Nov 27, 2012AI6 is very slow on some saves. Nothing fancy with this file. No gradients, no clipping masks, no placed images, simply color line art. I run a Mac Pro with 16Gb ram and Tb raid drives . I've had this problem with a few other files and I think in CS5.

Aug 5, 2008After a while of having CS3 opened and working w/ multiple files, I start to lose the shortcut functions such as transform, then I might not be able to deselect anymore and finally when I try to save the document, the words I type to id the file come out all garbled, ie. hotdog1 will appear as ghe.se3l.
there is no rhyme or reason.
This is getting more frequent and there is no error message to hint that the program is crapping out.
Illustrator :: Images Distorting When Saving As PDF?
Nov 21, 2013I am having a problem when exportng a file as a pdf. A jpg image that I am using distorts. This is a high res file and I have tried exporting with both the 'high quality print' and 'press quality' presets.
I have tried printing directly from illustrator and the image looks great, when I print from the pdf the image looks disorted.
I have attached an image to show what I mean, the image on the left is from the pdf.

I have to scale it down small, but I can't figure I've tried different settings with the pdf.I have also scaled it in photoshop and still doesn't matter.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Plotting To PDF To Adobe Acrobat X- Slow Spooling
Feb 22, 2011Weve recently updated our systems at our office to OS Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Im currently using AutoCad Architecture 2010. We also upgraded to Adobe Acrobat X.
The iissue i have is when plotting to PDF (selecting Adobe PDF as printer) it takes a long time to spool. Sometimes it takes as much as 4 mins before it completes the PDF. Other times it just crashes.
This is the first im using Acrobat X. Previoulsly i was using Acrobat 8 without issues. My thought is there might be a compatibility issue with the new version of Adobe X. Or perhaps its a simple as the settings im using. The other user in my office is running the same system, but hes using Acrobat 9, and of course his works flawlessly?
The temporary work-around is Exporting to PDF within AutoCAD.
After Effects :: Does Adobe Dynamic Links Slow Down The Rendering Process

This is my problem : I work on After Effects. I have a composition that is rendered quite fast. (almost in real time...)
But when I open the linked comp in Premiere Pro, it lags as hell. Maybe 2x, 3x slower.
So I'd like to know why Adobe Premiere Pro is slow, while After Effects is fast ?
Photoshop :: CS6 - Why Are GIFs Saving Slow
Apr 19, 2013I'm using Photoshop CS6 . I use the timeline to make my frames and adjust the delay number at the bottom of each thumbnail, i've tried (No Delay, 0.01, 0.1, 02) but once I save they slow down.
When I press play from the timeline it plays fast and smooth. When I click "Save For Web" and press play on the bottom right it plays the same (Although for some reason when the delay is set to No Delay or 0, it plays SUPER fast)
When I click "Preview..." on the bottom right and it opens up in IE it plays very slow even though its delay is set to 0 or the others i've listed above. When I save and open it plays just like when I click preview, slow and delayed. I've tried opening with IE, Firefox, and Chrome and same result.
I even tried saving the frames from my animation and using the Online Generator from [URL]......... and the image can play REALLY fast setting the delay all the way down, heck, I had to set it to around "277 delay" for it to play the way Photoshop saves it thats how slow Photoshop is saving my gifs.
So I know its not a case of the gif having too many frames, or the file being too big.. (Which I don't really see how thats relevant anyways since it should only decrease the image quality not the animation speed)
EDIT: I read somewhere that its because I dont have Quicktime, is this true? I don't want to DL Quicktime if not because I dont need it.
Photoshop :: CS6 Very Slow Saving Large Files
Jul 1, 2012I have recently moved from PS CS5 to CS6 and have noticed what seems to be an increase in the amount of time it takes to save large files. At the moment I am working with a roughly 8GB .psb and to do a save takes about 20 minutes. I have had to disable the new autosave features, otherwise it just takes far too long.
CS5 managed to save larger files, more quickly and with less memory available to it. Looking at system resources while Photoshop is trying to save, it is not using its full allocation of RAM specified in performance preferences and there is still space free on the primary scratch disc. The processor is barely being used and disc activity is minimal (Photoshop might be writing at 4mb/s max, often not at all though according to Windows).
I am finding the new layer filtering system invaluable so would rather not go back to CS5. I can do to speed up the saving process?

