I see that when I export for web, I can crop all regions whose alpha is zero. But what if I want to crop all regions whose alpha is below (say)10%? Is there a way to do that?
View 1 RepliesI have a solid gray filled region that is set to be transparent that is not being transparent. We are trying to put a gray tone over the existing area of the plan. what is weird is that I did the exact same thing to another view & it works perfectly with the region in the background & all the wals & doors showing up correctly. I can't figure out what is different between one view & another.
I've tried changing the filled region to be "moved to back" but nothing changes. if I override the graphics of the element & change it to be transparent the it goes away all together.
I wonder if anyone knows how to select(crop) the same region from two different pictures. Typically we have been doing this by using the selection tool and saving the selection which we can then load into the second picture. This works great except when we need to rotate the selection box at an angle.
If we do these and then try to crop, photoshop essentially puts a box around the selection that is straight which gives extra blank spots on the edges. When you crop using the crop tool, you can crop on an angle and photoshop straightens it out fine, but I don't know how to make it crop the exact same region of the second image then.
I have a large Revit model with a linked model containing many notes and symbols. The problem that I am having is that since the structure is so large I need many blow-up plans for particular zones, even though these plans are using crop regions the notes from the linked file still show outside the cropped area?
Is there any work around for this ? I have looked into scope boxes, section box, and plan regions but none of these will solve the problem.
I have made crop region lines to be heavy lines on elevations and it shows heavy lines on my monitor . When I created PDF file or print preview, it does not show any heavy lines of crop region lines.

We are placing (2) views with non-rectangular crop regions on a sheet, one view shows existing geometry in a linked model and the other view shows new geometry in the model the sheet resides in. As a side note, we are doing this to create simplified diagrammatic phasing plans, the merits of which should be another topic. What seems to be happening, is the graphics within the rectangular boundary of the view, but outside of the crop region is masking the other view. The graphics appear correct in the print preview and on a print. Please see images for a clearer understanding.I have tried turning off hardware acceleration and anti-aliasing with no change.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an A3 sized times 3 artboard file that I want to save out at 300ppi so that I can print it at A1 without losing much quality. I do this every couple of months this will be the 4th time or so. Each time I run into this same problem and kind of just fudge my way around, but I'm not having as much luck this time and can't move forward to printing.
each sheet is a series of 20 coupons or so like seen above but when i export to jpg some of the coupons come out like this:
the white layers (there are two) both go transparent and the background paper image leaks through. as you can see in the after shot, in the upper right, some white is preserved (the shadow in a link file, but the white under 408 is an illustrator shape)
I've tried changing the white to 1%k or 1%c 1%m 1%y 1%k and things. usually fiddling with it like this in serveral random ways gets it to work eventually.
As you can define a target for a lane width (for example) it would be possible to define a crop or limit? Civil 3D (2013) how much you have to improve....

I know that by selecting each view crop region, right clicking and overriding by element I can control the weight.
Is it possible to automatically show a line over cropped elements when using crop region?
I'd like not to show the whole rectangle of the crop region, but only where that rectangle intersects an element...

Somehow, all the development settings are correct, but the crop has too much data.
I have a Floor Plan View and it was modeled up everything good displays and prints correctly (drawing 2 on the attached pdf) . I have another Floor Plan View which was create via duplicating the first one - therefore the majority of the drawing is the same. However, the filled region through the center of the duplicated view is obscuring the other modeled objects when it is printed.
The region is set to transparent (as can be seen when it is viewed on screen) the filled region has been sent to back, and the other objects are all on exactly the same layers in both documents (as they are identical apart from other noting which has nothing to do with the actual filled region).
why the filled region would be obscuring the objects in one drawing and not the other? The only way I can find to get the objects to print which are "covered" by the filled region is to turn the region off, which defeats the purpose as it is there for a reason? This happens with hard copy printing and also to pdf. Printer is set to raster printing .
I have a photo onto which I have superimposed another image, in a separate layer. That separate image was precisely drawn using the magic wand. Is there any way I can add some transparent area below that image?
My application is I am creating a GIF movie in which that image will be moved around on the main image like a sprite / puppet.I need the section of the image that I place the mouse on to control movement to be invisible to the part of the photo that is being turned into a GIF/video. I'd like to know how to ignore the stroke weight of a shape in the transform box. In other terms, to only consider the surface.
For example, I trace a square with no stroke, and measures 100mm. When I add a 1pt stroke on it, I would still like the transform box to display 100mm, and not 100,353 mm.

The problem I am coming across is with it being see through, I cant seem to just pick and grab the blue rods, golf balls and clips they are sitting on. It seems to want to pick up everything including the gray background. I heard photoshop would make this possible. is this true? Also, what program would be the best for me? View 1 Replies View RelatedI have spent some time trying, in PaintShop Pro 7, to create an image with a transparent background to use as a layer over an underlying jpg.
I have now done it in Gimp, and tried it over another image in Gimp - it works. But when I export the image either as a GIF or as a JPG there is no transparency when I paste it over another image in PaintShop Pro.
Perhaps it would be easier to do the whole thing in Gimp, but it would be convenient to be able to do it in PSP too.

View 5 Replies View RelatedA client gave me a PDF of a typical architectural floorplan; with various rooms in the building. My job is to slice it so that each room is a separate slice. Easy. But we need the background of each slice to be transparent. Essentially we want to overlay a line drawing outline of the rooms on a different background.But when I save it as either a GIF or a PNG, it always saves the bg as -white-, regardless of how I try to set the transparency colour.
Now in Corel, if you save as a GIF or PNG and set the transparency colour to the -background- colour (white), the GIF or PNG auto-magically gets saved with a transparent bg. But this is not happening for me.
So... is there a way to save my GIF, PNG slices so that the white is automatically converted to transparency in each slice?
Or do I have to -manually- remove all the white in the main image (not looking forward to that!) and then slice?
I have tried 10 times now and all I am trying to do is remove a white background to a logo and export so that the background is transparent. Every time I remove the background and export and open, it shows up with the white background again. I know this is simple and driving me nuts.

I'm using CS and am trying to get an image into a QuarkXpress doc (Ver 6.1).
I think it has a tranparent background (i.e. I can see through the image in PS to the gray and white checked board). I save it as a TIFF and then when I 'get picture' from Quark, it appears with a white background.
How can I lose the background so that the holes in the image show the background that is in the picture box in Quark?
I have been manipulating a file which has text on a transparent background but the text on the image has the obligatory white jaggies around the fringes. I can't for the life of me establish what I am doing wrong as I have done this before without this same issue.

Then I have other layers that are the colors of the shirts, so I can swap the color out and it looks like the appropriate t-shirt color with the shirt textures and shadows. My ultimate goal is to export the shirt textures with no color background and keeping it a transparent png. I want to use this transparent image on a website that has color behind it and can change the color using html Divs.
The issue is when I turn off the lower layer colors of the shirt the image is not trasnparent it is white. The multiply layers don't stay transparent. Is there a way to export the multiply layers as transparent? Is there a way to remake the layers as a raster image, rather than using the layer blending modes?
