Illustrator :: Perspective Selection Tool Stuck On Plane Left (1)

I have been working with the perseptive tool for a couple of hours now. I've watched 3 or 4 videos, and read writting directions but I can't for the lift of me figure out what's going on. I am using the perspective grid and selection tool. I can get my objects onto the left plane only. When I try to select for the right plain (2) or the horizontal grid (3) it keeps moving my shape back onto the left plane. I've tried using the icon to select the areas and I have tried using keyboard shortcuts. What am I doing wrong?

I can't figure out why the selection tool won't work. When active, I can't grab an object to move it and the icon next to the selection arrow is a line with an arrow pointing to the left, like this
I created a carpet and decorated it with symbols. When I tried to place it in the perspective grid with the perspective tool, it wouldn't move. I can move it fine with the selection tool and there's a bounding box but nothing happens when I use the perspective selection tool.
In Indesign CS6 using Mountain Lion, the hand tool appears and I can't select or work with any other tool. All I can do is move the document around. After trying the space bar and other key commands I restarted and it worked for a while. Then it happened again. I work on a Macbook pro, so when I removed the mouse and worked only with the trackpad there was no change. When I quit and reopened, no change. I then deleted prefs and restarted and it worked, but it's been happening from time to time. Any other fix without restarting or deleting prefs.
I am in some trouble in the one-point perspective in Illustrator. I am making a scene where I need the vanishing point to be on the left and the vanishing plane on the right, in one-point perspective. I just moved the vanishing point & plane where I want it to be, but Illustrator still thinks the plane is on the left, so when ever I type something and move it onto the vanishing plane, it becomes mirrored. How do I go about this? Can I change the settings for the planes or do I have to reflect the text each and every time?
Watching the movie in Digital Tutors: Understanding Perspective Drawing in Illustrator - Movie 6: 7:20 Â In this movie, and in Adobe instructions, it says that to change a planes position onto a particluar point of an object from its default position of 0 one needs to place cursor over the point that you wish the plane to come to and hold shift down. When I do this, the plane I want to move to that point disappears. When I make it reappear, it is in its original position of 0. Â how to make it move where I want it to?
I have a tall rectangle I want to place on the horizontal plane of the perspective grid.
Clicking that plane in the widget, or slecting the rectangle and hitting 2, results in the rectangle oriented towards the right vanishing point (or 2:00). I need it to point the other way, toward the left vanishing point (to 10:00).
When I use the quick selection tool to remove something, I am always left with a shadow counture of the area that I want to get rid of. I guess I have to make another kind of setting or something, but I cannot find any that works. Photoshop CS6 W7.
This morning, my Selection Tool (the filled-in arrow) is acting like a Direct Selection Tool (the hollow arrow), but only when I click and drag on a group. It ends up select the anchors within the group rather than the whole group itself.  I've checked my preferences, quit and relaunched Illustrator a few times, and nothing seems to fix it. The problem briefly went away a few minutes ago, but came back when I quit and relaunched for good measure.  It's happening in Illustrator CS 5.1. I have CS6, and that version works fine, but I'm waiting on some plugins to be updated for it, so I'd like to use CS 5.1. I'm also running the latest Suitcase Fusion 4.
my Adobe Illustrator CS3 where I'll be using the pen tool, and out of nowhere (usually after I've undone a couple of things it seems), the program will get stuck on the hand tool, and won't switch to any other tool. Time seems to be the only remedy because the problem will persist even if I try to work on another file, or restart the program. It also carries over to Photoshop.
I'm in Illustrator 5.5 and my cursor is stuck on the pencil tool. I can't change the tool with either my mouse or hot keys. I can't even select all my artwork to paste into a new file.
1. when copy/pasting after the first few times the objects start to appear really far away from the cursor, i have to zoom out to even see where they are trying to paste to.
2. randomly commands will seem to be stuck on the xy plane. I switch to left view and dimensioning will only want to measure lines from a top view.
