AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Corridor Region Partitioning Disrupting Surface
Jul 5, 2012I've got a corridor which builds a surface which then is integrated into my overall surface. Until today I have been using a basic assembly which has worked fine, however today I began splitting regions where we have varying sideslopes etc. Once I re-associated the new regions with their corresponding assemblies, my entire surface went haywire, and now seems to be ignoring several other corridors / feature lines / other grading features I have.

Jul 30, 2009I wonder if anyone knows how to select(crop) the same region from two different pictures. Typically we have been doing this by using the selection tool and saving the selection which we can then load into the second picture. This works great except when we need to rotate the selection box at an angle.
If we do these and then try to crop, photoshop essentially puts a box around the selection that is straight which gives extra blank spots on the edges. When you crop using the crop tool, you can crop on an angle and photoshop straightens it out fine, but I don't know how to make it crop the exact same region of the second image then.

Jan 17, 2007I have a large Revit model with a linked model containing many notes and symbols. The problem that I am having is that since the structure is so large I need many blow-up plans for particular zones, even though these plans are using crop regions the notes from the linked file still show outside the cropped area?
Is there any work around for this ? I have looked into scope boxes, section box, and plan regions but none of these will solve the problem.

Nov 15, 2013I have made crop region lines to be heavy lines on elevations and it shows heavy lines on my monitor . When I created PDF file or print preview, it does not show any heavy lines of crop region lines.

Dec 6, 2013We are trying to take advantage of non-rectangular crop regions and running into an issue. We are placing (2) views with non-rectangular crop regions on a sheet, one view shows existing geometry in a linked model and the other view shows new geometry in the model the sheet resides in. As a side note, we are doing this to create simplified diagrammatic phasing plans, the merits of which should be another topic. What seems to be happening, is the graphics within the rectangular boundary of the view, but outside of the crop region is masking the other view. The graphics appear correct in the print preview and on a print. Please see images for a clearer understanding.I have tried turning off hardware acceleration and anti-aliasing with no change.

The section-plan(surface red).png is showing the section editor and the plan view. the red highlighted line in section is the corridor surface and as you can see in plan view the surface is incorrect and wiggly.
The pdf is all my sections with the red linework being the corridor surface.

Revit :: Where To Control The Crop Region Line
Nov 1, 2012I am trying to find where to control the Crop Region Line. I'd love to be able to creat view templates to control visibility and also Line Weight. Currently we are turning them off per view. and only want it on for 3D View and Interior elevations.
I know that by selecting each view crop region, right clicking and overriding by element I can control the weight.

when I created a Top surface, C3D showed me otherwise. I need a gap at an intersection. In the attached DWG the intersection corridor has been removed from view by isolate.
I used 2 seperate baselines to force the road corridor to have a gap at the intersection.
Looked OK .. except ..later .. when I created a Top surface, only the first baseline is used to create the surface, the second baseline is skipped : (
I obviously did not make a gap correctly. What is the correct way? Or.. is there no way .. must the designer create multiple seperate corridors when the road has gaps?

Dec 29, 2013I started playing around with 3d dwf's. I'd like to share my corridors in a 3d dwf viewer or something similar but when it opens in design review, everything is skewed/ jagged/garbled. The other problem is that it exports everything (assemblies, alignments, sections etc.) so it make viewing navigation difficult in the viewer for people that aren't CAD savvy to begin with. It would be ideal if you could select what you want to export similar to exporting a wmf file.
How do others share 3d models with non-cad people?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Alignment From Corridor
Feb 7, 2013When creating an alignment from corridor feature (ditch invert level), the created alignment is not following the selected line (see image bellow). The alignment seams to be created from the first point of the feature line to the last point and ignores all the other points. The vertical alignment created at the same time seams to be correct.

red line= alignment
green line= feature line (code Intersecction) converted to polyline.
pink surface= surface (code TOP).
I have added a boundary for surface of type "add from polygon" and I have selected the closed polyline(green line).
However, the boundary seems doesn´t work.

Jun 7, 2012I have sevreal corridors with various spurs. The contractor wants the cut/fill volume in sections along the corridors, not one big cut/fill calc. Is there a way to do this in C3D? I have got the volume table with the chainages on, but he does not want a cumulitive figure for the whole corridor.
