View 1 RepliesI've been doing a lat of conversion lately, and I'm seeing pretty inconsistent results when exportinig AutoCAD geometry through FDO into SQL Server Spatial. I'm using Map 2012 with current sps on Win 7, and SQL Server 2008 R2 - using a local instance on the same machine as AutoDCAD.. I have a large drawing (200k objects), and I have several small OD tables attached to most objects. We are pushing those into SQL Server through FDO (Export to FDO connection) and I get pretty inconsistent results on the number of objects for example, out of 788 polygons, 436 will convert. I delete the objects from SS and try again, and it usually takes at least three times for the export to be complete. It seems to be inconsistent and of course, there's no error notes thrown out anywhere. I find I have to pull counts of all the objects before starting conversion on a drawing so I can keep tabs on it.

dynamiclinkmediaserver has encountered an error
[/Volumes/BuildDisk/builds/DynamicLinkMediaServer1/main/shared/adobe/M ediaCore/ASL/Foundation/Make/Mac/../../Src/DirectoryRegistry.cpp-283]
Continue Button.
Hitting continue does nothing and the application just hangs on the video export progress bar.I've attempted to export several types of PSD files to video, some old, some new (made in CS6) and I always get this error. I have reset Photoshops preferences. I have uninstalled the entire CS6 suite and reinstalled it.
On a whim I decided to reinstall PS CS5 and try to export from there. Worked like a charm. Was able to export video from my PSDs like before.I am currently running:
Creative Suite CS6 Master Collection
My hardware is:
Model Name: iMac
Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz
Memory: 8 GB
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3
My problem: I need to extract attributes from CAD files and export the data into MySQL type databases in order to compare the CAD data with other database data. Ideally the task needs to be done with a routine script that processes large sets of CAD files and data.
I would like to know: Can this be done?Whats the best way to script this or code this with an API? Is there a way to run this script on a server machine without AutoCAD installed? (Not that I'm trying to avoid using AutoCAD in general, of course the program was used to create the files, it just seems silly to install it on a server for one task)Is this script relatiavely simple, or would it require large amounts of time and/or an expert?
I copy a .dwg to my remote computer and open it. Then .dwl and .dwl2 are created in same local folder as the .dwg I just opened localy. Then I copy the local .dwl and .dwl2 files back to the remote server in the same location I received the origional .dwg from. Why are those files not locked now from everybody on the network that I am remotly away from?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Lightroom catalog on each of two different computers. Each of the two catalogs have imported photos from the same "Photos" folder on a server.
There is one main folder with hundreds and hundreds of sub folders.
The one catalog is showing 226,186 photos and the other catalog is showing 218,732 photos.
I've tried syncing the computer's catalog that has 7,454 less photos imported than the other computer but I always end up with two different totals on each computer. Very frustrating since both catalogs must match.
One computer is a Mac and the other computer is a PC (not sure that should make any difference).
I live in a university dorm which requires a proxy server to connect to the internet. Everything else (browser, torrents, skype) all seem to work fine through this connection however I get various error messages when trying to publish, or check or an update in Lightroom.
I'm almost certain it has something to do with the connection because I don't get any of these problems when using another internet source. There don't seem to be any proxy or internet connection settings in Lightroom.
I'm exporting images to an FTP server, via the FTP plugin, and it's moving kind of slow. I'm on an extremely fast line, 10mbps up. When I use an FTP client and drop the images in the directory, it screams fast.
Why is the LR method so slow?
A Google search result just now showed me only 2 years of questions posed, with no Adobe Support Answers.

Video was viewed in 2013 in LR 4, but after install of CC and LR 5, playback is not functioning.Tried restarting LR 5, the HDD dedicated catalog and exporting a test file. The above error message occurred while trying to reimport the test video (.avi) file.
While in grid view, when curser moves over the thumbnail, image seems to fast forward. After clicking twice on the thumbnail, there is no image in Loupe view. There is kind of a weird black, white and gray graphic. One attempt to start playback resulted in this error message in white text on a black banner, " There was an error working with the video."
I want to move my Lightroom 4 catalog to my new iMac and keep the RAW files on a separate server, what is the best way to do this

Then I uploaded to our server (I checked to see that all folders/files made it, and they did) and then when I access the index.html file, neither the thumbnails or the full-size images show. Just tried to import file sinto a brand new LR Catalog when I got this message...here's the entire error message: "An unknown error has occurred while reading the video file. Connecting to Dynamic Link server failed. (98)" Connecting to Dynamic Link Server Failed
this was then followed by a list of files of these types:

