View 2 RepliesI'm creating a van wrap design for our company, by Monday, so time is of the essence. When I import an image onto the design it's perfect, but when i slightly rotate the image, all the edges become serrated. Will this affect the final print? If it will affect the print what is it that I need to learn or do to change this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I open a high resolution image in Ai they look somewhat distorted and choppy. They are jpeg files that I am placing in order to envelope distort onto a mesh. For some reason any bitmap image I open with Ai looks like this. However, when I open the same image with Acrobat Pro or Ps the image looks perfect. Images are RGB in both apps.
Image in Ps or Acrobat Image in Illustrator
There most be something in Illustrator that is causing this. Images are being embedded and cannot be linked since they need to be distorted. I am runnung CS6 on Intel iMac Maveriks.
We are using Illustrator CS4. Until recently, we had been using Freehand. When we place eps files saved from freehand, or open the freehand file in illustrator and drag the image onto our new templates, the image doesn't print. All the layers of our product templates print, and if something is typed or placed from another application, it prints fine. We can sometimes changed the color of the imprint and get it to print, but this doesn't always work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just spent several days putting a project together. Mainly still images with some digital video.
When I rendered the project (pal 16_9 frame based also tried lower first) the result is far from acceptable. It looks like a low res picture although I rendered with high quality settings (the same ones I have used many times before) Straight lines seem to have a slight saw tooth effect. If I utilize an overlay the problem is suddenly much more pronounced. Wether this is caused by the overlay itself or the fact that the images are enlarged slightly I don't know.
The video clips from my digital video camera seem to be ok, the problem being mainly with the still images.
By the way the same images created as a slide show in movie factory are perfect.
I have a fast computer with vista installed and had excellent results earlier in the year with another sinilar project.
This is a new CS4 install on Vista. Never used Photoshop before. Every image I open shows up looking distorted like a plaid grid pattern. Is this a display / video issue? Attached xml image.

If I create a square (jpeg) that is exactly 50% black and 50% white and then distort the image using, for example 'i warp' or 'whirl & pinch', will the colour proportions of the resultant image still be exactly 50/50?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a LR 4.2 and NIKON D80. I shoot in RAW format. When i import imahes from camera into LR some images shows quite destorted. The distortion is usually shows on 1/3 of lower part of the image and makes this lower part of the image almost unrecognizable. When i import the same image on another machine 64-bit version of LR the image looks OK.

When i save it to pdf it still looks fine on screen but when i print it the colours are so dark the images are unrecognisable. The company im printing to want the pdf preset as Press Quality, it looks awful but i have tried all the presets and they all look as bad. Everything is in CYMK. I really cant understand what is going on! I have two deskjet printers and they both look terrible (one slightly worse though).
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I select an upright (portrait) image from library, the develope module displays a distorted landscape view. This happens to every upright file in the folder. Other folders seem to work ok without this problem.
While messing around with image rotate, read metadate, save metadata, etc I managed to make one image open up correctly but I have been unable to recreate that work around. In any case, that fiddly way would take too long as I have hundreds of files to correct!
I normally work with auto rotate ON in the camera.
I am doing some freelance work and the client sent me several .ai files. They were a mess, and should have been created in InDesign to begin with, so I transferred them over. At the time, I copied and pasted the links, but of course, the images don't show up in the links panel in InDesign. I'm assuming this will be an issue for printing, is that right?
I went to find the original links, and couldn't find them anywhere in the folders I was given. When I looked at the .ai files I was given, I found out that the images were embedded. When I select an image, I cannot choose to "update link" or "edit original." Those options are grayed out.
How do I get those embedded images to InDesign in an appropriate format for printing?
(I use Macromedia Freehand MX), I just recently download the trial illustrator, and my question is to know how to open points in Illustrator images for screen printing in freehand using the Halftone in Illustrator I've tried but is not the same as the finish is different and of very poor quality here is a sample as freehand and illustrator as stated in:
Look at the difference of points:
As you can see in Illustrator can only do that from the menu: Effects / Pixelate / Color Halftone... , not sharp as seen in the picture above and therefore the image does not get to see very well, while in freehand if you can manipulate the points from large fine to a point, points also can be made round, linear or ellipse and therefore may work better for screenprints and other designs that open nesecitan points at home. What I'm interested to know if there is another way to work so that the image is sharp with the open items as well as in freehand.
I know, I know. This question has been asked a million times already. Unfortunately the Align New Objects to Pixel Grid / Snap to pixel grid tip doesn't work for me. When I scale the image down to tiny proportions, the path becomes horribly, sickeningly distorted. It certainly seems like the pixels are being snapped to some kind of grid, but as you can see in the screenshot, the option is disabled. I tried switching between RGB and CMYK with no luck but I havent messed with the document profile past that. I am not yet ready to spend another few hours recreating the image.
I am using Illstrator CS6. Everything except the "web studio" is a path.
How could this happen? I tried to scale a logo down to fit a stamp and Illustrator destroys it by distorting the paths.
This is the original logo
And this is what Illustrator does with it when i scale it down. (Image is scaled to same size to better illustrate the distortion)
I am new to Illustrator. I have designed a new logo using Illustrator CS6 to the best of my knowledge. I now need to create business cards etc for printing but when I save it to jpeg it becomes very distorted after the file is uploaded to the printing site. Even if I cut and paste to another artboard it become distorted as well.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with scaling objects that I have already created. I think it started because I inadvertantly turned on "Align new objects to pixel grid" But I have turned these off (under New Document as well as the Transform menu), quit Illustrator, and reset prefs.

