Illustrator :: Missing Image Size And Position Data
Aug 14, 2013In AI CS5 the size and position of an image were displayed in the top toolbar when you selected the image. This is missing in AI CS6, how can I get it back?

View 2 RepliesI'm not sure if I've missed a setting or gradients are behaving differently in AI CC.
After filling a shape with a gradient fill and then modifying it's angle/position/size with the Gradient Tool (G)... then going to create a new shape, I want to reset the gradient back to the default angle/position/size. Usually I'd just click/double-click on the gradient I was using in the Swatches panel and it would reset. However this isn't working anymore.
I was wondering if I've missed a setting to make this possible
I have a question, quite a tricky one. Is there any way how can I copy and paste position and size of two objects?
Let's say I have a circle 2 x 2 cm and it's position is y 5cm x 5cm, I have a square of size 3 x 7 cm and it's position is y 0cm x 0cm.
How do I copy and paste in a single command/step the circles position and size to square, so I can get square of 2 x 2 cm and it's position 5cm x 5cm?
Something like copy + paste in place with a different logics. I hope You understand what I want.
I'm doing it now manually, I'm copying size and position of one object to another [ctrl + c > ctrl + v] but it takes quiet a while,

Many of my catalog images (LR 3.6) do not show file size or pixel information for the associated image file. I suspect this is a hangover from an import of photos from Photoshop Elements which I used in the past. The problem is that when I put such an image in a slideshow or web gallery, the exported image is not properly displayed.
To get around this, I can export the image files to a hard drive directory in original format, and then re-import them into my web gallery collection. The correct file size info is then available in the catalog, and the image reproduces correctly in the exported gallery.
I know (or at least hope) this is a kludge, and there is a more straightforward method to correct the catalog. I have many photos with incomplete image information.
I have a 900 x 500 px image in Adobe Illustrator, which overlaps a bit the canvas on the left side.
When I open this file with Corel, it adjusts my graphics so that it's centered on the screen. The AI file is centered on another point. Also, the canvas Corel creates is A4 sized. I always have to resize the canvas and then manually adjust the position of my graphics.
Question: How can I save an AI file so that when I open it at Corel, the position and size of the canvas will be exactly the same?
i have created a data band in profile view that should show a created profiles elevation, but some of the the data fields are missing irregulary. Also in the data band that shoud show the diferenece betven the tow profiles - EG and the new profile the data is missing. The EG profiles data and the surface are ok all is shown.

