Illustrator :: Error Message - Insufficient Memory Was Available
Mar 17, 2011
I use Illustrator CS 5 and am working with a large image. Problem is, when I sometimes try to save my Illustrator file as a joeg I get the dreaded "Insufficient memory was available to complete the operation" error message. It doesn't happen every time BUT when it does its a pain because I have to close all my programs and restart my computer.
I got “Insufficient Memory” error messages in working on the job needed large files ( > 100MB) with AI 5.5 in office with below #1 PC spec. Error message starts to happen after working 15min to 1 hour depends on the file. I need to restart computer in each “Insufficient Memory” error message pop-up (otherwise the messages will continue to pop-up). Sometimes the file can’t be saved after the error message occurred.
I have never encountered this memory issue at my home with below #2 Mac spec.#1 PC spec looks better than #2 Mac spec. Why PC can’t perform like Mac does? Do you have any solution to fix the “insufficient Memory” issue in #1 PC spec? I had already reset the AI preference as the following link but it doesn’t work. URL...
I am having a problem opening some larger revit models (100MB plus) in revit 2012 I will receive a message saying:
Insufficient memory for load. This computer does not have enough memory to open 'file name' in autodesk revit architecture 2012. Increase the available memory or contact Autodesk support for more information.
We are working on Windows XP SP3 with 3.23gb RAM. Now normally it would be as simple as upgrading the RAM on this machine to 4GB as specified in the system requirements for 2012, but a previous computer I was testing with only 2GB RAM was able to open these files without any issues (despite being a little slower).
The only difference I can see at this stage is the 3GB switch is enables in the 2gb machine.
My project in AI CS4 (WinXP) is not able to place (import) a 600dpi image (size is 35mb). The error message says "Insufficient Memory was Available to Complete the Operation". The same image at 300 dpi worked where the 600 did not work. There is 3gb of RAM on my machine. I am wondering if there is a problem with AI here, and if there is a way to allocate more memory to the program. I don't mind using the 300-resolution image, but would like to learn something about Illustrator from this issue. Is there a way to fix the problem or to adjust the memory usage in Illustrator CS4?
Why I am getting a "insufficient memory" error 15036:0:0 when trying to select certain filters such as "Auto-Exposure" and "Brightness & Contrast"? Other filters can be selected without getting this error.
I have problem with Civil3d 2010, when i open heavy drawing or 1 or more drawing will struck out of system memmory cannot continu the drawing , how can i fix, i already install update package 1 & 2 my system config.,and error shown on attached file. a
while working suddenly everything disappears from the monitor freezing and the file can not' be saved or recovered. The message that appears is insufficient memory. It 'a problem that often appears when I use the text or any changes to the text.
Coreldraw is a 32 Bit Windows xp professional and my pc has 3 GB RAM Intel Core Duo CPU E7400 I can't resolve this problem until now.
Giving me 'insufficient memory was available to complete the operation' when trying to place and image (jpg ~23mb) inside a .ai file which is just a few KB large.
Could not complete this operation. There is not enough scratch memory available.when trying to save for web. The content has a lot of linked images, around 1000x1000 px each, used with clipping masks, drop shadows and glows at 300dpi.I realize that this might be hard to flatten for JPEG and I'd be fine with long processing times (which I get) but out of memory?.
Those are all gigabytes, not megabytes, no mistake. There's NO WAY that there's not enough scratch memory available. And this is how the process looks; Physical memory usage at this point is 62%, Commit charge - 15%.
Currently, I can work around this by making a screenshot of "Original" tab in Save for Web dialogue when it's there - because sometimes it's just a pink-filled window.
I'm experiencing difficulties in exporting website from .AI to .PSD using Illustrator CS5.1 under Windows7 Home Premium 64bit. The error message says "Not enough memory to save the file".
I can assure you that i've got enough memory for scratch disks and my computer is powerful enough to handle this operation. The funny thing is that i am able to export the very same .Ai file using Illustrator CS5.1 under Windows XP 32bit on different PC.
I've tried to find a solution online, but it gave no satisfying results so far. So, i think the problem comes from the operating system, but i don't know how to fix it...
