exporting pictures with a PNG watermark to the exact ratio of 1:1 is impossible! that mean loss of resolution and quality of the watermark...I believe this is a BASIC function.Also the border distance trim for the image watermark, have too big steps.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCAD LT 2011. I have had an unexpected loss of functions that is not restored by a system restart.
When I select objects, I can't get any of the tools to work on the preselected object ( The tools all work if I select the tool first and then select object to apply it to). And I can't change properties such as layer & color of a preselected object.
Also I can't delete a selected object with the keyboard delete key, and I can't bring up the MultiLine text editor with the usual double click of a text object.
It doesn't sound like a simple command reset as there is too many things involved. Can't find anything on options and drafting settings that is relevant. So it sounds like it might be a total reload of LT?
How do I simply apply a watermark to an image and have it save within Lightroom 4 without having to export each individual image? I also have Perfect Layers and am having the same problem, it asks me to save each image as a seperate file and it's incredibly time consuming. Am I missing something, or should I return Lightroom and stick with Elements, which has layers?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like the file number text to show up on some of my exported JPG images. I need this for the purpose of looking up the original file. All I see in the watermark section is the ability to hard code text only. Is there a way to do this inside LR? Perhaps a plugin?
Alternately, is there 3rd party utility to do this to a whole folder of exported JPGs? That would be messy, but I really need to ID certain event photos ON the photo.
I created a collage type image in CS3 . It had 4 layers with a tiff size of 60mbs. as a psd file it was about 20mb. when i saved it as a jpeg it shrunk to below 1 mb. I can't print the jpeg larger than larger than a 5 x 7. what am i doing wrong? why would the jpeg shrink so much?

Windows Explorer and some software bundled with digital cameras [Canon and Panasonic] warn when rotating a picture that there may be loss of image quality. Presumably it must re-compress the jpg image file?
In order to avoid that problem, I have been rotating image files in PS7, since no such warning comes up there.
Is there loss of image quality by rotating or cropping in PS7? I usually save jpg files at quality level 10.
Paint.NET informs me that my photographic images are 2592 x 1944 pixels with a 72 pixels/inch (28.35 pixels/cm) resolution measuring 36 x 27 inches (91.44 x 68.58 cm). Why is it that printed copies at 15 x 10 centimetres using the File>Print facility directly in Paint.NET are far superior to those using Image>Resize before printing (without saving the resized image)? Is there any means by which I can intervene to resize the image myself without losing the original quality?

I am having trouble shrinking this compass I made.
I have the box ticked in the preferences that says to scale strokes and effects.
I made the original image 420X420 the one below is 380X380
The second image is 190X190. As you can see the increments become pushed together. I actually want this image to look exactly like the first picture at an icon size of roughly 64X64.
Is there a way I can keep the look of this compass but make it icon size?
I have an action in which it will place an image onto an image like a watermark, when i place the image, it is not center by center so i drag it or use keyboard arrows to center and then press enter, then i saw its on the center, but when i save it, the saved image is not on the center, how was that?
you can see that the right side of border it is not centered because the left side border is thicker than right side, here is the part of the action
you can see that i move the image after i place it because its not on the center so adjusting it makes it at the center but the Translate part is not equal.
The specific task I need photoshop for is: taking small low-quality images and making them big and sharp
For instance, I'd like to be able to cut out the squirrel from this image and then enlarge it to a desktop wallpaper size.
I'm editing digi photos about 6mb in size and dragging/copying them into another file (template) which is much smaller. When the photo appers in the new file it's huge. So I use the free transform tool to get the image down to the size and position I want and all is good.
I lose the focus of my subject (close up of Rolex-Omega watch's). Now the original shot is perfect and most of the time I dont have a problem in that the focus remains perfect after reducing the image down. Have I clicked on something that I shouldn't? I cannot work it out, the photo's are all in a batch, the first 4 were perfect and the 5th, just not having it, even after re-taking the picture.
When I use the polyagonal lassoo (or whatever it's called), select copy, then paste the selected image onto a new blank file, the selection changes from colour to black and white-

