I want to create a circular shaped elevator with a circular fence around it that's roughly half the size of an average sized character standing on it. I then wish it import this as a static mesh into UDK.
Here are 2 sketched up designs of the elevator, what I want to create.

I am very new to 3DS Max so I would prefer a list of steps to follow to create this elevator with a a fence,
How to create these thick/thin lines like in the atom illustration I've added here:
I need to create arrowheads (two) as well on each circular shape, so that's why I'm trying to figure out a technique of doing this through the use of the LINE tool (for easy addition of the arrowheads, obviously).
The problem: I want a circular pattern for rectangular shaped holes, and I don't want the holes to rotate. The circular pattern doesn't have an option to retain the orientation.

I'm not sure what instigated the change. Now I am typing in illustrator and it won't show any spaces between words.In the character pannel, the kerning is set to auto and tracking is set to 0. What are these black text boxes of death?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm exploring custom brushes in Illustrator (CS6) but cannot figure out how to get rid of the spaces in between my brush pattern. I have the brush stretched to fit and the spacing at 0% but there is still a tiny gap before each pattern repetition. I tried to make the spacing a negative % but you can't do that.
View 22 Replies View Relatedis it possible to make a new document and instead of having it shaped like a rectangle/square, to have it shaped like a octagon? I'm making a square shaped business card, but I want the right side of the card to have a zig-zag pattern cut out on it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this mysterious grid on my art board that appeared because I hit something accidentally. It is a mesh grid for some purpose. No clue what it is or how to get rid of it, let alone describe it. Remains after I turn the visibility of all my layers off. No selection tool will select it. Unknown cubic icon in upper left of art board. No apparent cues in Illustrator about what this is. Nothing in appearance panel. Lovely program, Adobe. I just upgraded from CS3 to CS6; not a feature in CS3.
The only solution I know is to create an entirely new document and cut and past may entire illustration into it.
Case 1: Open the photo in Photoshop. Create a clipping mask (in my case a teardrop shape) in Photoshop. Place the PSD file into Illustrator
Problem:This works OK but when you view the image closely in Illustrator the edges are jagged
Case 2: Open the photo in Photoshop. Create a clipping mask (in my case a teardrop shape) in Photoshop. Do a "Save As" the Photoshop file as a PDF file using [High Quality Print] as the Adobe PDF Preset. Place the PDF file into Illustrator
Problem: None - now the edges are perfectly smooth, not jagged
I'm working in Adobe Illustrator CS6 and neither the Distribute Spaces Option nor Distribute Object Option are working.It doesn't seem to matter if it's a print or web document. Doing the same thing to the same document/graphics in CS5.1 works perfectly.
Copypasteing the correctly distributed objects from CS5.1 to CS6 works ok, and if i then repeat the Distribute spaces option nothing changes and it stays correctly distributed. (read: it doesn't badly distribute like before)
areaText.contents = "This is an Area Text in a rectangle. See how it flows to the next line.";
/*
i want to break the sentance from 'Text' ie i want to add new line in between and also some more spaces.
*/
For example: I want to write the above text like this way
this is an Area. Text in a rectangle. See how it flows to the next line.
my 3d extruded objects have open spaces or voids on some of the surfaces
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to find the best solution in Illustrator 5.5 to reproduce the attached picture below. I keep focus on the arrows only and I want to keep the controllability (number of arrows for instance) as long as possible. What I did is as follows and is quite limited:
1 - I create a stroke with no arrowhead
2 - I multiply it and translate it along x by using the transform effect (Effect, Distort and Transform, Transform...)
3 - I use the Free Transform tool to adapt the length of each stroke
4 - I then expand the appearance of the objects and add an arrowhead to every stroke.
I'd like to have the arrowheads created in step 1 and I would like to keep control of the transform effect until the end.
I just bought CS6 and upgraded to Mac 10.8.3. I don't know which is the culprit, but my arrows in Ilustrator will no longer nudge anything.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a grid of objects—say, tiny squares. I'd like to make arbitrarily-shaped selections of those objects—for instance, select a star-shaped group of the squares. Or a circle-shaped group of the squares. Or use text paths to select letter-shaped groups of the squares.
I could imagine a utility that lets me choose an arbitrary shape/path, and then turn that into a selection of objects on the canvas. Is this possible?
Right now I'm stuck using the lasso tool to hand-draw shape selections but it's not accurate enough for what I need to do.
How to take the Castellar MT font and fill in the blank spaces in the letters with colour? I need to use this font because that's my company's font for their name and I'm trying to design a sign. I have used the blob brush, but I keep getting tiny little specks that look like they're not filled in.

Can we sort or re-organize the custom arrows?

Here's what I have so far:

Secondly, the bottom arrow is above everything, instead of above at the point and below at that base. How does one achieve that feat?
We recently built our new company website which we're happy enough with. However one element we tried to capture was an interactive donught shaped pie chart, using javascript to click on each seperate section.
The end result can be viewed at URL....
You'll notice imemdiately that the part that's a little off is the text which sits in each section. IS there an easier way to combine the graphic, text and javascript to achieve the effect we're looking for?
