View 12 RepliesTried to remove some cables from an image using Russel Brown's video making use of the pen tool/path and the spot healing brush with content aware. I'm pretty sure I followed his tutorial exactly but it did not work satisfactorily. Are there any other tweaks I should be using to remove these cables and replace them with the background details?
View 17 Replies View Relatedcontent aware box has gone from the healing tool option bar, so has proximity match & create texture. I have tried resetting tool, which didn't work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to CS6 64 bit under Windows 7. I used content aware fill and the spot healing tool on CS5 under XP with no problems. Now under CS6 they leave a smudge. For example, if the is a spot on a vein of a leaf, now, instead of removing the spot and filling in the line of the vein I just get a smudge the size of the spot healing brush.
Content aware fill now leaves a smudged and obviously poor result.
I'm doing a lot of work cleaning old files up, and trying to stay in Content-Aware mode of spot healing brush. Switching back and forth from Lightroom, I usually find the radio button has switched back to "Create Texture" mode, which I do not want. I leave it in Content-Aware, but it switches on its own. Can't find any way to set it to stay where I put it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI often need to remove larger objects like this AC grille sitting on a plain coloured wall:
The brightness of the wall varies over the affected area. There are subtle gradients in both horizontal and vertical direction, so a flat colour fill doesn't work. Content-aware fill produces an unusable patchwork of bits randomly picked up from the surroundings.
So most of the time I've ended up by filling the areas with a flat colour and then using the patch tool repeatedly on smaller overlapping areas to smoothen things.
I'd want an automated way to create a non-linear gradient to match the areas adjacent to the selection.
Want to remove an item but cannot find Content Aware with SDetail Smart Brush.

View 1 Replies View RelatedCant find Content Aware Fill option in Photoshop12 which I am using for first time.
I click on EDIT then FILL.
However in the Contents drop down menu there is no option for Content Aware. Have tried Google with no joy.
I clicked the box to always fill in with contend aware after a photomerge panarama and now I see that I would rather have that on a case by case basis. How do reset that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have used content aware with some success but today I was using it to remove power lines in front of a building with a deep blue cloudless sky in the background. When I used content aware it lightened the sky to a pale blue, no where near the original color. I sampled the existing sky with the eye dropper but no change. I have used content aware probably 25 times and have never encountered this problem.

It states it was on beta version of Photoshop CS6 but no one have a video of it. Or maybe it was for future release like CS6.1 or CS7. I hope Adobe can add this useful feature on final version of CS6.

this function seems to have simply stopped working. I tried it on two images and the wheel spins while it "works," but absolutely nothing happens.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have tried unsuccessfully to get Content Aware Fill in CS5 to work as advertised in the dozens of tutorials I have watched.CAF seems to drag in stuff from all over (even if I protect it in a mask) the background.
View 20 Replies View RelatedSeems that the latest update of Photoshop CS6 broke content aware, which now produces a black result.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used content aware on a bag on the foreground of a picture. Worked ok, but left an outline. I got rid of that ok with healing and clone.
But some wires in sky, it's leaving an outline that is no better than the wires themselves.
My content aware feature stopped working. It worked for about 6 months and then stopped functioning correctly. I tried deleting and reloading the software, and this also did not work. I select an area to fill and choose content aware and it will only fill it partially.
I am unable to post a capture of what this looks like. Basically, when I try to utilize content fill..the result is a semi filled section. It looks as if it glazes over the selection..leaving it visible but partially filled. This happens regardless of the selection size, area of the photo etc.
My knowledge (lack of, really) with content aware scaling is that 1st you create a new layer of the background and then rescale accordingly. I did the following: -
1- Created a 2nd layer
2- used quick selection tool on my main subject ( a person) and named it.
3- deselected the selection
4- Edit menu --> Content aware scale
5- resized it to something smaller (chose my previous named selection channel).
6- Pressed "Enter"
The result is that I can now see 2 images; the smaller sitting on the larger. What now? All I want is the smaller image. If I throw away the original layer what I end up is the new layer with the white and gray default background showing as part of the image (which ends up being printed as well or if saved looking as is with the grey-white. Is what I should do the obvious--cut out via cropping the un-needed (gray-white) part?
