Lightroom :: Print Package Will Not Print As Displayed
Feb 11, 2013
I set up a print package in lightroom v4.1 and adjusted the image in the cell to fit properly, however when I try to print to file the resulting file moves the crop to cut off the top of my subject's head. It seems that I can get around this by intentionally moving the image so that it appears to cut off her head, then when it prints it looks correct (the adjustments im doing are moving backwards?). This works for now but I have no specific control over my crop, I just have to guess and check which does not work for large quantities of images
The print resolution is no longer displayed making it difficult to decide if I need to modify the resolution prior to printing. Second, Lightroom 5 no longer generates a print preview. I select this option in my printer interface but sends the image directly to the printer without generating the preview. I did not have these issues with Lightroom 4 or earlier versions.
I'd like to prepare a multiple pages package in the Print Module. I need to view each single page, as because every time I add new page the cells become smaller and it's hard to arrange the images well.
I am trying to print a picture package with Adobe Photshop Elements 8. The package size is letter (1)5x7 (4) 2.5x3. When I press print, the package is sent to my printer (an HP Photosmart Premium), but it never prints.
My computer shows it is "printing", but it just remains stuck in the que. I cannot even delete or cancel the jammed print job without shutting off the printer, closing the program, and rebooting my computer.
I can print individual pictures with Adobe Photoshop 8 and I can print other pictures and documents from other applications on my computer. So my computer and printer seem to be communicating and functioning correctly except during the use of APE 8. The problem seems to be a gliche in the adobe program which does not allow me to print photo packages.
I'm trying to print two 4x6" photos on each page of a picture package, but I can't get it to print out the captions. I've successfully done it before, but can't now. The "more options" menu doesn't provide for "printing choices" and "show captions" for picture package, and I'm not sure how else to do two pictures per page. Is there another way to get the captions to print out when printing two per page? The captions print when I print individual photos.
I wanted to create an A4 borderless print in my canon mg6150 from within the print module. I can do a borderless print using the canon easyprint.
I go into page setup and the properties of my printer and set the page layout to borderless and click OK.
However, I am unable to set the margins to zero. When I go back into my page setup and check the page layout, it has reverted to normal so it has ignored my setting.
I have just bought and installed Lightroom 5 and need to set my print size to A3 and in the future even bigger. I do not have the facility at home and need to have them sized correctly for the print shop so they do not have to waste time resizing them. I am at a loss how to do this. I cant find any settings for this size print. A3 is roughly 42 x 29.7 cm.
I am plotting a layout with several viewports as a PDF, and the viewports are not plotting as displayed. Everything else on the layout plots perfectly.
I've attached two pictures:
1) asdisplayed.jpg is what I want
2) pdfoutput.jpg is what is outputed. As you can see the lines are (1) greyed + (2) do not have the lineweight I desire.
1) asdisplayed:
2) pdfoutput:
Here are my settings:
1) Plot style table: acad.ctb. I modified the Color 250 to be completely black so that text would be black. I've set the color for every object in modelspace to color 250 as well (no dither). 2) Plotter: DWG to PDF.pc3 3) Paper size: ANSI expand B 4) Plot scale: 1:1 5) Plot object lineweights: checked! 6) Plot with plot styles: checked! 7) Plot paperspace last: checked! 8 ) "Shade plot" setting for viewports: all set to "as displayed" 9) All viewports set to "Hidden" visual style
NOTE: I've noticed changing to visual style to 2D wireframe or using isolines tends to output exactly as displayed (keeps the lineweight + the black color / not greyed out. I need to use the hidden visual style for my purposes.
Also I always get the option to update shading plots for viewports and I've clicked both options - both get same results of the modified viewports.
I cannot seem to reset the print template screen while in the " Print " module. It has adopted the smallest pic size with three times the normal border. I wish to reset to full screen in print module
How to ADD (almost) white Border around photo(s) to print in print module (not for creating a JPEG) WITHOUT TRIMMING the photo?
I dont understand why I'm so stupid not to be able to acheeve this simple task with Lightroom WITHOUT TRIMMING the image (altering it's proportion and cutting away photo-content)
(on light-gray backgrownd for instance, to use as cutting indications. I know how to use cutting-indications for images i print without a border)
(i do not whant to use workarounds, the kind of preparing "identity plates", a new one each for infinite variations of proportions to use as fullblown-up backgrounds..)
Epson 3880. Lightroom 4. Moutain Lion. All current.
I am trying to print on 5x7 paper. I set the page setup to 5x7. I have the margins set to .2" on each side. The layout image inside Lr looks exactly how I want it to.Then I print. I end up with a .125" margin on the left and top, and a .625" margin on the right and bottom.
It seems that, no matter how many times i save and update the profile, all the print setting (image size, sharpening, bit depth, color management, ...) are store within the preset, all but the Epson Driver settings, which have to be selected every single time.
I really can't remember if this bug was present in 4.0 or not (I'm currently running 4.1 RC), but I'm quite sure it was working OK under 3.x. Here's the thing.
