I have several customers that I do only laser engraving work for, is there a way to somehow open their files and have the printer default to the laser instead of my printer? I have tried everything I could find in settings and defaults, but they seem to be program centric instead of file centric.

Recently I've been having problems with X5 and Xerox Print drivers. After the installation the Color Option in the print properties get's grayout and I can't make any selection. If the customer has the print driver in default for Black and White for him to change to Color I had to install a second print driver. This only happens with Corel X5 and Windows 7.

Using the Corel preset "Export to pdf" option in CorelDraw the pdf file size comes out at 12mb for EACH INDIVIDUAL card ....is there anyway to get the pdf at the same quality & size as my jpegs??
I have a client that I laser engrave parts with a variety of graphics, about 35 different designs that fit on 10 different parts and all the designs are different sizes on the parts. I use a fixture that holds 40 parts, two rows of 20, for each type of part. I have a master file for each part that contains a page with each graphic laid out as in the fixture so that I can simply go to the page and select the graphic in the right position for the fixture and paste it into a "lasering" file. The lasering file is just as many pages as I need to run the order and is much smaller than the master file.
That works fine now and is actually pretty quick and easy to setup, but I just found out that they will be adding about 35-40 designs a month. That will make the master file huge and very cumbersome to manage, not to mention the order sheet (spreadsheet) will get huge in no time at all. I can envision it becoming a nightmare to manage and mistakes will be frequent due to the sheer size of the files.
What I would like to do is have a spreadsheet with the graphic and a quantity and merge that into the lasering file instead of doing it manually. I am very familiar with merging data but I don't know if it's possible to merge a graphic from a database or somehow import the graphic into corel.
In Corel Draw x6 recently I am facing a problem. After writing few sentence when I wan to change the font style... and click on the font then the system hangs for a minute or responding very slowly. If I scroll the mouse to go downwards or upwards fonts... even then the system works very slowly. Why its happening? Any problem due to the number of fonts loaded? About 600 fonts loaded in my machine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a new Corel product...Graphics Suite X4 Home version operating on Windows 7. I have designed several flyers and attempted to save as a PDF file to send to an associate. However the PDF option is not available in the selection box.
So I attempted to download Service Pack 2 for Suite X4 but the installation fails on three attempts.
Is there any other way to save X4 files to X3 without going into the save dialog and changing the version you want it to be saved in? Also Is there any other way for me to convert all rgb in a document to cmyk without selecting the objects or using the object manager?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a CDR file and I tried to export it as an SVG. It's supposed to look like this:

But CorelDraw X4 saves it like this:
SVG:
[URL]
The main problem is that the gradient isn't centered. I'm not an SVG expert, but I played around with the XML and I couldn't get the gradient to center. Are there any settings in CDRX4 I can change, or is it possible to edit the XML to make it centered?
I'd never had problems with previous versions of corel draw with this. I make a drawing in rgb colours and save it as svgz. Even with a simple picture like a few squares. In x6 I get the mention "unvalid id's found".
I can't figure out what I have to do to prefend that mention.
The pick too only creates a rectangular selection marque.
Is there any way to select objects with a freeform marque, or even to draw a shape and use that as the marque to select the objects within it.
I'm wondering if a macro / plugin is needed to do this.
Is it possible to turn off the selection marks which appear after each drawing stroke when drawing in a freehand style with a wacom pen?
I find it very off-putting to my drawing. In Illustrator and Inkscape it is possible to draw freely without constant selection marks appearing after every stroke of the pen.
I have a question about selections in PP.
Why when I make a path for example and make a selection from it every time the selection is 1 pixel wider then the path. I'm used to it with Photoshop and it's very precise even you use the lasso tool and paths. But here I can't understand the logic in that 1 pixel more. Every time I make a selection I have to reduce the size of the selection with 1 pixel and that is very uncomfortable.
Is there a way to remove or make more transperent the grey highlight selection on text? When I adjust kerning to text in order to match spacing, the cursor highlight for the text covers up any image or artwork allowing you to only see the text selected. This also appears this way in wireframe?

Question 2: I have a picture with many objects in it that I'm working with. I want to use only 1 object from the entire picture. I've used the cutout lab in corel photo paint before but my final cutout comes out with rough edges plus it takes a long time to get the result. Is there another way to "cut out" an object from a picture?
When I draw an image on coreldraw 11, and save it as, or export it to a .plt file, it adds lord knows how many nodes, which creates issues for my plotter. How can I fix this issue? when drawing the images I use as little nodes as possible, but as soon as I export it or import it into artcut it has hundreds more nodes than I put in.

When I edit a bitmap object from Draw, I always have to start my editing over and over.I lose my object. So...I do a workaround...I export the selected object, open it in Photo-Paint to edit it.
When saving...same thing. Except, the file saves properly. It's just that Photo-Paint crashes.
It used to do that with my older X4 version as well...I skipped the X5 and when on to the X6.
It still crashes, but even more...thing is...Both programs were installed on two different computers.
I've created a poster on corel draw x5 and I want to save it into a jpeg file, how can I do this? I have tried opening the file in corel photo paint but it loses some of the effects I have added.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to X6 from X4 about 2 weeks ago. I do all of my work in spot colors since i'm in the screen printing industry. Since not all of my clients have upgraded I still have to save down my work to X4. This is where the problem begins. When its been saved down it's creating a LOT of extra colors in the print separations. It's a lot of the same color. For instance I used black, Pantone Rhodamine Red and Pantone Yellow...when I save it down to X4 it's giving me 2 blacks, 3 Rhodamine Reds and about 10 Pantone Yellows. When I export to pdf and open in Corel X4 it doesn't do this...only when I save down. I don't want to have to export and open each time I have to send a file.

I made a graphic project which is quite large (2,6m x 2,0m @ 300dpi) and including raster grahics. The CDR file itself has about 400MB. When I tried to export this graphic to the png or jpg at the current size Corel X5 always crashes. I tried almost everything on many computers but always the same problem.
It looks like the project is too large for export. At this moment I desperately need to export the file to jpg or png at full resolution. Maybe X6 is more stable when exports or I have to simplify the project somehow but...
