I'm working on a quick reference guide that will be screen printed onto a metal panel and would like to use either an em or en space at a few points within the text. I can't for the life of me figure out how to accomplish this in AI CS4. at least an alternative if this isn't an option?

when entering text, mega spaces seem to be a default between lines of text. Changing the leading does nothing to correct this. Thinking that my software became corrupted, I deactivated and reinstalled. But the problem persists. If I type the text into Word, cut and paste into PSE10, the problem continues.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOut of the blue, my type tool has been acting funny in Illustrator CS6. Generally my text boxes or bounding boxes are outlined in blue. However, now they are black. I'm not sure what instigated the change. Now I am typing in illustrator and it won't show any spaces between words.In the character pannel, the kerning is set to auto and tracking is set to 0. What are these black text boxes of death?

I'm exploring custom brushes in Illustrator (CS6) but cannot figure out how to get rid of the spaces in between my brush pattern. I have the brush stretched to fit and the spacing at 0% but there is still a tiny gap before each pattern repetition. I tried to make the spacing a negative % but you can't do that.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working in Adobe Illustrator CS6 and neither the Distribute Spaces Option nor Distribute Object Option are working.It doesn't seem to matter if it's a print or web document. Doing the same thing to the same document/graphics in CS5.1 works perfectly.
Copypasteing the correctly distributed objects from CS5.1 to CS6 works ok, and if i then repeat the Distribute spaces option nothing changes and it stays correctly distributed. (read: it doesn't badly distribute like before)

View 2 Replies View RelatedHow exactly you add an Classification to an Space Object(and by Classification i mean the part under Space object properties>Extended Data>Classifications where normally the SIS one is located).
I'm trying trough .NET (C# to be specific) to change the information on a space with something from the Classification Definitions specified in the drawing. I'm able to read the data from the current ones, however if any of the classifications is using the Default(By style) value the space.ClassficationCollection doesn't contain that particular Classification.
In the document i've got a classification definition for spaces called "Space function" and an assorted list of various functions the space itself can be assigned, like Elevetor-shaft, Bathroom/Shover etc.
How to do this or tell if it's impossible to do, Sample below show on how i'm currently getting the information on the space:

Software i'm working with is: Autodesk Autocad MEP 2012.
I have just upgraded my PC to speed up my photo editing workflow. I now want a wide gamut monitor for proof editing my prints - of whhich I make a great deal at home. Ideally I would set the wide gamut monitor to a low brightness to match my paper and only use for photo editing. BUT I also want to regularly use the internet and run other software that much better suits the sRGB colour space. I was thinking of running a second standard spec monitor for internet access and to use as the tool panels in Lightroom and Photoshop.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have a layered file, the color space assigned to it is sRGB. I save a png file via Save For Web, tick the option to convert export to sRGB. All looks good in the save for web 2-up preview. But when I open the new png file, it's color profile is set to Adobe RGB, and the color space looks off—not like it did in the SFW preview.
Details: My default color space is Adobe RGB. Sync'd across all CS5 apps. I have the option ticked to warn me on profile mismatches when opening a file. So far so good.
So it seems like my Working Space color (Adobe RGB) is overriding SFW settings as well as my document color space settings

I have created an action that converts to LAB, applies a couple of curves, and then converts the image back to RBG. I created a droplet with the intent of using the droplet in Lightroom. My plan was to apply to a smart collection of photos. However, the droplet says that the convert is not available. What am I doing wrong? Am I approaching this the wrong way? Is there a better way? I take team photos and I have HUNDREDS to do. This droplet will save me DAYS of editting time.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been playing with the text styles and my text boxes are getting closer to the format that I want. There easy to read in the preview section. But the spaces between paragraphs looks to big, so I want to reduce it.
Corel Draw has a docker for paragraph formatting where we can place spaces above or below a paragraph.
I have found the theme legends on the documentation tool palette, but I was wondering how the themes are assigned to the individual spaces? I would have expected additional spaces to be loaded into the file at the time the legend was brought in.
Is the active connection between the legend and the individuals spaces? or is the legend only a static representation?
Will i need to create these space types or are they hidden within the Design Center or a catalog?
Is it possible to assign furniture and other objects to specific spaces similar to the assigning of doors and windows?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am renaming a bunch of blocks that had non-descriptive code names with new descriptive names for our power substation division. Example: 2002 -> Strain Clamp U Bolt.
I am debating whether I should put spaces in the new names or use the under-bar '_' for spaces. If I use spaces the names will look nicer and may word wrap better when I put these blocks into a tool palette. But I'm paranoid about using spaces because of the nagging feeling it might be a problem down the road, say with parsing in lisp code or something.

After some difficulties I eventually got a case number which meant that I could get some support. I supplied a problem description and sample files to first level support. This is the reply that I received:
The file was saved as 16 bit TIFF with ProPhoto as the color space, this one is a big factor because PaintShop Pro (X5 or X6) has its own color space and is only supporting RGB color space. It is normal for PaintShop Pro to convert your image to sRGB because that is the embedded color space. Also, I suggest you to contact ProPhoto to know what do they support or if they support PaintShop Pro.
Color shifting is normal due to the color space that is being used by a specific program (i.e. PaintShop Pro). Colors that are not within the range of RGB color space will be determined as imaginary colors.
