Jan 16, 2013I have purchased some clipart where the artist used Adobe Illustrator and it contained extensive Mesh Fills. The artist sent me the same artwork in pdf & eps but I am unable to open any of them with X5. Apparently it is a function of the mesh fills?

Feb 4, 2012Have a few questions about hotkeys. I want to change the hotkeys on most of the tools to match the ones I use in other Software. However, is there something like a "template file" for my hotkeys saved so that I can just add it to the corresponding file and the hotkeys to be applied at once each time I reinstall Draw? I wouldn't like to do it each time manually.
And lastly, Hand tool. I like how the hand tool works on Adobe software. Once you let the button of the Hand tool it automatically gives you the tool you previously had making it very handy to use. That doesn't happen with Draw though. Each time I use the hand tool i have to reselect again the tool I previously used!

Each CorelDraw card file varies in size from between 5 & 15mb each ...i have exported each as jpegs & they look great onscreen!
i need to get the cards printed now & the printer asked for a pdf file with the cards files in
I have hardly ever used pdf's at all so know very little
Using the Corel preset "Export to pdf" option in CorelDraw the pdf file size comes out at 12mb for EACH INDIVIDUAL card ....is there anyway to get the pdf at the same quality & size as my jpegs??

So I attempted to download Service Pack 2 for Suite X4 but the installation fails on three attempts.

Nov 10, 2011I have a CDR file and I tried to export it as an SVG. It's supposed to look like this:

But CorelDraw X4 saves it like this:

The main problem is that the gradient isn't centered. I'm not an SVG expert, but I played around with the XML and I couldn't get the gradient to center. Are there any settings in CDRX4 I can change, or is it possible to edit the XML to make it centered?

Oct 8, 2012I'd never had problems with previous versions of corel draw with this. I make a drawing in rgb colours and save it as svgz. Even with a simple picture like a few squares. In x6 I get the mention "unvalid id's found".
I can't figure out what I have to do to prefend that mention.

How can I fix this issue? when drawing the images I use as little nodes as possible, but as soon as I export it or import it into artcut it has hundreds more nodes than I put in.

When I edit a bitmap object from Draw, I always have to start my editing over and over.I lose my object. So...I do a workaround...I export the selected object, open it in Photo-Paint to edit it.
When saving...same thing. Except, the file saves properly. It's just that Photo-Paint crashes.
It used to do that with my older X4 version as well...I skipped the X5 and when on to the X6.
It still crashes, but even more...thing is...Both programs were installed on two different computers.

Aug 31, 2012I just upgraded to X6 from X4 about 2 weeks ago. I do all of my work in spot colors since i'm in the screen printing industry. Since not all of my clients have upgraded I still have to save down my work to X4. This is where the problem begins. When its been saved down it's creating a LOT of extra colors in the print separations. It's a lot of the same color. For instance I used black, Pantone Rhodamine Red and Pantone Yellow...when I save it down to X4 it's giving me 2 blacks, 3 Rhodamine Reds and about 10 Pantone Yellows. When I export to pdf and open in Corel X4 it doesn't do this...only when I save down. I don't want to have to export and open each time I have to send a file.

Oct 25, 2013Several days ago I noticed my files sizes were enormous. I was unable to even open them to work on them. Something that was once 517KB becomes 161MB the next time I save it.
After I installed the Corel update this morning, things were back to working as usual. But tonight it's back to the huge files. I saved a simple greeting card file - no halftones, no gradients, etc. It saved at 19.7MB. A few minutes later after making some small changes - saving again it was now 118 MB.
I tried saving to a lower version of Corel and ver 15 it was the same scenario. When saving to 12, 13, & 14 the files were normal, small sizes. But after a few hours even those versions were saving at huge sizes.
I've had a friend check her computer using the same file - she has the exact same computer & on Corel X6. All of her files are nice and small like they are supposed to be.
I've run virus checks and nothing is coming up. I am on Windows 7 64 bit.
Other than recreating all of my files every time I use them - I have no way of saving usable .cdr files.

Apr 9, 2013I've been using an older version of Corel Draw and Photopaint for years on end (Version 10 on win XP). A recent hard drive crash has moved me to the latest version of CDR/PP (X6)in Windows 7/64.
I'm amazed to see that Photo Paint hasn't changed dramatically over the last decade - most of the tools and options are where I am used to finding them. However, one function of the latest build of PP.
I do a fair amount of video editing and I use PP to create .tga files with transparency for the timelines. In version 10 of PP, I would create an object, say a red arrow for example, >mask create from object>image / paper size / background color to red> save as .tga. The background color would appear as red and would become transparent when I changed the image properties in the video timeline to "straight unmatted." Having control of the background color is important for good transparencies in video as any fringes will blend with the objects. The issue i'm having with X6 is that no matter what I do, the background color saves as white, which causes a halo when transparency is applied in the video timeline. How to change the background color when saving a .tga?