Moving to a Windows 2008 Server x64 desktop and notice that when Lightroom is installed it's the 32bit version. On Vista x64 the installer automatically installs Lightroom 64bit. Is there a way to manually select the 64 bit version for install ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWin 8.1 64 bit A Toshiba Satellite laptop, LR 5.3. When I try to export I get a window without export buttons at the bottom to do the export. Further if I try to resize the export window the export window disappears and LR freezes requiring to ctrl/alt/del to close it. I cannot export anything to HD or email, etc.
I was in a class last night where everyone had Macs and the buttons appeared on their versions and worked fine. Totally repeatable. I can supply screen shots.
Makes LR totally useless.
I've created various snapshots of a series of photos and I'm ready to export. Is there a way to export all the snapshots at once, in a single export step? Up to now, I've been doing this step by step, exporting one version of the image, than going to the next snapshot and exporting again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've created a book in LR's book function: selected pics, soft-proofed and made gamut corrections, added photo and page captions, etc. I'm ready to export to PDF but every time (4+ times) I get an error message at what looks like the end of the process. I do have a file but it includes only the cover.
I've tried to send the book to Blurb but get a similar message.
I'm using an iMac running OS 10.6.8. Some of the pictures are laid out in 2 page mode--which I mention only because somewhere I read that mode creates export problems. The pictures are copies in raw (DNG) and sRGB format, and probably 15-20 MB each. I'm wondering if the pictures are too big or...

When in the library module if I choose a file(s) and click export I do not get the export dialogue box. Lightroom basically locks up until I press the escape key. Interestingly if I right click on an image, go to export and chose a preset it works? Do I need to reinstall Lightroom and If so how do I do this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using v3.6 on a windows 7 PC for about 2 years. I've recently upgraded to v5.3 on the PC and at the same time have installed v5.3 on my laptop also running windows 7. On the laptop using a few new images: the smart preview, exporting and web functions work fine. On the original PC which has my original catalog of c17K images these three functions do not work. As far as I can tell the association between the masters and the images in the library has not been lost. The library and develop functions in v5.3 are working on all the c17K images in the original catalog.I've set the Export dialogue box up using recommendations from answers I've gleaned form other discussions in the forum eg; making sure the 'do nothing' flag is active in the post processing section and reducing the quality of the JPEG image. Still when I export nothing happens.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to export jpeg images from LR 3, and sizing them to 1110 x 525 pixels, @ 72dpi, the dimensions of my blog header. However, despite inputing these values, the exported jpeg image is sized at 793 x525. Quality is set to 85 and nothing else is checked. Am I missing something? I've also tried the "dimensions" and the "width/height" box choices, but it always outputs at the same 793 x525.
The files are from a Nikon D2h (a little old), RAW.
Lightroom fails to export to jpg most of the time. The application creates the desired subfolder, and displays a progress bar, but does not create the file.

I've had LR since the beginning, all on Macs, and this is the first time for this bizzarre behavior. LR or OS? Hardware or software? I tried restarting LR and the computer.
I am trying to export some raw files to jpg and they continually won't export! I can try over and over, some will evidentually export but others won't.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 66 image slideshow sorted from a collection.
LR will only export 11 images.
I have tried from the original images (not in a collection), have saved a slideshow, have previewed and played, everything works fine on screen but I can't export the slideshow as jpegs.
If I export a photo, then make edits and want to save them, should I export them again? It looks like when I export a photo a 2nd time, then I get an additional photo on my hard drive. This is not really want I'm trying to do - I'm just trying to save it as an edited copy.
I think this contributed to some of the problems I was having with getting too many photos, then discarding the "extras" - that apparently was a bad, bad thing to do, but I'm still not quite sure how to handle this.
Lion 10.7.4 MacPro - I cannot export from Lightroom 4 in my main Admin account. Lightroom gives me an error message - Spent much time with Adobe and it was suggested that it was an Apple issue. Apple tech doesn't think so.
View 15 Replies View RelatedLet me start off by saying that I am a total lightroom beginner. I am using publish to HD or sometimes simply right click and export to a JPG with a resize to 1920x1080 and it never comes out that ways. It comes out every time to 1919x1080.
I'm shooting with a Sony ALT-A65V in 16:9 mode. You can see the original, the settings I used and the resulting JPG.
Also, I notied another posting referencing something similar but is there something lightroom does to the photo by default? Even once a photo seems to be rendered in my view it seems to change slightly after a second or two.
