Lightroom :: Export Size Won't Take?
Jan 31, 2014Occasionally I export an item but the export size simply never takes on that picture, so I actually have to go thru Photoshop to get the desired size.

Lightroom :: Can Reduce Size Of Photos In Export
Feb 2, 2012I would like to e-mail about 50 photos to someone. I can reduce the size of the photos in "Export," but even if I compress them into an archive file, the file is too big to send. I tried compressing just 10 photos at a time... the archive file is still too large to e-mail. Is there another way to e-mail large groups of photos from Lightroom? I have Lightroom 3.

Dec 12, 2013When exporting an image and specifying to resize 1500 pixels on the long edge I get this result 2541 x 1500, which is exactly the same result when I specify the short edge. I have tried this with cropped images and with uncropped images.

May 3, 2012i'm currently using LR 4.0 and found a problem with file export.
I have two tiff files:
Tiff 1: 283MB, full resolution ( 2336 x 3504 )
Tiff 2: 233MB, full resolution ( 2336 x 3504 )
Export witht: 574 x 1000 image width
JPG 1: 168kb
JPG 2: 194kb
Both jpegs have 600px x 887px (fram with mogrify plugin#) and 100%jpg quality.
Whe I set a limit to file size of 154kb, I receive following:
JPG 1: 102kb
JPG 2: with error ( couldn't create jpg which fit's the file size limit of 154kb )
If I export the second tiff manually with 90% jpg quality and no filesize, I get:
JPG 1: 114kb
JPG 2: 135kb
So it seems that the "limit file size" isn't really working.Also it seems that Valus between 92 and 100 ends in: same as 100.
Lightroom :: 4 - Image Size Smaller On Export
Feb 2, 2013I imported images from my 1D M4 and made themDNG rather than RAW. All the images, JPOG and DNG have a heading in image info at top of the image in Library or Develop as 4.0MP indicating that the information is very small. Canon tells me this camera should show MP as 16-18MP and large prints available. The smmaller bird will not crop to make an image over 4x4 and I pring 8x10. Canon believes it is a LR4 preference issue but I can't locate it in importing. I did note a export image smaller and changed it but regardless, I checked the importing file size and tey are all significant so it is a Adobe LR4 issue and preference somewhere. NAPP says it is not LR4 so I am caught?

Feb 22, 2012I take a large number of event images and the usual client request for images being sent to the press is image size rather than resolution, dimensions or other requirements.
Clearly in LR3 if the client has requested 3MB jpg the easy option is to after processing take my Canon 5d mkii RAW file and just hit export to max 3MB jpg.
My question is is it better - ie image quality better - to export by resizing longest edge to approx 3000 px and exporting to jpg which results in a similar file size, though different pixel dimensions? Or are they effectively the same?

Aug 20, 2013I accidentally exported original photos in low quality (reduced size from 12MB to 600KB), as I needed to quickly (herein lays my mistake) upload them to a proofing site which requires me to reduce the quality of the images significantly. I NEVER usually do anything without backing things up, or before making a copy etc. This time however, I was in a BIG rush to get these to a client and I not only exported the original files (even though I exported to a new folder, somehow, the originals got reduced as well without me noticing), but I also deleted them from my memory card (I tried card recovery software and no luck). What I'm left with now is a folder full of low quality, useless images and no (known) way of restoring them to the original high quality (12MB) state. Here are some other details:
Program: Lightroom 2
Computer: MacBook Pro
Camera: Nikon D7100
(I only post this as I used my camera to delete the images off the memory cards...not sure if there is a way to recover via camera?)
Images no longer show in preview (yes, I deleted them from there too!)I did not back-up I tried scanning my hard-drive, memory card and external drive with recovery software (no luck)the images were on 2 memory cards and, as mentioned, I deleted them using my camera (when I ran the recovery software, only images that I originally deleted via my computer came up - which were the "did not make the cut" photos from the shoot that I deleted in Bridge - the rest of the photos, which are the ones I need, are not coming up in the scan)These images were to be used as posters, so high quality is crucial. There is nothing in my trash can eitherI tried using a preview extraction plug-in, but as there are no previews (duh Sanja), the plug in proved useless I think that's all the info I can provide (maybe it's too much info as is)...
Lightroom :: How To Export A Window Without Export Buttons At Bottom
Mar 1, 2014Win 8.1 64 bit A Toshiba Satellite laptop, LR 5.3. When I try to export I get a window without export buttons at the bottom to do the export. Further if I try to resize the export window the export window disappears and LR freezes requiring to ctrl/alt/del to close it. I cannot export anything to HD or email, etc.
I was in a class last night where everyone had Macs and the buttons appeared on their versions and worked fine. Totally repeatable. I can supply screen shots.
Makes LR totally useless.

Apr 13, 2012I have a problem delivering a vehicle wrap I designed with XDP 7. The thing is 215" long x 72" height and includes some bitmaps, so it is not 100% vectorial. Now, how do I export that for the printer? They say they need the file 100% scale @ 300 DPI, when some other online dudes say they can do with ~150DPI, to scale the image 1/4, etc.
When I try to export full size, XDP doesnt let me put anything beyond 70 DPI or so, even if I type 300 in the box, it gets rid of the last zero. So....how do I do it????

Jul 7, 2012I have recently upgraded to 2.8 and am having problems with export to jpg, as opposed to old system of 'Save As" jpg.
When "Show preview in image window" is ticked, File size always appears as 1.3GB. If 'Quality' is reduced, file size displayed does not change to a new reading as it used to.
When I go ahead and export, the file is much smaller than 1.3GB. What do I need to do to get the file size in 'Export Image as JPEG' window to show an accurate file size?

Jul 22, 2010I am using trial of Adobe Illustrator CS5. When ever I export file (RGB) to PNG or JPG format, there is size difference of 1px in width or hight or both. But when I save that file with Save for Web & Devices option, then there is no such issue.
I have tested with so many files.I didn't faced such problem with Illustrator 4.
Lightroom :: 4 - Paper Size And Cell Size Don't Match
Aug 2, 2012I have a prob with the Paper size and the Cell Size not matchng in LR4 using a Sony UP-DR150 printer.
I'm running on Windows home premium 64bit,
i have installed the Sony 64 bit printer driver.
When i print the photo, it prints to the size 4.31 x 3.12 on the 5x7 paper.

Jun 25, 2011My end goal is to have a PDF image that is 13in(h) x 19in(w).
Image / Print Size is exactly 13x19. However, when I print to a PDF printer, and set the page size within the Print Preferences to Custom 13x19, I still get a much larger page than the image is.
I see message boards say to use File / Page Setup and select a Custom Print size. I do not see this as an option.
I've tried saving to PNG and then opening in other programs, but it makes the image much larger, and it affects the set-up.

Mar 5, 2012I have upgraded to X5 from X3 , and now when i Export EPS files, they are MASSIVE, I work in a company that does signs, and car vinyls and other graphics /vector related work, and It is important that i use EPS as file format for out " plotter" but a size of 800 mb and 2,2 GB now when it used to be 10 mb is insane.
I also use POSTSCRIPT 2, as 3, makes the file over 2 GBs.