Aug 8, 2012I installed IV13 onto four of our workstations including the update 1.
Due to the size and complexity of our project we are using Vault to manage all of our parts and drawings.
We had issues with 2012 but managed to get around them. I was hoping 2013 would solve some of them but we are experiencing extremely slow performance with 2013. It takes at least 15 to 20 minutes to open and update drawings. Swopping between an assembly and IDW to do updates takes another 20 minutes to refresh and update.
This is happening on all four of the workstations.
I have come across a few forums with this same issue and I have tried setting up the options as described in them but have had no difference in performance.

Aug 28, 2013I am using corel X6 64 on a Dell optiplex 9010 intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz. 8.00GB of RAM. Its taking about 1-2 minutes to copy/cut/open a file/save a file or even publish to PDF. On the same machine Same circumstances but different User i have no problem. I have to use my user because its connected to my email and at this company i cant change that. I have researched many forums and its not color styles or object styles. It does it on a new file with only one object created. I got a new computer signed on to my user account and the problem persists.

Dec 19, 2012I have been struggling today with an issue I've encountered with my documents that I made in Illustrator, then had them uploaded to the web. The document displays big squares around all the paths in my document, containig text and gradients inside them.
When I open the document on my laptop, using adobe reader, it displays correctly, with no hassles, but when I upload them to the web, or even drag and drop the document in to my browser, these big squares appear. I'v etried different PDF settings to try and fix this, but it's not working and as a temporary solution, the document was uploaded as a PNG.
The document itself isn't linked to any =thing, it's just a document that opens when you click on the web button to view it, and then you can download the pdf document from the website.
Illustrator :: Highlight Scanned Documents CC X64?
Oct 23, 2013I scanned a worksheet containing chemical structures with VueScan 9.3.14. I tried to use acrobat 11.0.5 along with the highlight tool to highlight parts of a chemical structure. Adobe did not recognize all parts of the chemical structure. Some parts (mostly single covalent bonds between 2 atoms) could be highlighted, but other's could not. Those parts which could not be highlight were important parts I was aiming to use acrobat's highlight tool for. I was hoping if something like the highlight tool in acrobat could be used in illustrator and/or other third party software.

Even when both documents have been assigned the Adobe 1998 RGB color space, and colors are identically called out in RGB, my output varies between the documents. Mar 12, 2012I have multiple documents that need to share the same swatches. I can't find a nice workflow for keeping them all in sync. At the moment I have a separate document that I use as a swatch library. Every time I change or add a swatch I have to resave the document as a swatch library, then re-import the library into every document that uses it, then reassign each swatch as changes are not picked up. This is really time consuming.
I am looking for a way to have a single swatch library that is shared between multiple documents, all of which dynamically update when I make changes to the library in the same way that an AI file can be shared amongst multiple documents and will reflect any changes made. At the very least I want to be able to reimport a swatch library and have any object using one of the library swatches update. I have tried placing the library document in the files, but it seems swatches are not carried over.
This is driving me crazy. It seems like once you share a swatch library there is no support whatsoever for edits to that swatch library being picked up by documents that use it even if you re-open the edited swatch library.

Illustrator :: CC Errors Reopening Documents With Pie Charts
Sep 25, 2013I created some sample pie charts for a client - had no problems with the document while it was open. It saved fine, I even saved it as an EPS. However, when I try to reopen the document, it gives me an error (whether I open the illustrator or eps file).
I haven't been able to track down the reason for it. It has 6 sample pie charts on it. The text and labels are simply text or lines drawn on a separate layer. The "hole" is simply a white circle on top of the chart. There isn't really anything complicated with it, so I'm not sure where the error is. I've already recreated this but had the same problem again.
This does not happen for all pie charts - there is another file I created with other samples, and I've been able to reopen that. The odd thing is that even though I get the error, it seems to partially open the file - only a few of the elements show up.
