Illustrator :: Can't Change Vector Perspective
Sep 27, 2013i made this vector on 3p perspective using an image background that was on 3d, how can i bring this 3p perspective vector to 1p perspective in a way that the vector will look 2d rather than 3d that it looks like now, i have tried to copy from on plane to another but it still looks the same, it doesnt transform.

May 9, 2013Here's my question re: editing an exisiting mask in CS6.
So, say I create the basic selection with the quick selection wand - for this example, maybe a selection of a horse.
But, if I don't get the area between the horses legs and want to select that area with the pen tool then delete it from the exisitng mask (i.e. clean up the mask with the pen tool) how do I do it?
I've seen lots of tutorials that talk about adding selections together, but that doesn't work in this case because my secondary selection is within the original selection.
I know this can be done with the brush tool (cleaning up masks) but I'd like to do it with the pen tool because the results are better.

Jul 22, 2013I'm working on a sticker with a Big Ben style clock on it. I've created it using the 2-point perspective ability in Illustrator. Unfortunately, I've decided that I want it to feel "taller" than when I started, so I need to shift the perspective. However, when I use the Perspective Grid Tool and adjust the ground or horizon line, it only adjusts the grid, not the artwork. Is there a way to have the artwork adjust with the grid so that I can move the artwork around in 3D space to find the right perspective?

May 23, 2013I have been working with the perseptive tool for a couple of hours now. I've watched 3 or 4 videos, and read writting directions but I can't for the lift of me figure out what's going on. I am using the perspective grid and selection tool. I can get my objects onto the left plane only. When I try to select for the right plain (2) or the horizontal grid (3) it keeps moving my shape back onto the left plane. I've tried using the icon to select the areas and I have tried using keyboard shortcuts. What am I doing wrong?

Illustrator :: Use Pen Tool To Perfectly Match Existing Path?
Jun 9, 2012I'm currently using the pen tool to trace out a Nike trainer to improve my basic skills and understanding of the tool.
The problem I'm having is that I want each section of the shoe to be its own shape so that I can edit the colours individually. However when drawing each section in some places I have to draw over the outlines of already created shapes and trying to match/overlap the paths as close as possible is a nightmare. I want to have a stroke enabled on all shapes to better define them but I get areas where the overlaping sections look uneven giving the shapes very unsmooth curves where overlapping occurs.
So I am just wondering if there is a way to enable the pen tool to snap to certain sections of existing paths so I have a perfect overlap when required?

Aug 25, 2009When you're editing a gradient within the shape (as opposed to in the Gradients palette), is there any way to use the eye dropper tool to sample an existing color? In-shape gradient editing (or whatever Adobe calls it) is useless without the eye dropper.

Illustrator :: Perspective Grid Tool - Make A Shadow Of Word Flat On Bottom Grid?
Apr 25, 2013When using the perspective grid tool and type, I have a word on the right side of the grid in perspective, and I want to make a shadow of this word flat on the bottom grid. (Like how a tall building casts a shadow flat on the ground)
I tried using the shear tool to do it but it is a bit tricky getting it just right. There must be an easier way to do it within the perspective tool grid.
When I type the word and align it to the bottom grid, how do I rotate it whilst still being aligned in perspective on the bottom grid?If I try and rotate the word using the selection tool it rotates off axis so it is no longer laying flat on the bottom grid.
Words placed on the bottom grid always read from the left vanishing point - I want the word to read from the right vanishing point so it aligns with my word on the right grid wall.

In fireworks, I am easily able to manipulate and edit vector shapes with many different methods.
One of these methods is to have two different vectors, one on top of the other so I can apply a 'union' to them for example, as well as, a 'punch', a 'cut out' and some other ones too.
I fail to see this function in photoshop, but I really do need this..

I _think_ it was Macromedia FreeHand 8, and that I used a plug-in w/in that program, but I can't recall. Any way other than rendering the drawing as a half-toned bitmap and then tracing it? Or re-drawing the image on top of such a bitmap?

Dec 20, 2012I have a set of styles created in 2010, the company I currently work for needs to have new styles added and I would like to use some of the styles I created to make my life a bit simpler in this process. I have created an Overall.dwt file using the current styles the company i work for has and I have imported my styles into this dwt. As im renaming these styles for my new company I noticed under the general tab for text style and block style I have text and block styles with my old companies name but i cant seem to find where the blocks or text style is being pulled from so i can edit it with a new name. So my question is where are these styles being saved so i can edit them

May 29, 2013I'm using CD X5, (I own it, not the trial download) and the Effects/Add Perspective menu choice is greyed out. ! Not selectable. I select the photo I want to change persp but the option is not available. I did reset the interface by pressing F8 upon load and it did change to default but still no perspective option.
Win 7 home Premium 64bit
I should add that this is the Home - Student version. Should that be any different? Nothing else has been ... yet anyway!
GIMP :: Snap To Grid Work With Perspective Tool?
Sep 3, 2011That option seems to cause the corners to snap to some other points which aren't the grid, and making vertical lines impossible.
Is there a way to make it use the grid just like how the rectangle select tool does?
