Can I edit with Photoshop label created in vector graphic (Adobe Illustrator, .AI), to make required changes, then convert label back to vector format? (since I need high quality vector graphic for printing).

if i export from AI to eps or ai, and import to x6 the graphic with fountain fills becomes raster, if i export to pdf, the graphic is almost okay, but not as i wish to.
Does anyone know of a tutorial or a site that may explain how to do this? I dont mind redrawing the graphic, but i would like vector graphic made.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've searched for a way to make a simple, one color image into a vector image. The best thing I've found is a .atn thing fromsPECtre. I've unzipped it but really don't understand photoshop well enough to use it.
I'd like to learn how to actually do it my self. I can easily make the image into a selection, all I need is to make that selection into a solid vector.
How do I do this?

I have sent an image to a printer in eps & Ai format., but he is requesting the the logo be in an outlined vector graphic, And send it to them again in pdf format.
I have re-opened the pdf that I sent them in Illustrator and find the logo is composed of many shapes and when I use the 'direct selection tool' to select any letter within the logo, it shows an outline with many anchor points. These anchor points can be moved or re-shaped using the 're-shape' tool.
Also I can select any shape within the logo & resize and it does not seem to lose any quality at all.
Am I mistaken in thinking that this is already an outlined vector logo or is there more to it?
I have drawn a colorful graphic with lots of little pieces, colors. Didn't name colors in it or built it with tints/shades of other colors. I want to make it grayscale now. What is fastest/most practical way to do that? Histogram works on bitmaps but I would like to retain vector format.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS5 on Mac OSX 10.7.4 and the graphic looks pretty good at 100%, and prints just fine. The design shop is trying to put it on a coffee cup though, and when they scale it down, it looks horrible. Pixelated everywhere.
-antialiasing is on
-resolution is 300 DPI
-align to pixel grid is not checked.

I cannot figure out how to separate a graphic from a a vector file I purchased on Shutter Stock which has a bunch of graphics in the file used for design. The file has layers, and I have tried to select just one of the layers to copy and paste into a new AI file, but it doesn't work. Nothing seems to be grouped together, and I have no idea how to tell if there is a compound path or not.
I need to separate all the images and then resize them as well. Then I want to export to a jpeg file so that I can use in photoshop and/or publisher.
I have a title consisting of a multitude of 3D letters with image overlays, in .ai and .eps formats. I want to bend it along a simple curve. I don't know where to begin, although I know how to create the curve using the Pen tool. After that my guess is that I need to use either the Mesh or Shape Builder tools. However, the Adobe Illustrator User Guide (consisting it would seem of online Help) clarifies nothing regarding the steps of the process. resource and in addition a good text that would step by step explain the process?

In fireworks, I am easily able to manipulate and edit vector shapes with many different methods.
One of these methods is to have two different vectors, one on top of the other so I can apply a 'union' to them for example, as well as, a 'punch', a 'cut out' and some other ones too.
I fail to see this function in photoshop, but I really do need this..
how I go about taking this complex graphic full of various lines to one simplified and united line drawing? We want to take and cut a vinyl window application. The white in the logo is what we want the vinyl to be. The gray only indicates the window.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI started using Paint.NET for all of my graphic editing about a month ago and the thing that I find most annoying is how the tool windows (Tools, History, Layers & Colors) get in the way when I'm working at 100% or more scale. I have to constantly move them/close them when I'm working with corners or edges.
Is there a way that I can combine the windows together (like the Tools bar in MSPaint) or make them not overlap the image so that they don't get in the way?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have found that edited grpahics that were previously fine start to be pixelated instead of vector. I can still edit the lines and anchor points but it is shown with pixels.
This has happened under a number of circumstances.
- copy a graphic from one drawing to another .. the first one is fine, the 2nd .....
- I completed a drawing then renamed it to edit it .. the edits are no longer displayed as vectors.

In a layout for an ebook I have some important black and white bitmap illustrations in tiff., 300 dpi. These have appeared ok on print, but on screen, reading the same pdf-file, they're unacceptable, especially some texts in fontsize 5-6 pt are unclear. I have to convert the drawings, or at least the texts, to vector graphics. Can I open these tiff.s in Photoshop, change only the texts to vector graphics and then save in a format, that can be inserted in the Word2010 layout?

I would like to interconnect the letters, as well as an angel I have made to go above the letters. My question is, how can I join two seperate vector images into one vector image. For example, joining a letter E with a letter D. I wonder if theres a way to do this without having to delete part of each image and then re-draw, which is a pain. View 15 Replies View RelatedI create a graphic in Corel Draw X4 and export it as a .png file. It is a button with rounded corners. It will be going on a black background when put into an iphone app. So as to not have the little white corners show up from the rectangular export window, I made the button on top of a black rectangle, slightly larger than the button. I then selected the black to be transparant during the dialogs of exporting to png. When viewed in an image viewer the black is indeed transparent and does not show up. All looks fine.
To test what it will look like when put on top of a black background, I also make a black square and export it as a .png. I then open the black background in Corel Photopaint and then import the graphic into the background image. A siloutte of it shows up with the marque borders but the graphic itself (the colors and contents of the graphic don't). When combined with the black background it just disappears. Why doesn't it just lay on top of the other graphic?
I am having trouble doing this in my current software, Serif Drawplus, PSE, Photoplus, (I have Gimp but haven't used it ever yet). And I am considering buying X6 for use in other projects. So, can x6 do this in either Photo Paint with a bitmap, or in X6 with a group of Vectors?
I want to wrap a bottle with a logo. The mesh warps aren't working for me in the above applications, and envelope warping will not work either. Transform-Warp is not present in PSE. I mention that because I see a tutorial for PS using that. How would Corel X6 Suite do this? I am considering buying the software once some questions I have about it are cleared up. I wish Corel would make the manual and tutorial videos public. I'd rather download the trial for actually using it rather than trying to see if some feature is present, or a workaround for a feature a competitor has.
I am also hoping to make in this project, some 10-20 different bottles with the logo on, of different sized bottles and different rotations of the bottles. Plan D is acquainting myself with Blender, but lets hope I don't have to go that far!
I am "vector tracing" a logo in PSP, and exporting it to Motionstudio 3D for an explosion effect. I am currently able to do this with no issue, but the explosion effect (specifically the size and shape of the particles) is based on connecting the nodes in a vector object. For example, if I have a capital L made up of 10 nodes, the subsequent explosion effect with separate the L into particles based on the 10 nodes. What I want to do is have the various nodes that comprise the traced letter connect with constituent nodes in the center/surface-area of the letter to form a "grid" (in PSP) so that the subsequent explosion (after export to Motionstudio) is comprised of more/smaller particles. Is there a way of not only having a vector object with "fill", but also having that "fill" made up of other vector data?
