The print resolution is no longer displayed making it difficult to decide if I need to modify the resolution prior to printing. Second, Lightroom 5 no longer generates a print preview. I select this option in my printer interface but sends the image directly to the printer without generating the preview. I did not have these issues with Lightroom 4 or earlier versions.
View 1 RepliesI set up a print package in lightroom v4.1 and adjusted the image in the cell to fit properly, however when I try to print to file the resulting file moves the crop to cut off the top of my subject's head. It seems that I can get around this by intentionally moving the image so that it appears to cut off her head, then when it prints it looks correct (the adjustments im doing are moving backwards?). This works for now but I have no specific control over my crop, I just have to guess and check which does not work for large quantities of images

However, I've just watched the tutorial on printing and obviously haven't understood it. I've made changes to my print settings and profiles and now find I can't print at all from LR, all that happens is that the paper is fed through the printer, no printing. I'm using Windows 7 32 bit.
revert back to my non messed up print settings/profiles etc?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI realize the nature of my question maybe asking the impossible, but I have a low res image I downloaded from the internet, placed in an InDesign page, blew it up and printed it out. I was going for the distressed look that it has, it looks ok when I print it out considering it's low res and I blew it up fairly large. However, it's a little too pixelated to look professional when printed. Are they any tricks or things I can do to make it look higher res for print. I've attached the image as well as a screenshot of the InDesign file so you can see it in context.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI am plotting a layout with several viewports as a PDF, and the viewports are not plotting as displayed. Everything else on the layout plots perfectly.
I've attached two pictures:
1) asdisplayed.jpg is what I want
2) pdfoutput.jpg is what is outputed. As you can see the lines are (1) greyed + (2) do not have the lineweight I desire.

Here are my settings:
1) Plot style table: acad.ctb. I modified the Color 250 to be completely black so that text would be black. I've set the color for every object in modelspace to color 250 as well (no dither).
2) Plotter: DWG to PDF.pc3
3) Paper size: ANSI expand B
4) Plot scale: 1:1
5) Plot object lineweights: checked!
6) Plot with plot styles: checked!
7) Plot paperspace last: checked!
8 ) "Shade plot" setting for viewports: all set to "as displayed"
9) All viewports set to "Hidden" visual style
NOTE: I've noticed changing to visual style to 2D wireframe or using isolines tends to output exactly as displayed (keeps the lineweight + the black color / not greyed out. I need to use the hidden visual style for my purposes.
Also I always get the option to update shading plots for viewports and I've clicked both options - both get same results of the modified viewports.
I'm unable to get a print preview displayed prior to printing using PSE11 and a Epson Artisan 730 printer. I've ticked the print preview box but the print preview fails to appear and the printer prints the image straight away!

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt's already a horrible situation that PSCS3X, the king daddy of Photo Editors doesn't support multiple screen capture, but now were 1 step into no-man's land here.
Pressing PRINT SCREEN and then focusing PS and pressing CTRL + N to create a new document usually will create a new document with the captured area's dimensions prefilled (1680x1050), but instead it says 64x64, and pasting doesn't paste any content into the canvas.
Anyone know what I might be overlooking?

I am making christmas photocards. I used photoshop 4.0. I started with a blank file 4x6 inches. I saved with a quality of 10. I ordered the prints online and they came back with the worst resolution.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using 2008 and trying to get one side of my plots to be 1/2" from the edge of the paper (from one of the ends, not the sides). When plotting from R14, our plotter understands just fine and prints a standard ARCH D sheet just the way we want it. With 2008, our standard sheet template sits outside the dashed line that indicates plottable area.
I think that autoCAD thinks that the printer can't print that close to the edge, but obviously it can. I've gone into the 'modify paper sizes' options and adjusted the bottom margin to allow enough space for the plot. Plot preview looks fine and nothing is getting cut off, but when I actually print, the printer just prints an extra inch of paper past the margin I redefined so I end up with a sheet that is 24 x 37 and the edge of the plot is still not 1/2" from the edge of the paper like I need it to be.
We are trying to move from R14 to 2008 (and eventually 2014) as the office standard and this is the last hurdle that is baffling us.
I'm designing a real-estate flier for a friend and am trying to add some text to a white background. There is going to be plenty of text and photos on the sheet so I'm trying to use a font size of 8. When I printed this out the text was extremely blurry. I tried several different fonts with the same result.
What would be the best setttings to do something like this? I think I'm supposed to use CMYK Mode but am not sure about the resolution or the pixel dimensions.
When we publish we are always asked if we wish to save the current list of sheets.

