Currently running on MAC OS Mountain Lion. Illustrator CS6, Creative Cloud Download - Up-to-date
Tested using a small file size and art board, and both save for devices and exporting just gives a loading wheel with no results (let it go for 2 hours before restarting). We have tried reinstalling program with no change in results. The process works fine with the same creative cloud account on a Mac running Lion.
When Saving for Web and Devices in Illustrator CS5 (15.0.2), the application now freezes and has to be force quit.
HOWEVER if I delete the Users/~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings/en_GB folder all works well until I quit the application, then the freeze will happen again. I created a new user and all was fine for that user so I transferred everything across... a laborious task.
what has triggered this AGAIN?...
Running:
Mac OS X 10.6.6
Mac Pro tower.
Note:
have uninstalled, reinstalled, updated 15.0.1 - 15.0.2
have deleted all font caches
have deleted everything... that could be related...
HOWEVER have narrowed it down to the 'Adobe Illustrator Prefs' file in the Users/~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings/en_GB folder too note this is not the folder permissions issue, am aware of that and have thoroughly checked all permissions, ran disk utility and disk warrior.
I was just working on a Photoshop document and I wanted to view in actual size and thought I'd use a shortcut. I tried the F7, but that had no effect. Then I tried (or thought I tried) a shortcut that works with other Adobe products. But what I pressed was, I think, Command+1, which turned my document into what appeared to be black and white but what I think was just the red channel. "Undo" and "Step Backword" did nothing. I don't work with channels and it took me a while to figure out how to see all my colors again. One of the things I tried was to change the mode from 8 bit to 32 bit. Now my doc is ready but I can't save it for Web and Devices. I tried going back and changing it back to 8 bit color, but it says if I do that it will merge all my layers and I don't want to do that. Any ideas? It's so annoying. All I did was accidentally press the wrong shortcut and now it seems like I am going to have to start the whole project from scratch.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have sliced all my pieces in PS. I then went to Save for Web and Devices. For some reason my slice tool cannot be grabbed (I click on it and it doesn't turn to slicer). Also, the color table is all gray. No colors. I am going nuts! I have tried everything to make them appear.
I am taking a DW class (didnt know I had to have extensive knowledge in PS first, so now learning both programs for school), and my project was due last night. I need to hand it in Thur night but I can't do the things I need to in order to get it ready for DW.
I have done this before many times without a hitch.
I am using a psd format that I designed. It is no more complex than others I have done. It is small, just a horizontal navbar about the size of the one on Apple's website.
I tried exporting it, flattening it, slicing it removing the slices.
I think it is a problem with the application itself.
I have tried repairing my permissions, restarting, and holding Cmd, Opt, Control, Shift during PS startup to reset the settings.
I was turning a mov. file into a gif. When I was finished I went to save for web & devices and after it finished loading... the gif couldn't be seen but a coral pink box took the space. Then I get a message stateing that Adobe CS5.1 is not responding... Then it closes down the program. I'm able to make other gifs. Even ones with more frames.They all turn out to be fine. It's just this certain one I try to make that always ends up closeing down the program. The file size is 248MB and the gif I'm trying to make only needs 91 frames. I even used the same mov. file and made a different gif from it and it worked perfectly! I've tried reinstalling but that didn't fix anything.

I thought resetting itwould help, but it keeps happening, then somebody told me it was the size of the picture, but that can't be it, because I couldn't save a picture 5"x5", and that isn't too big. View 6 Replies View RelatedIve created a mini animation where by the eyes change colour.I click on save for web & devices and it takes a while to come up.When it does the image is pink until i move it around.Then when i got to save it either crashes or goes to the save screen where i can click save but most of the time the save button does not work.When it does work i get a blank black box that does not render and then the program stops responding.What should i do?

only one problem.... in Photoshop the "Save for web and devices..." function is grayed out and unavailable. :-(
This is a feature I use quite a lot. Before I try uninstalling and re-installing, which, as you probably know is a lengthy process with these Adobe products, I'd like to first verify if this is a known problem and/or something I can deal with without re-installing Photoshop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIssue is this: Photoshop's 'Save for Web & Devices' indicated file size does not appear to match size of actual exported file. I made a couple dozen animated gif banner ads that are required to be under 40k. I'm using PShop CS5 v 12.0.4 x64. I'm on an iMac osx 10.6.8
Save for Web & Devices says a file will be 39.97k
I click Preview to see the animation and get details. It agrees, preview file is 39.97k
So I save, and look at exported file in Finder (Get Info) And it is 57k
I understand that this is portion of the hard drive used for storage and bigger than 39.97k because of smallest chunk size that can be allocated by Finder. But isn't second number (53,337 bytes) actual file size?
So, question:
1) Is the file size still actually just 39.97k and if so is there a way to see this to prove to myself and the client?
2) If saved file is truly larger than export size indicated by photoshop, is there a straightforward way to accurately predict size at which file will be saved? Or is trial-and-error my best bet.
since a month, when i try to save a job in adobe illustrator cs 5, it appears "unknowned error" (italian version) and i can't save my job! i tried to save as pdf, as ai, to export as a jpg, nothing is possible!
i uninstalled all the software and i instaleld again: sometime it goes well, but evryday i have this problem
When saving for web or exporting an artboard is there any way to pre-populate the save file name dialog box with the artboard's given name. It would save having to re-name the file and make good use of that metadata.