I do have problem with my newly installed CorelDraw X5. Before X5 we used Corel 12 in our company.
I have project file (150 MB) with lots of text, bitmaps, vectors - about 100 pages. File opens but I can't save it. I always get OUT OF MEMORY error. I even tried to divide this file into 2 smaller parts but still doesn't work.
What I noticed - Corel X5 after clean start (without opened project) takes about 80MB of RAM in task manager. When I open project usage changes from 80MB to 1,2GB. While saving it takes 1,6GB of RAM and it crashes.
To compare - Corel 12 and after opening same project file Corel 12 takes much less of memory - about 770MB and it works without problem.
I've got a closed traverse that has all the elements, but when I try and analyze it, I get the dreaded error: Insufficient angles, distances or points to calculate this loop. Creating a Traverse for Adjustment: [URL]l and my screen capture looks very similar to his, but I'm not getting any results.
I just downloaded Illustrator CC few days I go and everythime I try to open it I'm getting an error message: "Adobe Illustrator had detected some problems associated with the registration that have to be solved in order for Illustrator to work correctly. To solve it click with the roght botton of you mouse on Illustrator.exe and select adminitrator...
I don't know how to do it. Where is located Illustrator.exe in my computer?
I have an ai file that I can not save with out getting the File I/O error message. One person suggested that this file may be corrupted since I've been bouncing back and forth between 2 different Illustrator programs. I use CS-4 at work, save as CS-3 format then continue working on it at home. I tried copying each layer to a new fresh doc. but still get the error code. Is there a way to fix this file? Both back-up files I have behave the same way.
When I double click an AI file to open it, I get this message: "Can't open the illustration. There is not enough room for the window, increase document area and try again". This error started happening about a week or two ago. Although it is inconvenient to have to go to File>Open and then locate the file to open it since I am used to doing it the other way at least it is a way to open the AI file. I just discoved that if I double click a graphic in a Adobe Acrobat Pro using the Edit Object I get the same error message. This is a problem.I have checked previous discussions about this and tried things like unchecking the "open as tab" option in the preferences but that does not work.
Strangely, every time I click "save" in CS6 it opens up a 'Save As' window, (which shouldn't happen), then I click save witht the existing file name (it then tells me the doc already exists), I click OK, (and then OK to the next popup window) then get the message that "This file cannot be found". I'm forced to click "ok" and the doument isn't saved. I've tried saving it differently in previous versions and it still doesn't work. I recorded a video of this behavior. You can see it here - [URL]
Why would it be trying to find a file? It seems like an error message when trying to Open a doc, not Save a doc. I can't shutdown my station until I get the document to save.
I receive that message when I try to open a new document. My others such as Photoshop and In Design are fine as far as I can tell. I'm using CS4 on Windows 7.
I was placing final touches on paper space viewports (changing transparency settings etc), after wrapping that up, saved. Then tried to Publish. That's where things went downhill, drawing/publishing froze, forced to restart, now the drawing only loads to ~68 - 75% and hangs / freezes. Eventually, I get a message box stating that AutoCAD physical memory low, continuing will result in data loss. Task Manager claims AutoCAD is running @ ~98% (650Mb).
I can upload the drawing to AutoCAD WS and open it on my iPhone/iPad, but the 3D viewports are limited in detail.
Tried opening on a MAC and the same thing happens. Tried clearing the Cachemax/cachemaxtotal, still nothing...
I want to create text on a circle path, so drew the circle, went to the "type on a path tool" and clicked on the circle. I keep getting the message "can't create type". I have tried to use the direct selection tool to select the circle first and without the direct selection.

Just installed CS6 about a month ago and at different points of taxing the program and my system and on various tools or events in Photoshop, I get an error that tells me there is not enough ram to complete the task.
I'm using CS6 Extended 64-bit and my comp specs are:
Windows 7 Pro 16 gigs of DDR3 memory Intel i-7 second gen chip ATI Radeon 5500 with 2 gigs onboard memory
And all of my stuff is up to date - including PS. I've allocated 75% of the system memory to PS in the preferences.