One of my users no longer gets this option.
Every time he publishes the program goes directly to the Save List As dialog box so he can name/save a .DSD file. He no longer gets the option of a box asking him if he wants to save the current list of sheets.
My guess is some variable got changed that has removed the option of being prompted about saving the .DSD file.
P.S. We're using AutoCAD 2012.
i print to a number of networked printers. All print fine apart from one, an HP Lazer Jet 9050. All files sent to print from photoshop result in very low resolution, as if a mesh is places over the screen.
A range of PC print photoshop to the HP 9050 with not problem. I can open a jpeg in a number of other spftware packages such as microsoft picture manager or InDesign and send to the HP 9050 and these also come out fine. The low resolution issue is specifically photoshop on my pc to the HP 9050 and no other.
I have been asked to make a postcard, but the problem is I have only ever used Photoshop for web images, ie at 72 dpi.
I was wondering, what resolution do I have to use for print materials? 300 dpi?
Also, if I have an image taken from a website can I just put it in photoshop and change the resolution to 300 dpi, then use it in a print project? Is such a thing workable?
Or, do I have to use images with a starting resolution of 300 dpi?
Just recently moved to Gimp. I like it but I am struggling. Millions of questions, but to start: How can I alter the resolution of and image without changing its physical size. I am trying to keep to a print size of 7x5", and reduce the resolution to 300pixel/inch. When I go to: 'set image print resolution' and change the X and Y resolution, the 'Print Size' changes with it. I have tried everything I can think of. I have make a new file at the correct resolution and pasted the image in, but the colors in the photos changed, so I dumped that idea.

So, I'm working at half the actual dimensions and at 150 ppi. I want the final file for print to be actual size (obviously) plus be 300 ppi.
A company will be doing this, and because I'm not sure what they do to double my file for print, I'm not sure what the effect will be.
QUESTIONS:
1) If I build vector graphics at half size, 150 ppi, when they double, will it actually be at 300 ppi?
2) If I add photos (raster) at 300 ppi to the 150 ppi artboard, will they retain 300 ppi when the final file is doubled on their end, or will it be bumped up to 600 ppi?
I'm trying to print the presidential medal of freedom in high-res but all the samples I found on Google image search and on wiki are low-res. Since I need it for print, I increased it to 300dpi and it looks really jagged and blurred. I tried to search for a vector version, but couldn't find it. This is how it looks:
I tried all the filters as well, but couldn't find one that suits me (cutout is the closest, but it still looks horrible). I'm using Photoshop CS5.
Except finding an original high-res (which is impossible right now), in which other creative way can I fix it?

During tethering ithe LR picks up my camera but when the shutter is released no picture is displayed on my computer.
I am using Lightroom 4.1 on a vista computer. I am in the process of building a number of sub-collections within a main collection. About 400 pictures selected so far. I have set the view>options to view thumbnail badges in grid view. However, only one photo, which I have not done anything to, shows the badge for collections. I would expect that every photo I assigned to a collection would show the collections badge. When I deselect the thumbnail badge box, the badge disappears from the one photo that has it. When I turn it back on, only the one photo shows the badge.
How can I have all the photos assigned to a collection show the badge?
Time and time again, I have come across the issue where the thumbnail being displayed in the grid view and loupe view is not of the image itself, but of some other image. So far, the thumbnail is typically from the same folder or collection and can be either from an image that still exists or from one that I've rejected and deleted from disk previously.
If I go into develop mode, the correct image gets displayed, but the thumbnail rarely resets itself.
I've deleted the cache on previous occasions to have LR recreate the thumbnails, but I never know when I'm going to encounter this issue.
This becomes a paint when I am delete unwanted images. If the thumbnail is incorrect on my second or third pruning, I could actually lose an image I intended to keep.
I'm running Lightroom 5.3 from CC.
It seems that deleting the cache every day--maybe even several times a day--is a bit overkill, but seems to be the only way to deal with this problem.
When I make changes to my jpeg or psd files in Lightroom 4.3, these changes are not displayed in Bridge.
I'v checked the appropriate box in Lightroom's Catalog
Settings "Auotmatically write changes to XMP".
What am I doing that's incorrect?

catalogue seems ok (structure and all, metadata are ok, in the development module memory has been kept of photos adjustment...
Re-opening catalog or optimizing does not have any effect....
Quiting LR is just abrupt with no asking for back-up...