I configure the printing settings and create. a profile: Profile1.I change all the settings and create a second profile: Profile2. The "Print Settings" settings are different, same printer, one for Color (Profile1), one for Advanced B&W (Profile2).I click on Profile1 (which was created with color Print Settings). Clicking on "Print Settings" or "Print", the printer settings selected under the epson driver is the ABW one (the one that belongs to Profile2).I reselect the correct setting from "Print Settings..." (Color).Click "Save" again.Righ-t click on Profile1 -> Update with current Settings. Setting seems to be saved.I then click on Profile2 and bam! The "Print Settings..." seems to be rverted to color instead of ABW.Update the correct settings, back to point #3
Can you reproduce this? This behavior is vanishig the power of the "Print One" button, unless you constantly print with tha same Driver settings.

How do I batch print several exposures at one time that differ in orientation (Landscape, Portrait) or print size (4X6 - 8 X10) or both orientation and print size? I currently have Lightroom 2.3 installed on a XP SP3 machine.
I have been unable to find any documentation on this subject.
I'm unable to get a print preview displayed prior to printing using PSE11 and a Epson Artisan 730 printer. I've ticked the print preview box but the print preview fails to appear and the printer prints the image straight away!
I am trying to print a 16" x 20" photo through Lightroom's print module. I am using an Epson 3880 printer and 17" x 22" paper. I have done this in Lightroom 4 with no problems. Now I am getting a print that is 16-3/8" x 20-1/2". I have the cell size set at 16" x 20" and borderless printing is turned off. I also checked zoomed to fill. This has also happened on a couple of 12" x 18" photos.
Was printing 4x6" from LR 5.3 fine. To an Epson 3880. Then went to Page Settings (MAC) changed paper size to 8.5x11". The preview responded with a larger page. I scaled the image up to 8x10 via lightroom cell size. But when I printed to the Letter size paper, LR printed only a close to 4x6" top left corner. This was not a full image like the 4x6. It was just a corner.
Exported to PS and printed fine. Can not figure why the print will not print the full image?
I get a pop up of "Save Files To Folder", but no file names are present, so "save" does nothing. I have all the boxes checked in Print Job, e.g. print to Jpeg file. I have searched, re-read Kelby etc. and come up blank. I have a profile entered for a custom lab.
A few weeks ago I tried to print from the print module and instead of a picture showing up, there was a white space. I have uninstalled and reinstalled LR 3 times.
When I try to print a JPG from the Print module in LR 3.6 (and tried it also with 3.5), it does not always recognize the resolution settings. Most of the time (and I can't see what makes the difference) it prints the JPG to a 96 ppi resolution regardless of what setting I use for resolution.
When printing in 3d with the vp set to 3dhidden and the shade plot set to hidden legacy some solid items print with the wire frame. This usualy happens with torus and cones. How do I stop this?
So I am working on this document and it has silver background. I go to print preview (Photoshop cs3 and cs4 on Vista) and I get color looking more like bronze looking but when I do print, it comes out just like it should (in working mode which is Monitor RGB with Proof colors checked).
This setting is the only one I've used to make sure image/psd looks exactly like what it should when printing. I tried the default Working CMYK with and without Proof colors but it's still showing me the bronze look instead of silver. I've looked on the net and no exact easy fix for this was found. I really really appreciate any help.
Another simple question is regarding size. I'm working on a document size of 17.5 x 8.7 inches and the actual Banners will be printed at size 175 x 87 inches (5 banners each at 35inch wide but combined into a big one). So essentially, I'm working at 10% the size of what the final print will be and my file size is 760mgs. You can only imagine how big the file would be if I work on the actual size.
When printing from PS CC using the print dialogue box I am getting a severe red shift in the final print. When I print the same image from PS CS5 or CS6 I get a color-correct print.
I am running a MacPro with OS 10.7.5, and printing to a Canon iPF8300 with its latest firmware and print driver. I am using the proper ICC profile for the paper. In the print dialogue box, I select "Photoshop Manages Colors".
A couple things I noticed: In the "Print Settings" where I dial in the printer setup, the settings for "Color" are both turned off (Colorsync & Vendor). In the printer driver settings (still within "Print Settings") the "Color" tab is grayed out, but when I click the "Settings" for that sub-panel, Colorsync is selected. When I printed the image from the Canon PS Plug-in, the red cast was gone, but the blacks were too heavy (there is no "Black Point Compensation" check box available because the Canon plug-in uses Adobe Color Engine for that, and it's only 32-bit and won't run).
We just started in 2014 last week. When we batch plot to PDF using the DWG to PDF driver we get multi-page files no matter which is selected in the Publish Options. Any way to allow single sheet PDF creation?
I have a drawing where some lines have a 60% screening in there Plot Style. The print great from AutoCAD. But when I create a PDF and then print the PDF the Screened lines show up kind of blue / purple.
I am plotting to a Cannon iPF720 on 22x34 paper from Acrobat Reader X. I'm creating the PDF from AutoCAD 2012.