Each time I scale it'll do it differently. this time it made the right side thicker.

How do I curve a rectangle so that the bottom one can sit neatly next to the top distorted rectangle shape,as in the picture below? What tool do I need to use? I have tried placing extra point but it does not allow me to curve the rectangle.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMade a simple type and shape design with a solid backdrop. When I tried to export via save for web to jpeg with high settings, it came up online with subtle but visible alterations. Behind my shapes are speckled like dust, it looks super low quality.
I tried using ps to save instead, I even tried removing the backdrop and remaking a whole new document and just moving select items over, then recoloring..which was not the best attempt but same result.
I'm not exactly sure what her color settings should be to avoid this. Im working at 6500 x 6500 right now. Here's a visual of the up close issue. All over its less quality. And Im saving at top jpeg settings in RGB. I really don't want to tell her she has to begin all over again.
I have been successfully printing images from CS3 on an Epson 3880. Now that I have had to upgrade to CS6, I have a big problem. In CS3 When I went Print-> Photoshop Manages Colors to choose an ICC color profile, there would be a companion Output box, where I could drag the Transfer slider down to brighten the image. I can't find Output in CS6! Since choosing Photoshop Manages Colors turns off the printer's color etc controls,
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem. I am trying to print an image that is 108" x 94" on 36" self adhesive vinyl. This should be easy right? After all it's just three 36" panels 94" long. ... tell that to x 5! I click the print icon, go into layout and from that point onward I am more spectator than print manager.
Everything I do to try to get the image tiled with 3 x tiles and 0 y tiles is futile. The scale of the image keeps changing, why isn't the scale 100%? I preview the print and the number of tiles keeps changing almost with every effort to print three tiles, at times it looks as if x5 wants to print the image in 8 1/2 x 11 tiles!
Do I need a Phd in computer programming to be able to perform this task which seems to on par with creating the universe in 6 days?
One of the clients at my work is experiencing difficulty printing using AutoCAD LT 2012. When he prints, only a blank page comes out of the printer. I have tested the printer and I am sure it works properly. It printed both a Windows test page and a color photo with no problems, which is leading me to believe that he has a setting within the program that should be changed.

How do I create a work space that is 2D so that I can print easier? My co worker has AutoCAD architectural and she can print 3D drawings just fine using her 2D work space.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI cannot print photogrpaic images with my desktop MAC (OS X10.8.4) from Photoshop Elements 9.0 to my new Epson XP-800 printer. Printing is not a problem with Word text or images from iPhoto- it is only with PSE that there is a problem. The problem persists even if I try using a cabled connection rather than WiFi. I have ensured latest software from Epson has been downloaded. This problem did not occur when using the same system with the previous printer (Epson Photo Stylus 1290).
Any workaround of moving the edited PSE image back to iPhoto & printing from there (which admittedly does work but shouldn't be necessary).
I want to prepare an image to be printed on a canvas using a service like [URL]
1. preparing images in PS to make them look better when printed this way?
2. What should I look for to assess quality when trying to pick one of these types of printing services? Types of ink used, canvas, etc.
I'm new to the site. I have been using adobe software for a good few years at this point, and i have been trying to solve a problem with my friends Photoshop and illustrator. every time she prints out work, its all off colour and over exposed like the colour preferences are messed up.
When printing a word doc or regular jpg images there is no problem. It only happens when trying to print in Photoshop or illustrator.

I have a small print shop and have had an issue with the new Photoshop CC not printing images with correct margins on and Epson 9890 and 11880. If I set the image to center on an 8x10 sheet (or any other size). The image comes out skewed to the upper left. between .125 and .25 inches to the left and to the top. I never had this issue with other versions of Photoshop.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just started producing photo books, and I am very pleased with the results. But then I realised that I should have changed the resolution of the images I sent to the printing company from 72 dpi to 300 dpi. I have just sent another book with all the images changed to 300dpi which should be good. But ..... I didn't do anything with the "resampling" tick box - I just left it ticked (mainly cos I didn't understand it). Should I have unchecked the "resampling" tick box?