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have converted to jpg some .nef from my D800 with Lightroom 4.1 at max sharpening, 150, with Capture NX 2.3.4 with max sharpening set in picture style settings only and ViewNX2 2.5.1 with max sharpening set in picture style only. Have played with other settings in "details box" of LR4.1, radius, details and masking, but the result is about the same. Please, look at this two photos, converted with CaptureNX 2.3.4 and LR 4.1: at bottom the loss of details is noticeable(the palm, the street lamp). With ViewNX2 have the same result.
Fortunately, it does not happen with all the photos, but happens. Happens in particular with the dark photos and night shots. That it is not a matter of contrast.

i have lightroom 4 and would like to upgrade to lightroom five. will i loss any of my files when i upgrade or will the be loaded in automaticly after the upgrade.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI worked on an image in Lightroom, got the contrast and color perfect, and when I went to "Edit in Photoshop" it completely flattened out my photo by darkening most of my lighter areas and it looks awful. Check out the sky in these two images to see what I mean. I have LR3 and CS4.
View 5 Replies View RelatedUp until now lightroom has behaved perfectly, now when i make an adjustment in the develop screen, the picture just goes grey. If i switch to library then back I get the picture back in the develop screen with adjustments made. This means that I cannot see to make fine adjustments. I have reloaded from lightroom4.4 all the way back upto lightroom 5 and there is no difference.is there a setting i have accidently changed?
View 2 Replies View RelatedTill X3 Photo-Paint opened and saved transparent PNGs as a seperate image with attached mask.Example:I have an image and load a B/W mask into it.
When I save this as PNG and reload it in X3, Photo-Paint displays again exactly what I have just saved:
However when I open this same PNG in X6, the image and mask get merged into a single object:
It's in effect doing automatically a "create object from selection" function and discards then the background.Why? I can't work with the full background image anymore, because the transparent parts are missing, and the mask is also gone. Is there no way to open the full PNG, without any merging and deleting of masks, just the way X3 was doing it?Also, the only way to save a transparent PNG in X6 is to check "save only selected objects"? When I don't check this, but still check "transparency" in the PNG export dialogue, then the mask won't be saved nonetheless.
Since a couple of days when I export tiff files to jpeg the exported image looks darker. If I reimport it the histogram is evidently changed.
It looks like something messed up in preferences but I didn't make any changes (at least I didn't do it purposely).
I upgraded to the 4.4 version after this happened but nothing changed.
I keep losing all of my keyboard functions when using tethered capture in Lightroom 4. Only a computer reboot gets the keyboard back.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was about to export some photos and realized that I have lost all the develop adjustments I made over a month ago. If I go back to an ealier catalog file from the beginning of October, I see all the adjustments, but it looks like the photos have moved (I get a blank thumbnail with the question mark). Couple questions:
why the develop adjustments are absent from the photos in all my recent catalogs? I always move my photos in LR.Is there anyway to "export" the develop adjustments from the older catalog and associate them to the correct photos in the newest catalog?
In the last three days, I lost hundreds of treatments. The photos from my folder disappeared with no reason.I have to import them again (they are on the hard drive) and work again on treatments.
I am using LR for years and it is the first time that it happens.
LR4 final seems to have a very annoying bug.
When I select a number of images (in the film strip) and either
1) paste settings that I've previously copied from another image or
2) sync settings from one image to the rest
... the settings are not applied to all the selected images. The settings are only applied to a seemingly random subset of the selected images.
I'm going to try to pin down the exact circumstances that make this occur.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 30 second .avi file, frame size 1440 x 1080 15 frames/sec Video compression Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder, 24 bits, total 450 frames Audio compression PCM 32.000 kHz, 16 bit Mono 960,000 samples.
I can play the video OK in vlc and when I insert the video into the timeline of VS X3 and play the inserted .avi.
As soon as I insert:
1. a .jpg at the start of the timeline with text and/or,
2. text (as a watermark) on bottom left hand side for the 30 second duration
whenever I play back (in VS X3 preview) this clip, the movie plays (but with a frozen first frame from the .avi) with only the audio with the text.
I have been using VS X2 successfully on my Windows 7 64-bit PC.I had purchased X3 sometime ago and decided to install my X3 version.
I've edited my photos, resized them all the same and now want to use the "process multiple files" funtion to put a watermark on each image.
In the past this has not been a problem but now when I use this feature, the watermark font size is inconsistent between each image.
I have a 200 photo batch and dont really want to manually put my watermark on it!
