Summary: Lightroom 4.4 extra dividing line that I cannot move or remove that interferes with navigator screen
Details: Only appeared after the 4.4 update...Collapsing the panels and opening them again does not resolve the issue.
I like navigator and I like full screen with menu bar. Thing is, by palettes block the image on both sides. Anything that can be done?.

Words in a paragraph are splitting into different lines when it gets to the end of a line. How do I stop words from splitting into different lines in a paragraph.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I view vector art on the screen the letter I shows up extra wide and big, but the printed version works fine. Example below. This only happens some of the time to me, but not always with the same piece of artwork. I think this must be a common problem.

If one uses e.g. canvas size and chooses a smaller canvas, normally a panel appears 'the new canvas size is smaller, some clipping will occur, proceed or cancel. Likewise if you print something and its wider than the pagesize, you see a message panel appear, the image is larger..some clipping will occur, proceed/cancel.
These panels have ceased showing, but unless one clicks proceed or cancel on them, photoshop cannot progress,...not responding results. Trouble is you dont know if they have shown up but are hiding. Tried moving the image but it leaves a white space behind and the panel is not behind anyway, or under the main photoshop window.
If you launch e.g. word and print something, then minimise, often the panel then shows itself, from then on its ok ! Until one closes Photoshop then its back to its freezing ways next time after launch until refreshed with Msoft word printing, though that doesnt always resolve it.
It also freezes up when closing images using the X top right of image. I had thought I had spoted a trend to fall over on jpg images but not so I think now.
Tried for a full reinstall, no joy. updated video driver ATI radeon HD3450, the ATI driver wouldnt go on, couldnt find a suitable driver it said !... but the one from the Dell website did, turns out to be the same ! 1/12/2008 8.561.0.0 though ATI have a more recent one Feb 2010.
We also run Sophos antivirus.
I recently got a new drawing tablet (Monoprice Graphics Tablet) and i set up everything perfectly fine. However, i opened photoshop cs6 and when i draw, there would be an extra line. when i draw a semi circle, it automatically completes the gap with a straight line when i lift the pen up or stop drawing and it's really bothering me.

I'm messing around with shapes and bevels and I have this shape (attached .xar file) that is basically two lines - I need one of them erased! I don't really care if it's the top line or the bottom one. No this isn't actually two lines, or that would be easy (well it would be draw a rectangle over it and clip it several times, right? But no, this is a shape, so when I draw a rectangle, and try to slide it, it does two things - 1) it does slice the shape, but leaves behind lines or 2) completely removes the original shape and leaves only the (now weird shaped) rectangle. So how do I get the "extra" line to "erase?
I have created a operable window to insert in a curtain wall system based on the "Window - Curtain Wall" family. I created a simple extrusion for the glazing panel and assigned it the subcategory of "Glass". When loaded in the project, the cut lines of this panel are a much heavier weight than mullions, other glass panels, etc. The lines are so thick, the double line just becomes a fat single line as they merge together. Adjacent glass panels don't have this line weight problem. I can find no override or other control/parameter that fixes this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Autocad 2011 and trying to convert a 2D drawing into 3D using a Loft tool. However, I'm experiencing a bit of a problem. The Loft tool is creating an extra line between the two objects which messes up part of the design. I'm usind Solid and Ruled settings of the Loft tool and the two object I'm trying to join were created out of number of polylines which then were converted into singular poline using Edit Polyline tool.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy main catalog (LR4.3) has grown quite big containing about 122000 pictures, mostly RAW and the lrcat -file is 2.24Gb. In the beginning of this year I decided to start a new catalog, year 2013, a "working catalog" and when this year's works are done, I'll merge it to the main catalog and start a new catalog for year 2014, and so on.
It's just that I'm a little concerned about how well LR behaves in this kind of fusion. I mean all metadata transfer, especially the keywords.
The reason for this operation was that the big catalog is quite slow to use. This new and this far tiny catalog though behaves almost lightning fast.
Why I cannot see all my folders from my external disk on the navigator? When I go into import mode I see the missing folders BUT all the pics are greyed out meaning that they are part of the catalog already how do I get them in the Navigator library?

Should be: " To preview the effects of a preset on your photo, move the pointer over it in the Presets panel and view the effects in the Navigator panel."
Some of the folder icons in the navigator window are spotted and some are solid.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn Library mode, the Navigator does what I'm used to from previous versions of Lightroom -- it shows a preview of the currently selected photo. However, when I go into "Develop" mode, the Navigator chooses another photo from the collection I'm working on (always the same one, it seems) and shows that one. This is frustrating, because I like to use the Navigator in Develop mode to see previews of an edit I'm working on. It's also just nonsensical that it shows a different photo.

I've read some claims that LR 4 gives 1 more stop of DR. I think they really mean that LR 4 puts the DR already present in the RAW file to better use than previous versions, but setting that quibble aside.
I recently updated from LR3 to LR4. My edit in Photoshop preferences are for a psd.
When I "edit in Photoshop" using LR4, Lightroom immediately creates a "filename-edit.psd" file. With LR3, only when I saved from within PS did it create the new file edit.psd file. I like to keep the option open to use "save as" and save just a jpg if I know this is going to be my final edit and not have a psd. Now if I save as a jpg, I end up with an extra .psd file. Is this a change in LR4 or have I not set something that I had set in LR3?
I have looked on the web and in some books I have and I don't understand the purpose for turning panels on and off or what it does. I see that the features are unusable when they are off. I understand why I would want to hide a panel.
Does it turn off any changes I made using that certain panel? What does it do?
My side panels (Navigator on the Left, Histogram on the right) have gotten larger since I restarted my laptop. It's really interfereing with my ability to edit because there's so little screen space left. I've tried everything I can think of, and they're still too big on either side.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I place my mouse over the the left edge of the right side panel I get <---> which is good then I try to drag to make the panel wider and it does not work. I can shrink the panel but not expand it.
In any module this is how it works. I also tried using the alt key (PC) to drag it wider but no go. You should be able to use just the <--> to expand.
I know in other versions of LR I could make the panel very wide but no longer, it only goes wide to a certain point that won't go any further cutting off the last few remaing characters on the far right side of the panel.
Can I enlarge text in lightroom work panels as I have eyesight probs.

I had hoped to do lots of editing while travelling but have eye strain instead. I've tried deleting the prefs. file numerous times. I have them checked for solo mode, but it doesn't make a difference. I'm using 5.3 on Windows 7 and I don't have this problem on my Mac.