Using the selection tool i should be able tp reduce or shrink the size of the box or an image as a whole without changing the format. Iam not able to do that. I think i disabled something in my illustrator.
I'm working on a sticker with a Big Ben style clock on it. I've created it using the 2-point perspective ability in Illustrator. Unfortunately, I've decided that I want it to feel "taller" than when I started, so I need to shift the perspective. However, when I use the Perspective Grid Tool and adjust the ground or horizon line, it only adjusts the grid, not the artwork. Is there a way to have the artwork adjust with the grid so that I can move the artwork around in 3D space to find the right perspective?
Struggling with an Educational version of 3ds Max 2013, and all of a sudden I can't seem to draw a vertical line (or shape) up the z axis in the perspective view -- I seem to be locked to the x/y plane and am loosing my mind...
Can the add, delete, convert indicators be moved from the right side of the pen curser to the left of the curser for right handed users? The indicators are obscured by the pen when using the pen in the right hand on the Wacom Cintiq. Option preference for right or left hand is desired.
I don't understand if the problem is the same of this: [URL] Â Any way i do not understand with after using -convert point tool- the tool -Direction tool- (2) do not leave me to manage both the direction handles (3). I have been trying to create a button set with a foreground shape. What I am trying to accomplish is when this guy creates a selection with pen tool and deletes part of gradient from the button set, this gives it a shape/theme to the button set – This way I can create any shape on the buttons and they look like a theme. (maybe I am not explaining well but you get the idea) Where I am stuck is when I select all buttons and apply gradient to all, it only applies to a single layer (button) instead of all even though I can see all selected. Also when I make selection with pen tool and delete the gradient, it deletes from only one.
When using the perspective grid tool and type, I have a word on the right side of the grid in perspective, and I want to make a shadow of this word flat on the bottom grid. (Like how a tall building casts a shadow flat on the ground) Â I tried using the shear tool to do it but it is a bit tricky getting it just right. There must be an easier way to do it within the perspective tool grid. Â When I type the word and align it to the bottom grid, how do I rotate it whilst still being aligned in perspective on the bottom grid?If I try and rotate the word using the selection tool it rotates off axis so it is no longer laying flat on the bottom grid. Â Words placed on the bottom grid always read from the left vanishing point - I want the word to read from the right vanishing point so it aligns with my word on the right grid wall.
I am working on a PC with Illustrator CS6 and an Intuos 4 Wacom pad. Essentially, when I use the selection tool, it will drag the selection box around with me until the pen stops hovering. So I click down, it starts to drag a selection box, I remove the pen and it keeps dragging.
So, I just installed Illustrator CC, which I now have on a trial license. About an hour ago, illustrator suddenly started refusing to move any objects while I'm in the Selection Tool. I can move the objects only in Free Transform. I use hot keys a lot, so it's really slowing me down. I hit "V" to click on and then move an object, and then it won't move. I get the error sound, but no dialogue box pops up to explain what the error is.  Since I'm getting ready to bite the bullet and start paying a hefty monthly fee for this program when my trial runs out, this is pretty aggravating.Â
when working on illustrator my selection tools won't adjust shapes anymore. I can move shapes around but I cannot resize them or stretch them. If I have a rectangle shape on my screen selected, the hash marks that are normally in the middle are no longer there, also at the edges of the rectangle the selection tool doesn't change over to the rotate tool. My selection tool also has a small black square at the bottom right of it that I haven't noticed before. I have no clue how I got into this mode, preferably without resetting all of my preferences,
Noramlly in CS5 and any other version of Photoshop or Illustrator that I know of, if you click a point in an object, it will show the handles for transforming the line. As I'm creating something today, it works for a while and then stops. Yesterday I had the same problem. I drew a few things and then suddenly, the Direct Select Tool is not showing any transform handles. Â I can get them to show if I can click and drag a box over the point, but this is slow and doesn't work well for layered art. I already tried resetting my illustrator preferences. Â Also, in CS5 there's a simple icon that you can click to convert the currently selected point from a curved point to an angled point. Is there not such a thing in CS2?
