View 2 RepliesI receive a 1 kilometer wall plane, because its so long the architect change the aspect ratio x10 times less the real length. Now to engineer it I need to rescale it to be 1 to 1.
If I use the method of converting it to a block by changing the X property, all the text goes massy.
I don’t know how to tackle it. Is there a way to rescale the geometry without effecting the text on the way? If I didn’t mention it….i need the text to be in the perspective position so I can’t just hide it.

I'm having trouble with a logo I've created in an svg. file. I seem to have to finalized, but when I save it as a pdf. to take it to the printers I see parts of the logo suddenly have no stroke or stroke has been added in other parts.
I don't seem to have any hidden layers I don't think. I'm not sure if there is a setting to change in the window that gives you all the options to choose from when you're saving something as a pdf. Or is there a setting I should be activating when finalizing this logo as an svg that prevents such problems. I'm pretty new to illustrator, before this I was using inkscape which I got the feel of until i decided to go pro with illustrator.
I've came across a thought, how to transform a grouped object. like in Photoshop when we use the distort transformation, we can manipulate the corner points for a particular occasion. Here in the example I have 3 rectangles one smaller than another, and I I have grouped them. Now I'm trying to figure out a way how to adjust the shape into the grey one. I have used the free distort tool, but does no justice. because there is no preview so I cannot see how it adjusts. I'm only after the equivalent of the distortion like in Photoshop.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make a 3D cross section of a building in Illustrator CS5 and I've gotten a lot done already, but now I cannot transform the objects in 3D perspective space.
See Attachment: I can draw and position them in perspective, but when I select the "Perspective Selection Tool (red)" and select an object, the handles in the corners / sides are not visible anymore (blue).
resizing objects by changing the width and height values in the Transform window, while keeping the proportions of the object? When I try this in CS6, the proportions of the object gets totally botched.
This is what I do:
1. Draw a straight line that is rotated some 30-40°.
2. Select the line and click in the W: or H: fields in the Transform window.
3. Make sure that the "Constrain Width and Height Proportions" button is selected.
4. Press and hold the up arrow key on the keyboard.
5. Watch how the line is rotated as it is scaled.
I notice that while I'm pressing the up or down keys, the number in the selected width or height field is incremented nicely (21 mm, 22 mm, 23 mm, 24 mm, etc.), but when I release the key, it is adjusted to a seemingly random number (for example 24 mm -> 24.168 mm). If I switch between pressing up and down for some time, the adjustment can be even more random (24 mm -> 58,944 mm).
I recently upgraded from CS3 where this type of scaling worked flawlessly. I'm using a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.7.5.
New to Illustrator, coming from CorelDraw background, wanting to notch up a lvele or two. I am trying to make a series of business cards, for some people in the same company, and thought I should make new artboard for each business card, but somehow duplicate common text and graphics on all of them. Is this possible with something lika a Transform dynamic effect?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI produced some objects in Inventor 2013 and exported to DWG to be assembled in AutoCAD 2013. All is fine except when i look at the objects in a 'hidden' view these weird diagonal lines appear over the objects. I am unable to clcik these but when i zoom in they gradually disappear but. If I try to plot the object as shown these lines are printed. This also happens when saving to pdf.

View 12 Replies View RelatedThe previous version of PS CC had been working fine for me but today I installed 14.1 and I started noticing that when I would select an object and then hit "control t" that not all but many of the layers would kick back this response "Could not transform the path because the selected portion of the path does not enclose any pixels." Many of these are images and text. I don't see the problem happening with vector shapes. The one work around I found was to turn on the "Show Transform Tools" in the select tool panel.

When I try to scale down a Smart Object, by using the Free Transform tool, I get over-sharped edges. Mind you when I do the same on a raster layer I can overcome it since there is an option box where I can choose interpolation method.
View 4 Replies View Relatedwhat I'm trying to do is make a selection and, with either the paintbrush or eraser, put a single coat of the selected brush texture on that entire selection.
I've downloaded some really great brush sets and I want to apply one of them to the whole canvas as if I've painstakingly gone over the whole canvas and applied one coat of the paint brush or eraser. All the Google explanations refer to the smart brush which I can't seem to find. Perhaps its no longer in CS6?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having stroke issues. I'm not sure if it's a document setting somewhere or a bug. In one of my documents, when I draw a box and try to set the stroke to inside, it offsets, like this:
Notice that the stroke is on top in the appearance panel, yet the fill is masking half the stroke. If I resize the box, it changes the offset: It was also snapping any stroke weight under 1 pt to 1 pt when my fill was a gradient, although that doesn't seem to be a problem with this shape. Another strange thing is that in a different existing document, the stroke works properly, but if I open a new document with this one open, the same problem occurs in the new document. Is this a document setting?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have made a wood panel with capabilities to be made adaptive but when i place it into a drawing using the place command i cannot seem to copy it any of the different ways without it being attached and/or effecting the original. I would like to refrain from designing a second because there are many panels in each room and it would take a long time. I'm sure I'm just forgetting something simple and it's causing this to occur.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith shapes that are intended to fit exactly with one another, such as shapes created with pathfinder>divide I find often that there are very small cracks between the shapes and that these will show up if the shapes are exported to Photoshop in a more pronounced way.
What's the workaround to 'seal' one shape to another and rid the result of these gaps?
Joining the shapes is not an option as they are different colours.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I write a text in illustrator, there appears a small grey border around the text. When I save it as a pdf or jpg, then it’s gone. So I’m sure it’s not a stroke. It more looks like some kind of path around the text. When I draw another shape (square, circle…) then there is no problem .I’ve reset illustrator (removed the presets) but that didn’t do anything.
