I am curious if there is such a thing as Vector Clip Art? I'm looking for a Retro looking simple Rocket Graphic. I looked a little through my program and didn't find any Art but not sure I'm looking in the right place.

I would be able to edit the style to suit my text but struggling to create one from scratch after following write-ups and videos for the last 24hours!
Realise there are easier ways to make drop shadows but I need the drop shadow to be scaleable up to large sizes in a vector format as well as the text
fonts that could be used for a 1970's style retro poster I am producing.

if i export from AI to eps or ai, and import to x6 the graphic with fountain fills becomes raster, if i export to pdf, the graphic is almost okay, but not as i wish to.
Does anyone know of a tutorial or a site that may explain how to do this? I dont mind redrawing the graphic, but i would like vector graphic made.

The problem I'm running into is everything I try to follow mentions choosing Elevation Banding (2D) as the style. The only style I have to choose from is Standard. Does the Elevation Banding (2D) style normally come with the program? Or is this something you have to create?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have sent an image to a printer in eps & Ai format., but he is requesting the the logo be in an outlined vector graphic, And send it to them again in pdf format.
I have re-opened the pdf that I sent them in Illustrator and find the logo is composed of many shapes and when I use the 'direct selection tool' to select any letter within the logo, it shows an outline with many anchor points. These anchor points can be moved or re-shaped using the 're-shape' tool.
Also I can select any shape within the logo & resize and it does not seem to lose any quality at all.
Am I mistaken in thinking that this is already an outlined vector logo or is there more to it?
I have drawn a colorful graphic with lots of little pieces, colors. Didn't name colors in it or built it with tints/shades of other colors. I want to make it grayscale now. What is fastest/most practical way to do that? Histogram works on bitmaps but I would like to retain vector format.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS5 on Mac OSX 10.7.4 and the graphic looks pretty good at 100%, and prints just fine. The design shop is trying to put it on a coffee cup though, and when they scale it down, it looks horrible. Pixelated everywhere.
-antialiasing is on
-resolution is 300 DPI
-align to pixel grid is not checked.

I cannot figure out how to separate a graphic from a a vector file I purchased on Shutter Stock which has a bunch of graphics in the file used for design. The file has layers, and I have tried to select just one of the layers to copy and paste into a new AI file, but it doesn't work. Nothing seems to be grouped together, and I have no idea how to tell if there is a compound path or not.
I need to separate all the images and then resize them as well. Then I want to export to a jpeg file so that I can use in photoshop and/or publisher.
I have a title consisting of a multitude of 3D letters with image overlays, in .ai and .eps formats. I want to bend it along a simple curve. I don't know where to begin, although I know how to create the curve using the Pen tool. After that my guess is that I need to use either the Mesh or Shape Builder tools. However, the Adobe Illustrator User Guide (consisting it would seem of online Help) clarifies nothing regarding the steps of the process. resource and in addition a good text that would step by step explain the process?

I'd like to learn how to actually do it my self. I can easily make the image into a selection, all I need is to make that selection into a solid vector.

I want to change a car drawn in illustrator from RED to BLUE. It is very detailed in design with a variety of different gradations and mesh. I know about the feature Recolor artwork but i find that its not doing the job i want. Maybe I am missing something, or it only allows you one color chage a time instead of all colors to a BLUE .

Is there any convenient way to edit symbol, swatch or graphic style libraries? The way I do now is quite time-consuming: I open a library I need to edit, create a new symbol, select other symbols of the opened library (so that they appeared withing the generic "Symbols" tab alongside with the new symbol), then press "Save Symbol Lybrary", select the library I've already opened and replace it with the new one (with a new symbol added).
I would prefer just to open a user defined library, drag and drop a new symbol to it and save changes to the library. Is the latter method out there and I just don't know about it? If so, any trick to activate that method.
Copying an element which has a graphic style applied now breaks apart the style into individual elements if the style is applied to text, the text is outlined too. This never use to happen. Have tried changing the paste board setting but this changes nothing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble doing this in my current software, Serif Drawplus, PSE, Photoplus, (I have Gimp but haven't used it ever yet). And I am considering buying X6 for use in other projects. So, can x6 do this in either Photo Paint with a bitmap, or in X6 with a group of Vectors?
I want to wrap a bottle with a logo. The mesh warps aren't working for me in the above applications, and envelope warping will not work either. Transform-Warp is not present in PSE. I mention that because I see a tutorial for PS using that. How would Corel X6 Suite do this? I am considering buying the software once some questions I have about it are cleared up. I wish Corel would make the manual and tutorial videos public. I'd rather download the trial for actually using it rather than trying to see if some feature is present, or a workaround for a feature a competitor has.
I am also hoping to make in this project, some 10-20 different bottles with the logo on, of different sized bottles and different rotations of the bottles. Plan D is acquainting myself with Blender, but lets hope I don't have to go that far!
I bought Corel Draw X5 sometime back and had no issues.Then two weeks ago I purchased the Corel Draw X6 upgrade to take advantage of the 64 Bit design and the Free Corel Web Designer add on.My system is an AMD Phenom 965 x4 with a Win 7 HP 64 Bit OS loaded... 8GB RamI did non uninstall CD X5, when I loaded the CD X6So the problem....In Connect when I open a folder with pic files (raster) the Viewpane icons display normally...when I open a folder with Clip Art (vector) files each file displays the same default thumbnail with filename text caption... In my previous CD X5 32 bit install the Connect app worked with out errors displaying a Clip Art vector preview. Now after installing X6 64 bit, Connect in both x5 32 & x6 64 does not display previews for the clip-art .

View 14 Replies View RelatedIn a layout for an ebook I have some important black and white bitmap illustrations in tiff., 300 dpi. These have appeared ok on print, but on screen, reading the same pdf-file, they're unacceptable, especially some texts in fontsize 5-6 pt are unclear. I have to convert the drawings, or at least the texts, to vector graphics. Can I open these tiff.s in Photoshop, change only the texts to vector graphics and then save in a format, that can be inserted in the Word2010 layout?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to add smoke to a rocket using particle flow. However, while I have managed to do so, with only 400 shape facing particles (which look excellent), they seem to slow down the render about 10 fold than without.
The scene itself has 200,000 polygons with most, if not all, objects having mental ray Arch & Design materials on them. The particles however use a Standard material with particle age, gradient and noise maps. There is currently only one mr area spot light with raying shadows in the scene.
Also another thing is I would like the shape facing particles to be affected by backlighting but I've tried placing orange lights within the rocket boosters and this hasn't appeared to light up the particles in front of the booster towards the screen. I imagine the only way would be to use a material like mr Arch & Design to be translucent.
Is there a step I need to do to activate the red rocket? I have one installed but I don't notice a performance difference. I'm using 5k R3d files. Even at quarter DeBayer they stutter. Also, playback controls hesitate quite a bit. I updated to the latest Firmware today.
