Revit :: How To See The Effect Of Wrapping At Inserts
Nov 4, 2012
Wrapping “at inserts”,
I couldn’t see any effect for any of the choices of the wrapping “at inserts” (don’t wrap/exterior/interior/both) while wrapping “at ends” is reflected directly on the drawing.
How to see the effect of wrapping “at inserts”?

I've been working up a window family that includes a correction for sizing the window to the structural core rather than a finish (plaster and render) which is what Revit does by default.
I've managed to get the system functioning correctly at plan reveals - but for some reason, the finishes will not wrap at window head / cill level. I've set up 2 wall closure ref planes - called 'Closure External' and 'Closure Internal' and used these to control the extent of the finish wrapping.
I've gone away to check the perfomance of the standard revit window families - and all of them seem to do the same thing, and fail to wrap any of the finishes at the window head despite wrapping correctly at plan reveals.
In all cases above - the walls are set to wrap both internal and external at inserts.

I get to the warpping effect it seams photoshop offers more grid points than the perspective tool of GIMP. Any alternative technique or tool to accomplish this effect?
What I am trying to accomplish is to cut and paste a section of nail and lay it over the knotted rope but with only 4 grid points this does not cut it.

I do not understand door wrapping from the manual. What does that mean?
Also, door wrapping (ext) from ext = 102.5mm, what does this mean?
Also, door wrapping (int) from ext = 177.5mm, what does this mean?
Door panel width is about half of door width. Therefore I am confused what panel width mean since it should be roughly same as door width.

I have a problem wrapping a wall around a decustomised angled sill.
1. The Brick layer should wrap around the concrete core
2. The plaster should cover the whole wall and not stop at the sill

run a football (soccer) club for children whose parents are in the British Forces, posted out in Germany.I'm wanting to add a border/insert which can hold a bit of information about the player, to action photos i've taken of the child.
I've found an example of what I want (which will hopefully make more sense!) from a player photo from the football team I follow The border/shape has curved edges and it's main area has the club badge, players details (D.O.B. birthplace, playing position, name and squad number)

We are starting to install AutoCAD 2014 on our machines. On one of our machines, the user can't get double click editing to work on inserts. I can open the drawing on my machine and it works fine. She is using the same profile and workspace and both machines have SP1 installed. Double click editing works for other objects (MLeaders, Text...) but not for inserts or their attributes. The only way she can edit the attribute text is through the property window.

I've recently started using Inventor at my small shop and I'm just getting things kicked off. One thing that we do fairly often involves the use of key locking inserts, similar to McMaster # 90245A034 (I couldn't post a link directly to their catalog page........)
So I'd like to edit my Thread.XLS file to include a tab for this, so I could choose the internal thread and it would create a tapped hole to a certain depth. For example, a 3/8"-16 insert has a 9/16"-12 external thread and needs a tap drill diameter of 0.516, 0.57" deep. The 9/16"-12 thread needs to be 0.56" deep by the chart.
My question is, how do I control the depths within the spreadsheet? I'm assuming that I can't just add a column and call it "tap depth" and "drill depth" and have it be good. Is there some "teach" process to tell Inventor what column represents what kind of feature?

Im currently creating a custom menu to insert blocks on request. I have set up the following macro which seems to work fine:-
^c^c-insert;HVLV-UB610x125;;;;
However when pulling in a specific block the drawing the layer becomes 0.
Ive tryed adding this additional macro line before the above one which fixes the problem :-
^C^C-LAYER;M;E-LIGHTING-CEIL;C;R;;;ORTHOMODE;1;^c^c-insert;HVLV-UB610x125;;;;
However now the block retains its layer properties ......ie E-Lighting-Ceil (or what ever I name it) but it drops the block
in RED, instead of its original colour.
Question is Im looking for a macro that will bring in my block as per ^c^c-insert;HVLV-UB610x125;;;;
but also bring it in to a drawing on its original layer that its saved to.
please note that even thou the first code brings it in at layer 0, the blocks layer is also inserted into the DWG however its just not associated to it ..... hence the user has to select the block once he or she has brought it in and then change the layer from the layers manager manually. This is not ideal.
just to recap i just need a macro that will A) bring in a block from a location. And B) keep all the properties it has when it is brought in.

I have an existing drawing that was created in AutoCad 2012. I now have AutoCad mechanical 2013 and when I try to insert a steel member into the drawing (metric) the member inserts very small. How do I solve this problem and get the shapes to insert at the proper scale to the drawing?

I am working on a lisp routine that automatically inserts a parameter in a block and then ads a stretch command to it. But the problem is that for the stretch command u need to select the drawn parameter. So my plan was to get the name of this parameter (car (entsel)) and feet it to my lisp program. But when i do that it doesn't work because autocad demands a parameter.

how to "wrap around" an image into another image? What I'm doing is I have an image of a vitamin bottle, and I have designed a label for it, so what I need to do is to "paste" this label on the bottle digitally so it would look as if the label is really glued to the bottle.
Is there a special technique in Photoshop to do this? Not sure if it is the filter called Displace then use Wrap Around?

I need a program on which I can create a mockup of commercial wrapping paper. By that I mean something that will accommodate the huge (like 23x40) size of the average sheet of wrapping paper.
Can Photoshop do this? I don't even have the program yet . . because I need to find out if Photoshop is the best program to do it in.

I own a little web site and as I add new products right now the web designers have to make the images up.
Basically the images is of the mug slogan wrapped round the mug (see below)
now these guys are brilliant but I don't want to have to keep bothering them as they are busy doing other good work..
how I can do this myself, all images to go on the mugs are 1000x1000 but I can scale them down to whatever size I need... I've managed to work out how to do text but not graphics..

I came across this thread
[URL]..........
explaining how to wrap a label around a cylinder. However when I try myself, I obtain an enormous 3D cylinder with my label glued on it and once I reduce the size of the cylinder to the desired size, my label is minuscule. Additionally, it takes me ages to rotate/scale the cylinder in the right way.
Why is the 3D cylinder provided by Photoshop so enormous ?

I'm a writer and what you see below was my first published article back in 1999, therefore I would like to have a good copy. As you can tell, the newspaper in the image is beat up and faded, so I thought I would chop up the JPG, lay it all out again in PS and fly in my text.
When I select text from WORD and paste it into a PS Text box, there are enormous gaps in between sentences. How I can fly my text into the re-done article so it looks exactly like the newspaper copy, except the text is crispy and clear-y.
Original newspaper article:
New layout:
Text - I tried to lay it out so it would sorta fit the format of the original article. FAIL

I set wrapping to the big A-letter to "Above/Below" and save file.
After opening the wrapping is in "Straddle Text" mode...
I am working with columns of paragraph text and this thing makes me very angry, because I must re-set this objects' wrapping mode to compensate text flow-back.

I am trying to do is wrap a text around an image.
For instance, I would like to say:
Georgia is on my mind.
However, I want to wrap this around an oval image
So, basically, the text, "georgia is on my mind" would wrap around the oval image making everything look round.
Can photoshop do this?
If yes, can someone point to a tutorial that will help?
if no, do you know of a *free* image/text editor that can do this?

how do I use the text tool to wrap text around an image. Just like any news site or editorial site where the text wraps around the image and there is padding added to the image so the text is not right up against the image.
I want to be able to control the wrapping and I know there must be a way with PS CS.
