I get to the warpping effect it seams photoshop offers more grid points than the perspective tool of GIMP. Any alternative technique or tool to accomplish this effect?
What I am trying to accomplish is to cut and paste a section of nail and lay it over the knotted rope but with only 4 grid points this does not cut it.
I am making a poster but not very experienced with GIMP.I want it to look like this:URL...The perspective tool doesn't work because it makes it unreadable as the text I want to use is quite long - 3 words long.

Is there a way to make it use the grid just like how the rectangle select tool does?
Wrapping “at inserts”,
I couldn’t see any effect for any of the choices of the wrapping “at inserts” (don’t wrap/exterior/interior/both) while wrapping “at ends” is reflected directly on the drawing.
How to see the effect of wrapping “at inserts”?
wrapping a continuous line of text around a 90 degree bend. The third attached image is exactly what I need it to do. That is something I just put together as an example though.
I have some repeating information that I want to wrap around the border of an image. Being that it is repeating information, the text can also look like the first and second image uploaded, where part of the word is cut off. I would prefer this to be minimal though.
So far all I have found in my time searching on this leaves the words distorted.
No matter the complications, this also needs to be scripted. It is not feasible to do this manually as the repeating information is dynamic.

I have a logo that I created using the script fu macros. What I want to do now is that create a button shape with rounded edge and put the logo ( a rectangular) and bend its edges to wrap around the button without distorting the text of the logo itself. how do I do that?

I need exactly to the front. I think this is because perspective based on the center of rectangle (in the green circle) not on the center of cylinder. Is it possible to move the center of rectangle? I have hand problems and any time I need to move something very precisely I use the arrow keys, or risk hurting my hands. If not, would there be some way to do this with a macro? Also, is there some setting for it – other than having to hold down the shift and control keys while you click and drag, which is just a killer for me – that will arrange it in ways that are only symmetrical (where if you move one side the other side moves equally in the opposite direction)? As far as I can see, rectangular and freehand settings behave the same.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm tearing my hair out after creating an iPod jukebox style ad (i.e. album cover carousel) where the pix made with the LEFT perspective using Mold tool work fine, but the two made with RIGHT perspective using Mold tool come out skewed rather than moulded after exporting to PDF.
All images are jpegs; I've checked and am doing exact same process on either side. Tried killing the images in bitmap gallery and re-importing - makes no difference.
I'm thinking that once the perspective tool is enable the starting/ending coordinates of the fountain fill should lock relative to the shape. What ya think?
As a work around you can position the to be perspective guide shape so the starting/ending coordinates of the fountain fill at least fall close?

I'm working on a sticker with a Big Ben style clock on it. I've created it using the 2-point perspective ability in Illustrator. Unfortunately, I've decided that I want it to feel "taller" than when I started, so I need to shift the perspective. However, when I use the Perspective Grid Tool and adjust the ground or horizon line, it only adjusts the grid, not the artwork. Is there a way to have the artwork adjust with the grid so that I can move the artwork around in 3D space to find the right perspective?

I select the photo I want to change persp but the option is not available. I did reset the interface by pressing F8 upon load and it did change to default but still no perspective option.

I created a carpet and decorated it with symbols. When I tried to place it in the perspective grid with the perspective tool, it wouldn't move. I can move it fine with the selection tool and there's a bounding box but nothing happens when I use the perspective selection tool.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a photo of a coffee table that's on an angle. I want to rotate this table so it looks like you're standing in front of it and seeing the front. The problem is the Rotate, Perspective, and Map Object tools don't seem to be able to do it. I also tried a plug-in called EZ Perspective, but that also doesn't seem to work.
At this point, I'm guessing you can't change the perspective of an image (up, down, left, right) because it's flat and not 3D, and no program knows what the other sides would look like. Is that correct, or can I do what I want and just don't know how, yet?

In the old days, one could just use the crop tool and, while drawing crop lines, check the perspective box if you found that you needed to change the perspective. With CS6 if you start with the crop tool, and find you want to change the perspective, you have to change tools to the new perspective crop tool. In the process, you have to tell the newly opened dialog box that you don't want to crop, to get to the perspective tool, which now has reset to its defaults. You've lost your cropping and you have to start over.

I've watched 3 or 4 videos, and read writting directions but I can't for the lift of me figure out what's going on. I am using the perspective grid and selection tool. I can get my objects onto the left plane only. When I try to select for the right plain (2) or the horizontal grid (3) it keeps moving my shape back onto the left plane. I've tried using the icon to select the areas and I have tried using keyboard shortcuts. What am I doing wrong?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Lightroom 5 I really like the Perspective Correction tool which always produces white Out-of-Canvas areas as a result of image deformation.As a "constain crop" very often would cut out a lot of interesting details, I love to Crop the image a bit wider.The problem are the white areas remaining that were not present in the original, undistorted image.I would love to fill them in with the Clone Tool, but it does not seem to work on those areas!

I tried using the shear tool to do it but it is a bit tricky getting it just right. There must be an easier way to do it within the perspective tool grid.
When I type the word and align it to the bottom grid, how do I rotate it whilst still being aligned in perspective on the bottom grid?If I try and rotate the word using the selection tool it rotates off axis so it is no longer laying flat on the bottom grid.
Words placed on the bottom grid always read from the left vanishing point - I want the word to read from the right vanishing point so it aligns with my word on the right grid wall.
