolution. It only seems to happen in the Develop module. No such problem existed in previous versions of LR.
Workaround:
1 - zoom in on primary monitor
2 - switch to another photo
3- switch back to original
Now zoom will work.
I'm editing 5d2 21Mp .CR2 (raw) files, as well as TIFF's and DNG's. All seem to have the same problem. I have 3 monitors, it makes no difference which of the other 2 I use as a preview device. It also makes no difference if I do a full-screen preview or a window preview on the secondary monitor. I've selected the image in the library module, in the original import folder.
I suspect what is happening is that the 1:1 previews are somehow not being build when zooming to 1:1 on the second monitor in the develop module. In the Library module, I can see the "image loading" when a 1:1 is not available, but in the develop module, the image just zooms in and there is no rebuild. Or maybe the preview is there but it's just not loaded.
In the Preferences - External Editing options the resolutions are set as 240 for CS5 and Additional Editor, should I leave these at 240 or change them, and if I change them, change them to what value for best quality?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe print resolution is no longer displayed making it difficult to decide if I need to modify the resolution prior to printing. Second, Lightroom 5 no longer generates a print preview. I select this option in my printer interface but sends the image directly to the printer without generating the preview. I did not have these issues with Lightroom 4 or earlier versions.