The 'Use Artboards' feature is on the Save As... dialog but it's disabled. It looks like there was an extension (Illustrator HTML5 Pack for CS5) available at one time but its appears to have been removed from Adobe's site.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm am SO DEVASTATED that CS6 got rid of the option to save as CSS layers in Save for Web. I just updated from 5 to 6 and now I'm looking for an alternative but am having no luck. I've tried some scripts I've found online but none of them work the way I need, or at all.
I do animation in AI where each layer is a frame on the animation. In CS5 I could Save for Web and check the Export as CSS Layers box. This would export all the layers in my AI file to pngs, where each layer is it's own png file, in one folder. I could then import them as an image sequence in Photoshop and turn layers on and off with each frame to create my animation.
I tried exporting my AI file to a PSD file with maximum editability but the more complicated the animation (meaning the more layers and the more objects on each layer) it would start flattening layers without warning. Not to mention the rendering time just opening the file in Photoshop and then trying to save it there once I had created all my frames. Photoshop froze on me 6 times this morning while I was trying things out.
I'm desperate for a simple way to do the CSS layer trick. If I can't find one, I'm going to have to go back to CS5 permanently, or until I can find a solution.
I am using Illustrator CS6 on OS X 10.8.4. Anything that rasterizes the artwork causes Illustrator to hang. Export (PNG), Save for Web, Filters like Drop Shadow or Gaussian Blur (even when just checking the preview box).
I've read through some discussions that suggested:
– Uninstalling the entire CS6 suite and re-intalling it
– Going into Disk Utitlity and 'Repair Permissions'
– Creating a new user account on my Macbook, deleted the old user account and re-installed the CS6 suite
But none of the above suggestions worked. As soon as I create a new user account Illustrator began to crash again upon export the next of couple days.
I've created an image that has some bleeds and needs to be saved as a JPEG for web display. If I just export it (or save for web and devices), the off-artboard stuff shows up in the saved image (which, of course, is bigger than the artboard). I've created a mask layer that masks the visibility of the excess artwork within AI and the saved file, but the off-artboard area occupied by the masked artwork is still there in the saved image. How can I non-destructively hide this stuff during saves, saving just the artboard?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIllustrator incorrectly crops artwork too small by a few pixel when using Save for Web or Export. If you fit an artboard to your artwork, either manually using smart guides or by using the "Fit to Selected" command, it will look correct in the work area but when you go to Save for Web it will be noticeably truncated on the right and bottom sides. If all the artwork is supposed to be within the artboard then toggling "Clip to Artboard" will actually change the size of the exported image by 1 or 2 pixels when it shouldn't change at all.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from Photoshop Elements 9 to Lightroom 5, When I moved the catalogue over, all keywords transferred, and Albums became collections. When I used Photshop Elements, I could easily sync the Albums with my Apple Tvs to display the pictures, as well as my other Apple Devices. I can not figure out how to export the collections to the Apple devices, especially the Apple TVs. There must be a way given the power of this software.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I record a save for web action that exports my artboard in 3 file sizes. 100%, 200% and 400% it works for the first few files.
Then suddenly after a while the first export changes its width and height from 100% to 111%, but not just 111% width and height equally. No it pulls it out of proportion too.
When I manually enter 100% again it all pops back to the correct aspect ration.The 200% and 400% still behave as expected.
If I rerecord it it starts working again. But that defeats the purpose.
I have a problem with CorelDraw X4, some tools like save, save as, copy, cut, export doesn't work.

It just does nothing, when I choose to save a file under "something.cpt". It works, as long as it is a JPG, but not as a CPT. I am working on a Win7, with CorelX5 in german. Support told me to reinstall.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI only recently upgraded to 2.8 from 2.6 and was wondering if I am the onlyone missing the option to edit the file extension in the SAVE formwhich basically allowed you to Save, Save Copy, Save As or Export to anyformat from the same form?
I also found it strange that if I now open a JPG file (or drag into GIMP),I can't save changes (to the JPG) directly (it wants to save to native Gimpformat), so I again first have to go to Export instead!
I am wondering why this was incorporated, and if it's going to stay, is there a setting I can set to work like I am used to (and find much fasterand more flexible)?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using the save for web function to save a large number of files (not batch saving)usually, when I open a file and start saving for web, it will remember the folder that I most recently exported to, and by default open that folder for that file, until I "save for web" into a different folder.
Out of seemingly nowhere, the save for web seemed to "forget" this folder (and any other folder I tried to save to), and now defaults to the "Documents" folder, causing me have to click through to find my intended destination folder. I'm on CS5 & Mac running Mountain Lion. On my work computer (exactly the same, Mac + Mountain Lion) I am using CS6 and have not encountered this issue.
