View 3 RepliesI want to use the paint brush for editing a photo I have, but the only color available is black. No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?
I've done it before in earlier versions and I assume it's in the same place but where is the option to rotate a brush in CS6, I have to many layers to deal with transform after applying I know it's here somewhere?

Is it possible to create a brush in paint.net such that we can directly draw something like that?
Remember, the direction in which the pattern is drawn should always instantly change in synergy with the direction in which the brush tool is drawn.
When using the brush tool what is the difference between using the brush in color mode on a normal layer vs using the brush in normal mode on a color mode layer?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using Paint.net since few years, and now I'm trying to coloring a brush with a precise color. I would like the brush to be in a blue color 3914AF (for example). I tried to use different fusion mode like "screen" on a third layer that I colored with this color...but it also let the color out of the brush itself. I thought of using the magic wandle before but to have a correct result...
HOW to change the color of any PNG brush directly in the picture in Paint.net.

i want to keep all the setting : transparency , color , stroke width to be remembered in layer . Therefore, i dont need to change again or remember whenever i draw in between layers.
I'd like to scatter a small image randomly, like you can with scatter & size jitter. I can't think of any way to do that on this image other than make a brush out of it, but creating a brush from the image will change its color uniformly. I'd like to keep the color and opacity of the image the same, but have it scattered. I
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am looking to create a simple simulation of a character that walks at a constant velocity. The catch is that I want this character to always walk away from their shadow. I am using MR Sun so the idea is to have the character always looking at and walking towards the sun no matter the time of day. The animation takes place only during the day so I'm not concerned about any problems that would occur at night.
For the initial test it may be simpler if I remove the character and just use a "stand in" object to work out the kinks. I'm not worried about trying to use footsteps because that sounds messy. Once I have the solution I can hopefully just drop in a biped with a looping .bip
I've a problem with changing the color of a brush in Illustrator. I've download a brush package for Illustrator, and found a nice brush for a logo.
All the brushes are in black, and when I want to change the brush color into a other color, the whole area of the brush will be a other color.
How can I change the color of the brush?
I am trying to create a seamless pattern brush in CS6 .When I use the no fill/no stroke bounding box placed behind the object to define the repeat, instead of cropping the object for the brush, it overlaps it. Here is an example:
When I do this in CS5- the bounding box works fine and crops out the space outside. Was there an update in CS6?
I am new to Illustrator and am taking an Illustrator class. One of the excercises we are supposed to do is just tracing over a greyed-out image that is made up of one long brush stroke. the idea is to start at one end of this long stroke and follow all the curves, not letting up on the mouse button till the end. As the title states, we are using the paintbrush for this.
the brush quits putting out any color, even though I DO NOT let up on the mouse button! have tried and tried with the same result. So picture this...if you stretched this stroke out in a strait line, it might be 20 inches long, but i can only trace 10 inches of it before the paintbrush quits.
I have googled this to no avail. I am on a pc, but it is not just on one machine, as I have tried this on one Windows 8 desktop, a Windows 8 laptop, and a Windows 7 laptop, all using different mice as well. Both laptops have I7 chips with 4gigs of ram, and the desktop has a core 2 quad chip with 8 gigs of ram, so I dont think thats a problem. Just seems weird that its happening on all three machines.
Also, its not the file that Im tracing around either, because I can get the same result if I just open a new document and just start painting a long stroke before too long it quitsThis is happening in Illustrator CC. Class doesnt meet again for a week, so just thought I would ask here.
Somehow I've turned off the color selection so that I don't have a color when I select a part of a drawing on a layer. The drawing area stays black whether I have selected it or not and I don't know how to turn back on the color.
how I can turn on the color again so that when I select a line it changes from black to red or magenta or whatever?
How can I change the color of this image brush? I'm unable to change the Colorization options as I've seen done for other brushes in tutorials.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhy Paint.NET doesn't create text Layer? (Like Photoshop)
In Paint.NET we can't edit texts.
Please build text layers feature in version 4.
I've downloaded and briefly messed around with Paint.Net, and while you can work with layers, I haven't found a way to use layer masks. I used to exclusively use GIMP, but then I found out about Adobe Lightroom, so I bought that and have been extremely happy with it. However, I can't do any pixel editing to get rid of any phone lines, or people's heads, or any other item that is goofing up my photo. I didn't want to go back to GIMP (it's not the easiest program to use), but then I found out about Paint.Net and that it uses layers.
I assumed that it would also have the option to use layer masks, as a natural extension or feature of having layers. But again I can't figure out, or have found online, a way to create layer masks.
When I create a shape with a Pantone Color and then decrease the opacity in the color swatch palette, then go to my swatches palette and select "Select All Unused Colors" it highlights the pantone color being used in the file. In previous version, it never did this. This is for CS6. Any know fix for this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can see the opacity controls for Layer Properties, but I can't seem to set the color of the layer itself. How do you do this?
As always, what I'm trying to do is create an overlay "mask" to cover up part of a GUI screenshot. I've learned the hard way that you can't simply draw a box and then move/adjust its properties, so I'm going with a layer as instructed.
Want to remove the dark grey boundary layer as seen in the attachment, in order to overlay my own boundary (which uses a different coordinate system so is more stretched) What tool do I use to do this? Do i remove that specific color from the picture completely? Do i somehow blend it into the background map?
Also, the new map layer is a series of 300 bright red points in a similar shape on a white background....how do i overlay only the red points?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe problem I have is I cannot change the brush to pure black; it's only dark gray and normal methods of changing the color aren't working.I went to Brushes, selected one of the Artistic_Ink brushes. (And drew a design)
I tried double clicking on it in the Brushes palette and in the "Art Brush Options" the colorization was already set to Tints. I tried all the other options but the color of the artistic brush is still dark gray; not black.
What else can I do to change the brush to pure black?
I have Illustrator CS4. I have created an object with the Blob Brush and filled with gradient color. When I try to add the object it will not be gradient, only a new object with a solid color. Does this not work in CS4?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen drawing 'strokes' in CS6 with brush, the `Fill` color will keep reverting back to 'None' no matter what I previously set it to. I'd like both fill and stroke color to retain their values as I previously set it, but it appears that fill color will retain value only if I draw shapes that do have a fill. It seems as though illustrator responds to the fact that I am drawing strokes only by redefining the fill value to be 'none'.
View 25 Replies View RelatedI am switchin over from photoshop and would like to do the following
1) Select a color: I have a logo with a green and red text and would like to select only the green text. The logo is a flat file so I do not have access to the text-layers. (In Photoshop I would now use the "select color range" tool)
2) Keep the selection of the color active (as a selection)
3) Create a new overlay-layer and fill the selection with a blue color.
How would you do this in Xara Designer?
Reducing the Roundness of a calligraphic brush to 0% seems to create 'flat' ends to a stroke, but, on closer inspection, the ends are not perfectly flat/straight.
The line seems to start and end with a slight 'S' curve; it's less visible when the stroke has a different bearing, but I need it to be gone - is this possible? I'm trying to create a calligraphic brush with perfectly flat ends.
An image of a tree with fine branches in winter against a sky I want to darken. My goal is to create a duplicate layer of the image to darken but where the tree is transparent so I can put the darkened layer on top of the orignal image with an undarkened tree. Before my computer crashed, I used a plugin for this called, I thought, Alpha Mask. In this example, by selecting a spot on the tree I could make either everything the color of the tree or everything not disappear into transparency. But I can't seem to find the plugin now. I did look at the index of plugins and found some listings under Alpha, but none are described as the tool I need here (best I can tell).
