When I try to import a photo, Lightroom5 tells me that my photo is a duplicate. When I search for the duplicate from within lightroom, lightroom can't find it by filename. When I search for the duplicate using a file manager outside of lightroom, the file manager can't find the duplicate either. I don't believe there is a duplicate file that has been imported in Lightroom.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using many versions of photoshop elements and edited many of my files. So, now I have very many duplicates, near duplicates, and versions of the same photo. I think I have over 20,000 photos and they are taking up too much space. I tried using a duplicate file remover and it removed several thousand, but I still see many duplicates when I run photoshop elements 11. I am tempted to not use the organizer any more and just rely on a folder browser.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up Backburner and 3DS Max Design, and I'm a newbie to both. I'm getting the warning 'Could not find a Manager. Will keep trying...' when I try to connect to my manager machine from the server machine using the manager's IP address. I can connect to the manager from the monitor on the server machine, however, and I can connect from a virtual machine running Windows 8. The server machine is running Windows Server 2012 - I haven't been able to find where someone says if you can or can't use Server 2012.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am struggling to get VS ProX4 to scan for and correctly identify TV channels. I have just installed the program and in every other aspect, the program is working correctly.
Under the capture option, the program is identifying that I have a DVB digital tuner card. It’s actually a dual card with both digital and analogue signals. If I click on options > video properties, I have the option to scan - but every time I do so, the program freezes at 40% and stops working.
I can change the Country/Region but the properties box is greyed out - and therefore I am not able to check that for example, it is scanning for antenna and not cable.
I’m running windows 7 and on windows MC, I have correctly identified over 100 channels so I’m pretty certain the tuner card is working.
In order to avoid duplicate text string in different places in the same drawing, I would like to have such a tool to find duplicate text string.
For instance, I want to put numbering of some connection lines, I do not want to have different lines but have same number by mistype.
Just installed X6. However, even though I installed Symbols and Objects from the content install, symbol manager does not see the symbols library on my hard drive. I guess it expects me to add a library, but where this symbols library is. Am I supposed to install the entire content package (I really don't want to clutter my hard drive with thousands of unwanted images) in order for symbol manager to be able to automatically find where the symbols are?

I used to be able to find it on the dimensions toolbar but now it's gone. I mostly use Inventor so I rarey go back to Autocad.
even finding how to change precision of the dimension was a pain - it used to be double click and change it in the property window. After a few minutes of trying things I managed to find it under right lick menu.
anyway - looking for dimension style manager so that I can create a new style and use it.
I edited a file in photoshop (CS4) "saved" not "save as" and imported it back into LR3 file was imported as DSC5677.psd while the original is DSC5677JPG. I cannot see the psd file in either library or develop models. How do I find/view the file?
View 3 Replies View Relatedthis is in regards to a Lightroom 3.5 exported JPG. This was a year ago when I had been told it was best to export files with simple renumbering of them from 1 to x... instead of retaining the original RAW 4-digit file name.
I've currently lost the original files, and need to do a search for them via these 4 digits to see if I have them tucked away in any of my drives. I downloaded a metadata explorer, and it's telling me all the lightroom editing information, and everything else, but somehow does not have the simplest of information — that 4 digit original file name.
Am I grasping at straws or is there likely to be any way to find this information out? I don't work with metadata, so there wouldn't have been any customizations to how Lightroom configures this...
I used Adobe lens profile creator to download a lens profile. I cannot find the file. It is not in the standard folder for lens profiles. Where does lens profile creator downloads the lcp file? It says local disk?

If I select a cirlce from an xref and it has a handle of "E6" Then I select another circle from a different xref that has the same handle. When I use GetObjectId how do I specify which handle? Is there a way to give a handle and a file path and have it point to the correct entity or would I need to cycle through all entities and check for matching handle and file name?
In the end I would like to select an object, then store that data in a file and then recall that exact same object later.
On creating images in bitmap mode using illustrator into eps format and convert the eps file into pdf using acrobat distiller.
On pdf file its showing two objects in the content panel with one object present in low resolution other one same as its original.
It will not happen in direct pdf from illustrator
It will not happen in grayscale mode.
I have just recently started seeing something strange in my lightroom 5 library. There are two copies of some of my CR2 files. One copy is the original import, such as flower.cr2. This file has none of my edits, just the import. The second copy is called flower-2.cr2. This file has import and all of my edits.
When I originally edited the flower file, there was only the original. Most of my photos are as they should be, with just one CR2 file that includes the import and all of my edits.what could be going on with my library/catalog?
An IPN file is showing multiple assembly files in it's browser even though I have confirmed there is only one of the assemblies in the IAM file.
I'm not sure if it's causing any real difficulty in the IDW views but it's not giving me any confidence.
When is the poor, undercared-for part of the software going to get an overhaul?
I have recently used back up for the first time whislt replacing my computer and moving to Windows 7. I now have different pictures with the same file name on the back up drive (F:) and the computer hardrive (C:). When I click on a picture the picture inOrgnaiser appears and then qickly disappers and the second picture with the same file nane appears. The first to appear is that on the C drive the second is that on the F drive, the back up drive.

It seems to just get dropped right overtop of the original which makes it completely indistinguishable. Seems the only way to access the original marker(s) underneath is to delete the one(s) on top. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently undertaken to run a serious test of LR 1.2--as I did with previous versions-- to see if it was at the stage of development where it would improve my workflow over my present applications. Most everything is much better than before, but I have discovered a killer bug.
I work in a group of four other photographers. We are constantly mixing and matching images from our various DBs/shots for client presentations, frequently mixing shots already in a DB with some that are recent and not yet DBed In the end, of course, we want one DB that incorporates all our collective images. This arrangement lends itself to imports that often will contain duplicates of given, uniquely identified, images.
I discovered that even with the box checked to not import duplicates, that LR is hopelessly inconsistent in stopping the import of absolutely identical files with absolutely identical names, extensions, metadata, etc.
As a test, I imported a set of 50 images--various formats, etc--all of which were in LR already. I ran the test three times. The first test resulted in LR identifying 3 dups, the second test 17 dups, and the third 13 dups. I also tried this test using images that were in two separate LR catalogues--identical in every respect. LR did not identify even one duplicate image of the fifty in this case.
I see I have some Files with a little notice on top saying 1of2. Now when I click the delete option, it only offer the usual way to delete from catalog or move from disk, but where do I choose to just delete one of the duplicates?