1. "Home tab>>Data panel>>>insert An Image" - The data panel is missing and it's also not found in "customize palettes"
2. Trying the data connect route does not work either: Display manager>>>Data>>>Connect To Data - There is no 'Data' option and I cannot connect to Data.
i recently upgraded from 2006 to 2008, and am having a strange problem. when i open anything such as the xref manager or quick select window, i resize the window and the next time i open it, back to the default size and position.
View 9 Replies View Relatedsometimes i open an Illustrator file with a missing image link. I have many image folders depending on the job and it would be great to be able to copy and paste the photo very long text to search for it in my HD.
This is an example [URL]
I am not able to select this very long text and copy / paste action. How do you manage to do it?
I am working on parsing the psd file and saving the data as per doc of photoshop 6. I need to make an image from the layer data alone with different combinations of layers selected, visible etc... and not using the merged data section in the file.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Illustrator CS6 on a PC. I try to save my graphic in Save for Web and want to alter the image size, but it won't change, it just goes back to the original size. If I change the percentage box, the values change. I have tried linking and unlinking the proportions and nothing. What am I missing?? I don't have time to guess the percentage to get to the exact width I need.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to enlarge the text from an exported cad drawing from Dialux (lighting calculation software)...it has exported a field of values over a large area but the text is really small and illegible when its plotted as an A1 pdf
Is there anyway to blow all the text values up at once without moving them from their positions with relation to the boundaries of the roads and buildings? Here is a screenshot of the view with CAD...this is a small area of the entire scheme and those little black smudges are the numbers i need to scale
CAD Screenshot.jpg
I guess in a 3D program this would be equivalent to having the pivot point located in the centre of each set of numbers so you could scale them using the centre of each number as its scale point but I am stumped by how to do this in Autocad Architecture 2011..
I want to cut the right half of one image and paste it in exactly the same position on a second image.
I've found that by cropping I can get a very precise cut but I want to know if there is a way to paste it or move it once pasted to exactly the right half of the image I am pasting it into.
I have created vector art in Illustrator 5.5 that is exported as a PNG file at 96 dpi. When we open the PNG file in Photoshop, the image size is larger in Photoshop than it is in Illustrator. Width was 232.8 px on Illustrator document and 233 on Photoshop document. Height was 181.4 px on Illustrator document and 183 on the Photoshop document. If I export as a 72 dpi PNG file then the size does not change. How can I export the image at 96 dpi without changing the size of the image?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a fairly novice user of Illustrator. I have my company logo in an .AI and .PNG format. I need to "shrink" the image while perserving the image quality. I am trying to design an ad for my business and the file is too big for the dimensions of the ad in photoshop. When i attempt to reduce the file size (Edit--> Free Transform) I am able to "shrink" the logo down to fit (about 70% reduction), but it turns out very blurry and not sharp. The sharpen filter does not seem to work.
I have been told I need to take the .AI file, and shink the logo there, then converting to a PNG to be placed into the ad. I **think** I did this, but the image still turns out blurry.
Working in CS5.I have a vector image that I need to resize and save as a .png. I first create an artboard to the correct size I need (55x20 pixels), shrink my vector image to fit and then export to .png using the artboard as my boundaries (so that I get the correct size).Problem is, the resulting file is not 55x20, it is 229x83 (when I open in Photoshop). I can't figure out why the file is not saving to the correct size.
I have also tried opening the file in photoshop and resizing down, but that doesn't work either. My image becomes very distorted.I don't generally work in pixels or pngs...what would be the best program and process to do this. It doesn't seem like it should be so difficult, but for some reason it is!
I have a 900x900 px image, and a 900x900 px artboard.
When I place the image on the artboard, the image is 675.094x675.094 px
How can I place the image at its native size?
Windows 7 | CS5
I am unable to change the size of an image or text box. It allows me to click on the image or text box but does not allow me to change the size of it with the mouse. I can change it by right clicking on scale and entering in details but I am not able to change it manually.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy question is, isn’t Illustrator supposed to use and save just one instance of an embedded image regardless of how many times it i used in an document?
A senario: If I import and embed an image and I save the document I get a pretty small files size. But when I copy this image internally in the document, say that I copy the image 10 times, I get ten times the file size. Is it supposed to do that? Why doesn't it just save the image one time?
We have created a number of project parameters (all ifc parameters)
Site Name
Building
Floor
Space Number
Space Type
And Mark Test, Yes another test, As identity data.
We can schedule out all the information with no issues, however when we export to ifc we can only find the “Test” information. Are we missing a setting in the export or have we create the project parameter up incorrectly.
Just installed LR5. After importing RAWs from my 6D with attached GPS data I have to realize that they are missing in LR. The import is straigth and standard without any exclusions. Geo setter and other viewers prove that GPS data are transferred with the pictures but in LR EXIFS are quite "naked". No private zone ist marked in the chart module which might play a role in export functions only..OS is Win7 64, all up to date.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've created an image file in Illustrator and exported it as a .png file. The dimensions are 1000x200 but when I export it the file size changes and becomes bigger. I therefore have to change the file size in Fireworks making sure that the quality is kept as Photoshop does not do it for me. Previously when I exported the files the backgrounds appeared transparent after saving but maybe I've changed a setting by accident that has changed this. I'm selecting the 'Save as' and Flattened png option at 32bit in FW.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an image received from a client in .eps format. I need to get it into either a .gif or .jpg format AND the final file MUST be .8 inches x .3 inces, AND no more than 10K in size. How can I save it with these dimensions/constraints and not lose resolution? What I have tried - export to .jpg (file is 5 inches x 3 inches), export and change resolution to 100ppi (image is nearly the right dimensions, but blurry). The tools I have are AI and PS both version CS5
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with the embedded camera data that is stored with a photograph. I'm not sure but every once in a while PS deletes the data from a photograph when I edit the photograph.
This is not happening every time. Some photographs I edit all the data is still there after I edit. Others I edit have been changed. All the camera data is missing and the original creation date, the date the photograph was taken is changed to the date I edited the photograph.
The creation date and time is important to me to keep photographs from different cameras in the correct sequence of real time. Is this normal for PS or am I causing it?
Since upgrading to Autocad LT 2012 I have had difficultly printing from autocad to my plotter. Drawings plot with information missing - in model space and paper space. The lines/polylines are not on hidden layers and all show fine in the plot preview. The parts which are missing/do not print are not consistent either - parts of polylines/objects which makes me think it isnt to do with my line type either.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new Dell XPS computer running Windows Vista that included Photoshop Elements 6.0. My pictures were on my old computer in Adobe Photoshop starter album edition 3.2. I tried directly moving files using windows explorer (Think hard drive not internet) to external hard drive then importing to new 6.0 version but pictures would require "reconnecting" upon disconnecting from external drive and never would reconnect after disconnecting. I then tried the "Burn to CD" option in starter edition 3.2. This way transferred data successfully without requiring "reconnecting" but did not transfer catalog data.In addition, there is no "move" option in 3.2 and the 6.0 version will not load on my old computer for some reason. How do I go about transferring both the picture data (~3gig) along with the catalog data (tags & key words)?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAE crashed during the rendering process, a window came out and asked if I would save the file, I did but unfortunately I did not turn it into a new project. After all, AE shutted down.
Then there I was trying to open my project which was saved, although it turns out to be an error which said "missing data in file"
I tried to google it and I looked into like 20 forum pages, I tried putting the project on a new disk and importing instead of opening and stuff.Well I at least learned I should backup the project next time.
But still wondering if there's a way to save my project?
Btw, what does it mean by pressing capslock when importing the project?
I have a designer that created this beautiful (but complicated) design in illustrator and now we're trying to get it exported to html. The thing is, most of the images that are in tds we want to be background images so that we can put stuff on top of it. So we need the exported html to generate the image size correctly. For example, I don't want
<img src="someimage.jpg" width="100" height="100"...
but
<img src="someimage.jpg">
The problem is that illustrator for whatever reason is generating the images slightly too small (I guess to make the image size smaller?), then is stretching them using width and height attributes. As I'm sure you guys are aware of, the background attribute has no way of specifying a width and height.
